I stayed at Melbury Court for short term respite care following a hospital operation which restricted my mobility. All members of staff were friendly, cheerful and approachable. They looked after me very well and helped me to make a good recovery. I always felt comfortable and relaxed in my ensuite room, which was spacious, clean and well furnished with plenty of natural light. I was very impressed with the high standard of care provided and warmly recommend Melbury Court.

I would like to commend the management and staff team at Melbury Court for the ongoing support of my mother as she resides full time at the service.
As dementia continues to affect her functioning, the carers ensure the provision of a home-like environment, where she is well dressed, her dignity always respected, well-fed and stimulated with a regular timetable of activities.
The regular news letter gives a great insight into the lives of loved ones, with photos, updates and an overview of life in the home.
The support that the residents received during the pandemic and continues now has been over and above.

I commend the home manager and her team for all they do on a daily basis, that gives me peace of mind knowing my mum receives the best care, at this, her most vulnerable time of life, and for that I'm eternally grateful.

Without exception, the staff have treated Mum with kindness, love, respect and compassion. Everyone who answered the telephone has been helpful and kind to me and my sisters Mum's relatives. We have been kept very well informed about changes in Mum's health and medical care has been sought when necessary. Everyone we have spoken to has clearly explained what they were doing and why. The end of life care that Mum received was the best it could possibly have been and we as family members were cared for so well too. Nothing was too much trouble. The weekly newsletter also inspired confidence.

I cannot thank the staff at Melbury Court Care Home enough for the wonderful care my mother is receiving. My mother is at present being looked after in the nursing unit and I can honestly say that the staff have nursed and taken care of her extremely well. Everyone in the home is professional, compassionate and patient. I am always kept well informed and nothing I ask is ever too much trouble. My mother always tells me how good the staff are and praises them highly. A huge thank you to everyone for their dedication.

My mother has been in Melbury Court for 9 years, she will be 102 this year. I moved her from another town 100 miles away and she has been happy and content since the day she moved in. She feels safe with the support she receives from the lovely carers and this has allowed her not to worry about being on her own, and there is also someone around if she is unsure about anything.
All the staff are welcoming and when I visit we always have a laugh. During lockdown, I have seen photos of Mum on the weekly bulletin and to see someone putting rollers in Mum's hair was lovely, Mum always likes her hair to be nice, which is very hard at present in lockdown.
Although Mum does not take part in the activities now I believe during lockdown she has been going to sit in the room with her cup of tea.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

I highly recommend this home, my son-in-law says he has already booked me in!

After viewing various care homes in the area, we decided on Melbury Court as it seemed so much better in every way. The home is decorated to a high standard, the quality of the furniture is excellent, each bedroom is a good size and has an ensuite. Above all, the staff are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble, my mam is very well cared for and all her needs are met. My mam moved into the home in November 2019, until the pandemic I visited every day, I was welcomed by the staff and they had an open visiting policy. During lockdown, relatives could have Zoom calls which the staff organised, and I was kept informed with newsletters and phone calls as to how my mam was doing. There is wifi in the rooms so my mam was able to have a smart device which made contact much easier.

The manager and deputy manager are both very approachable, helpful and professional. We definitely made the right choice in Melbury Court and would highly recommend!

I can only say that all the staff at Melbury go above and beyond to care for the residents and will always go the extra mile for them. Mum had been in a couple of other places before she moved here 4 years ago and the care and respect shown over the years has been second to none. There are (when not in lockdown) a wide variety of activities and events on offer, some that include family members and families are kept well informed about their relatives. If ever I phone with a problem or question I am always made to feel that I matter too, as I don’t have other family support.

I have already recommended this home to various friends whose parents are at the sad stage in their lives that they need full-time care. It's a very hard and heartbreaking decision when you have to make this choice for them. My dad has been at Melbury for 2 years now. Obviously, the last year has been very difficult due to Covid for everyone involved. Luckily my dad survived Covid. I really can't praise the staff enough for getting him through this. The care is tremendous and the home is a lovely clean modern building. I am so happy to know he is safe and well cared for.

