My father was a resident in May 2022. During his stay, he always had a clean and comfortable living space. The care he received was excellent and his many complex needs were handled without problems by the staff. The staff were always very kind and would sit socialising with the residents in the rare moments of quiet time they had. My father's short stay at Ashington Grange was a very positive experience at what was a very difficult time for my family. We cannot thank or recommend you enough.
I am a permanent resident here and can't complain. Sold my previous home and been a resident here since 2015. I can not praise the staff enough for their efforts because the staffing situation here is really desperate.
I've been here a short time. The staff are very caring and friendly. The food is good and varied. My son and family come to see me frequently and are pleased to see that I am cared for and happy. I am, very.
I have been here for some time now and still enjoy it and class this as my home. I have my own room, so better than hospital. The food is good and changes weekly so good choice. The staff are nice and pleasant and know their stuff. I can tell them if I am not well and they will get a doctor for me. I also like the company of other residents. Nothing is a problem for the staff. I don't regret having to come into a home.
My father-in-law has been welcomed and made to feel at home, he's been well cared for with kindness and dignity by all staff who work very hard. The home is very clean, and from what my father-in-law says exceptionally good, supplying varied, tasty food.
Lovely staff, I know I am safe here.
The care home is brilliant, and they look after me, and all that staff are brilliant too.
Perfect. Staff excellent. Food excellent.
Friendly, informative and caring staff. My dad is clean and tidy, well cared for and well-fed. We visit once a week and it always feels thorough and safe. The staff are able to pacify my dad during times when he feels lonely or his dementia has him confused. If he is unwell or needs us we are immediately informed.
I came to this care home with a serious condition, both arms and shoulders being broken. Shoulders and arms both partially recovered owing to the good nursing. The staff are very friendly and efficient.
Always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. The facilities are good. Residents are treated with dignity. There is lots of selection for meals. There were a few issues with management but recent change seems good from the 8th June.
The staff are brilliant and are like family. They were so professional. Always had time for my mam and made her laugh. Covid-19 has given us all difficult moments. My mam sadly passed away during this period but I knew she was always loved and cared for. I still keep in touch with the home as I call them all friends now.
My uncle was admitted to Ashington Grange Care Home for four weeks of respite care following a discharge from the hospital. During his first week, it was his birthday. The cook baked him a delicious chocolate cake with candles on it. What a very thoughtful gesture, which I of his family greatly appreciated. He loved his time there and chose to make Ashington Grange his permanent home. The care he received during the final 9-months of his life was exceptional, and he was happier than we had seen him for years. Before the Covid pandemic, we could visit at any time without a pre-arranged appointment. We always found the atmosphere to be calm and friendly. Having visited many different care home over the years, I can honestly say that Ashington Grange is outstanding in the care provided. He always said, "I love the food"! During the Covid lockdown, we were kept informed of his health and wellbeing. He was always treated with the utmost kindness and respect, and for that, all of his family are truly grateful.
My mam was so happy at Ashington Grange. She went in for a weeks respite care and decided to stay. The care she received was outstanding from beginning to end. My mam's needs and physical health changed over the 3-years she was there. We were kept informed and involved in her care. The staff have been amazing throughout the pandemic and worked tirelessly. The care and compassion they showed when my mam was receiving end of life care will never be forgotten. I can't recommend this home highly enough.
My mum was moved from a home in Sheffield which closed. As she was originally from Blyth we decided to bring her back nearer to family here. She was very well cared for by all the staff and spent the last 2 years of her life happy and contented. The staff were wonderful with her and the food superb.
My mother has been a resident at, Ashington Grange, since December 2019. We needed the type of care that was offered "upstairs" for her - we have not been disappointed. The staff are friendly, caring and professional. Individuals "go the extra mile" every shift and we have been extremely pleased with their ability to be the family that we can't be to her with her increased health needs and during"lockdown"; a potentially devastating time for residents and staff. All is well; thank you, everyone!
Well done and thank you.
Anybody who is thinking of placing a loved one here, take comfort in knowing they will be well looked after.
My father was taken to the Grange following an early morning accident which was eventually diagnosed as Dementia. The original care was respite followed by residential and ultimately medical care. All during his stay, the care given was of the highest order. He only ever had compliments for the staff. My wife and I totally agree. A very well managed care home.
Having lived alone for 25 years I find it difficult to adjust to communal living especially since all but one of the residents here suffer from various forms of dementia. Apart from which it is a very depressing atmosphere. However, the management and staff do their utmost to understand my predicament and do their best to help.
