Since moving my nana from her previous home to here at Yohden, we have seen an amazing difference. Her needs are met by all the staff and they involve her in numerous activities to keep her happy and entertained. I love coming to see my nana here as I know I will be greeted with a smile and lots of laughter.

The home is usually clean, tidy and welcoming. Residents seem to be well looked after. Communications by telephone to home can be sometimes difficult, not picking up. To anyone not used to a care home, the smell of urine is quite strong sometimes, air fresheners may be helpful. Inadequate private areas for family visiting.

Mum has blossomed since coming into this care home. The level of care and attention to detail is second to none. The entertainment team are fantastic, always encouraging and including my mum in all activities. The ladies go above and beyond to ensure my mum is happy and settled.

I was pleased to see my brother was in good spirits and had a good appetite. All the staff were friendly and helpful as they always are. The atmosphere is always friendly with plenty of social interaction between the residents. A very happy visit.

Quite happy with all the staff. Everyone will do all they can to help you. I think at times could do with extra help (be able to spend a bit of extra time chatting to residents etc). My husband isin the Lodge area and I think this side is a bit neglected in the surroundings compared to the main entrance, lounge and dining area etc, otherwise, I'm happy with him being in Yohden Hall.

A wonderful, new manager is now in place (as of July 2019) which, if she is properly supported, will allow the home to again flourish. In the previous 12 months low morale, no teamwork and mistrust appeared to be the norm. Serious questions of the senior management (remote to the home) must be asked as they were aware of issues and appeared to try to quash concerns rather than addressing them. The excellent staff deserve a professional and responsive management input in my view. One person (however good or bad) should not have such a significant effect on a care home and senior management really need to look at themselves and the effectiveness and impartiality of their staff appraisal procedures if they are serious about making the improvements that their staff deserve

The home is well run with the staff that is provided. More staff on the floor would be an improvement. The morale of the staff has increased so much in the last couple of weeks, making the whole place happy!

My mum went into Yohden beginning of December from hospital really poorly, as a family we didn't think she would last long. Now 6 weeks later she is like a different woman. She's well again she's eating and drinking putting on weight also. Mum has Alzheimer's so a different environment is very unsettling for her. However, she has settled in very well. The care she receives is outstanding cannot fault the whole home and staff. This is the third care home mum has been in and I only wished we had found Yohden sooner. Thank you everyone who looks after mum we all appreciate it, the staff are so caring and are worth their weight in gold.

My brother has lived in this complex for 6 years. In all of this time, he has been well cared for and treated with respect. The staff are very professional and approachable keeping me fully informed of all his activities and needs.

Staff are very quick to inform me of any difficulties or medical problems to ensure a quick resolution. Following a recent management change, the new manager was quick to meet and introduce themselves.

Disappointed in new management, staff have moved from the main entrance, make the home unwelcome and hard to find anyone. Aware of safety on main doors but very confusing for my Granda who now does not leave his room. We often had to come in and make the bed up as it had not been done. The bathroom has had a hole in it since he came into the home and still has never been fixed or replaced. Would like to meet new manager, as I have not seen her, or know her name, very unprofessional.

Thank you for your review. Our Home Administrator and myself are located in reception to ensure visibility, obviously, there are times when we are needed in other parts of the home. I will be in contact to address your other concerns and please do not hesitate to ask to meet with me at any time if...

Generally speaking, the care is good. The area that my son is residing in, has quite a lot of residents who need two carers to deal with their needs including my son. Sometimes there are not enough staff on the floor to deal with these residents. If more staff were employed this would help with the problem.

Thank you for your kind comment regarding good care for your Son, it's very much appreciated.

Yohden Care Complex has some fantastic staff and please be assured we regularly and constantly review staffing levels on the units based on both clients dependency and occupancy to ensure staffing is appropriate.

My parent has resided in Yohden Hall for 12 years or more. She reached the grand age of 100 this year. She is happy, safe and part of 'her' extended family as she calls the staff. Still fiercely independent, she is given freedom of choice in so many ways, knowing that someone is on hand when things go a bit far for her abilities. Our new manager has brought a breath of fresh air and new ideas, without undermining the last manager, who was also excellent. Well done to all in Yohden Hall.

I have nothing but praise for this nursing home. My mam was very happy with the care she received and as her daughter, I can not thank them enough for the care, dignity and love they give to my mother. Mam always had a smile whenever the staff entered her room. They also always had time for Mams family. The home is always clean and the decor always pristine. Mam passed away in October after 6 years at the home aged 97 years old and I know she was very happy at the time she lived there.

My mother had experience of several nursing homes in the region and, due to their reorganisations and closures, she arrived at Yohden Hall. I sincerely wish that we had discovered this nursing care facility much, much sooner. My mother spent the last year of her life here and it was a year of peace, comfort, love and dignity. From my personal observation, the staff treat those in their care as if they were members of their own family. Care is of consistently high quality and in my opinion, this is due to the strong leadership of the nursing home manager who successfully manages, trains and motivates the staff to deliver her high standards.

My mother-in-law used this facility for over 3 years due to her progressing dementia. We have only praise for the excellent staff who are caring and supportive to patients and families.

They carry our their duties always smiling whilst doing a difficult challenging job on very low pay. A big thank you from us both.

My son suffered a stroke a few years ago and we got him a place at Yohden Hall. I cannot speak too highly of the care offered to my son. He is about 47 years of age and his speech and mobility are poor. The staff are warm and friendly and caring. the home is always clean and tidy and the place smells right! My neighbour recently needed to go into a care home and I had no hesitation in recommending Yohden Hall. He was given a room and his family is really pleased with the standard of care provided.

Hello, my name is Graham and I am the Home Manager at Yohden Hall.

My goal as Home Manager is dedicated to supporting our residents in accessing purposeful and meaningful opportunities through person-centred care and support. I have worked in the health and social care industry since I was sixteen years old and after almost 25 years plus, I still wake up each morning with a passion to make a positive difference to both the team who I work with and the residents we all have the pleasure of sharing our days supporting and engaging with.