I was always a little reluctant for my mum to go into care, after meeting the staff at the home, my worries soon diminished. From the initial telephone enquiry to the regular updates and newsletters from the home, I couldn't be more reassured that my mum is receiving the best care. The staff within the home show genuine care and compassion for all residents within the care home, they treat my mum like a member of their own family. They work tirelessly to ensure residents are looked after, entertained and looking their best! The home has such a homely feel, it's always clean and smells fresh.
The home has managed spectacularly in these unprecedented times, keeping families up to date as best they can. The management team have gone above and beyond, they are always so helpful and nothing is ever a problem to them. All of the staff deserve recognition for their great care.

My mum loves being in Melbury Court and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I have the highest admiration for all of the staff at Melbury Court, having endured nearly a year of the stress and strain of COVID-19 their kindness, understanding and professionalism has never waned.
Having to even consider putting both of my parents in their care last summer, was a very traumatic experience. However, I felt reassured right from the initial phone call, any settling in issues were addressed promptly and my experience is that all staff are approachable and understanding.
My mum was very poorly, and we sadly lost her in November, I was so touched by the care and dignity she received and the compassion shown to my brother and myself. We were allowed to spend a little time with our dad alone, and as part of our grieving process, this was extremely important.

I must say my dad appears to thrive at Melbury and seems to be settled and content, obviously not being able to visit is difficult for everyone, but they try to facilitate as best as possible within guidelines.

Despite continuous setbacks due to covid, the staff remain upbeat and positive. I'm always kept up to date with my mum's care, either by phone or in the regular newsletters. The senior staff are always there to give advice and support to me when I'm not sure what to do for the best, regarding my mum. Superb care and consideration is given to my mum and I always feel reassured that she's in the best place for her needs.

Our mum needed care after being hospitalised following a fall at home. What was initially meant to be a short-term need became a longer-term one and our mum spent 6 months at a care home before moving to Melbury Court only due to closer location to her family. The staff are excellent with her and always try to keep her spirits up. Mum is a really fussy eater and if the main menu options weren't to her liking, the care staff or one of the cooks would make a sandwich or omelette to make sure she was able to have something to eat. They also tried to facilitate visits in spite of the challenges of Covid. Melbury Court did an excellent job for the transfer from her previous care home and everything went really smoothly. Thanks to everyone at Melbury Court for making our mum comfortable and feel welcome.

My auntie spent her last weeks in Melbury Court, in the palliative care wing. I have nothing but admiration for the wonderful care she received. In these awful times when visiting has been limited, it was important to feel confident that she was being looked after in the best way possible, and the communications from the staff at every step of the way were so appreciated.

My dad who has mixed dementia/Alzheimer's moved to Melbury Court in August 2019. It was an extremely hard decision and difficult time, however; it worked out best for Dad as he then had the 24-hour care he required. He adapted to life in the home extremely well it even lifted his mood mixing with other people. In May of this year, I received the dreaded phone call that Dad had caught COVID. The staff were so supportive, contacting me with daily updates. Dad declined and had to be rushed to hospital. The doctors gave him days to live. Melbury Court Staff were exceptional they allowed me to bring Dad back to the home so I could be with him when he passed away. However; 5 months have gone by and Dad is still here he managed to fight the virus. I'm so grateful to all the staff who have helped him through this difficult time. The home manager and the team are doing an outstanding job in protecting the residents. I just hope life gets back to normal soon for them and the residents. THANK YOU!

I enjoy living at Melbury Court, when I first arrived here I was very unwell and the care and attention provided by staff have allowed me to get back up and on my feet. The staff are fantastic and the care and support I receive is outstanding. I could go home if I wanted to but I would rather stay here where I am looked after.

All of the care staff in this home look after me well, they are kind caring and offer support where needed. I am always treated with dignity and respect. Care staff are very patient with others and I see this daily around the home. The management in this home are very approachable, if they do not have an answer to my questions they will come back to me at a later date, they are very good. I feel safe living at Melbury Court and have lived here for almost 2 years, there have been many changes but these have been done to improve the service. The housekeeping staff in this home is pretty good and they aim to keep the home clean and fresh smelling and are always happy to help if I want anything. I would recommend this home to others.
