At present my Mam is a resident and recently celebrated her 90th Birthday for which the Management and staff made the occasion very special for her. Not only that but in general, the care provided is excellent and more importantly if I or other members of the family need to discuss her care the management staff are a pleasure to deal with. Would recommend this facility to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

My dear mother was at Acomb Court for the last year of her life, and throughout her time there we only have praise for the staff of this wonderful home. The care she received was exemplary on a professional level - with excellent nursing care, provided by very kind nurses and carers. More than this, our relationships with Acomb Court staff went beyond the professional. Many individual nurses and carers developed a real friendship with my mother and showed great compassion to her even when she found communication more difficult after a stroke. The home extended kindness and welcome to my father as well, who visited her every day (until COVID restrictions prevented this). During COVID, the administrators too were endlessly patient, facilitating phone calls to my mother whenever possible.
The compassion from the staff continued right until Mum's very last day when we were given special permission to enter the home and spend time at her bedside.

Well done Acomb Court. Thank you.

The care my uncle and aunt received in Acomb Court has been excellent. The ethos of the home is to involve family and I was always made welcome and involved in my relatives' care. The home environment was always clean and calm, and the auxiliary services such as catering and laundry were exemplary. I have been extremely impressed with all staff across residential and nursing floors, so many acts of kindness.

I was terribly sad when we could no longer care for my mother and needed to put her into a home. I dreaded it but all of the staff at Acomb Court were so kind and supportive. She was there for 15 months and in that time I was so impressed with all of the staff. They were wonderful with the residents and their relations. They get 10/10 from me!

My husband is well cared for in Acomb Court. The staff are friendly and work hard to make the residents as happy as possible. The only negative is the shortage of staff but this is a nationwide problem throughout the care industry. The home is always clean and smells fresh and residents are always clean and well dressed. They don't look neglected as is the case in some other homes I have visited.

I have visited a friend in Acomb Court Care Home and found this home very clean, staff friendly and management of Acomb excellent.
I have never visited a care home before and couldn't believe how happy everyone seemed and staff so helpful.
My friend who is there at the moment said she was very happy and the food was excellent.

Unlike hospital, staff wanted to help my friend get on her feet and are able to encourage my friend. I can only say I was impressed with Acomb and may it continue.

Very impressed with the kind welcome from the manager and staff. Finding some carers whom we know when they worked elsewhere beforehand made us feel at home very quickly. The building and grounds are well designed and kept in good order. The staff of all lands and land, helpful and friendly. The food is varied and very good. The nursing care needed is expertly done. The staff work hard. Sometimes attention to needs seems slow because of timing or crises and needs of others. My wife is in bed most of the time and has liquid food and medicine via a peg tube.

There is a nice atmosphere in Acomb Court and I always get a friendly welcome from staff when I visit. The staff on my mother's floor are very caring and things seem a lot more settled which could be due to the new manager.

Some excellent carers who came and work hard, along with some who don't show it. Overworked and lack of staff leads to some people being unhappy. Carers and patients/residents. Apparent lack of training in certain key areas e.g. illnesses, e.g. Parkinsons is not helpful and turnover of staff is a concern.

My experience of Acomb Court has been most positive. The admin, carers and cleaning staff are patient under the most trying of circumstances.

They are very hardworking and welcome visits from the family of residents. Activities programme is admirable being the responsibility of one staff member who has other duties. My unreserved rate of confidence is due to the fact I have been a resident since October 2018 and the care I received gave me a second chance at life.

Acomb Court is spacious, light and airy and very clean. First impression is wow! The staff are second to none, directed by a first-class manager who is caring, friendly and corridor friendly which is so important when visiting, especially with relatives and new faces. There is a calmness about the place. Carers and staff are very friendly and jolly. Nothing is a problem and anything I have asked for, been concerned about, has been dealt with immediately and with kindness.

The meals on menu are varied and catered for special diet requirements. All in all - five stars.

My mother has been a resident at Acomb Court for over 5 years and in that time, I have never had any concerns regarding her care. She appeared to be happy and content from the beginning of her stay in the home. The staff are very helpful and regularly keep me up to date with my mother's condition. They are also friendly, patient and cheerful when I visit with my father and we both agree that they are a credit to the company. The home has always been clean and tidy with usually welcoming fresh flowers which my mother always had in her own home.

The reception at Acomb Court is pleasant and inviting. The rooms are nicely decorated and there is never an unpleasant smell, so often the case in other care homes.
The staff are friendly and treat my mother as if she were their own.

Meals are good and varied. Always cake, scone or biscuits with a cup of tea.
