The staff at Ashington Grange are living angels who provided care, understanding and compassion that went above and beyond. They kept us reassured by their actions and interactions. They helped our mam settle in when she was anxious and upset. We can't thank them enough for everything they have done. Diamonds in a dark place to the very end.

Dad has had a very happy 5 years here, the staff are amazing every single one of them. He never had any complaints and loved the food especially the Kippers that were specially ordered for him. Sadly he passed away after being very ill for 2 weeks. The staff over this time showed genuine love and affection and made him as comfortable as possible. They were and have always been an extended family to dad and the family.

Staff are very patient and make an effort to find more out about my uncle to try and make his life at Ashington Grange less anxious and more positive.

They are fully aware of his condition and take time to consult with myself and other family.

It is early days for my father's stay in his care home.

We know he is in the best place for security, safety and care. He is enjoying where he is and that is what counts. There has been a recent change of managerial staff which is a little concerning. This review reflects a short-term impression on my behalf and the next one will be more informative.

I find my husband is well looked after in the main but I do find there are times when he does have to wait for toileting or transferring from one chair to another a bit longer than I would expect.
Most of the staff work very hard but I think they do work very short handed.

Problem times are really the worst when staff need break times.

Ashington Grange and staff were extremely professional, caring and empathetic throughout my father-in-laws stay. They were above reproach. Faultless to a T. These thoughts and findings relate to "all" members of staff.

I came to Ashington Granges having just been discharged from hospital as my friend is going away for a few days. I have spent four nights at Ashington Grange Care Home and have found the staff exceptional they are doing a very difficult job but appear to be fully dedicated. Food is very good and very good portions. I was even helped find a radio by the manager. Allin all no complaints.

Very impressed with the standard of care. Staff are attentive and caring with a good sense of humour providing a good atmosphere. Staff are very approachable and sort out any requests immediately and nothing seems to be a problem. Staff make us, the extended family, feel very welcome and encourages us to be involved with any decisions regarding my dad.

My mother has been living at Ashington Grange Care Home for 10 years. She has progressive dementia and has received excellent care over these years. In the residential service, she enjoyed a good range of activities and outings as well as good personal care and support. As her dementia became more severe she moved to the dementia unit where she has the benefit of consistent staffing. The staff are very patient and understanding and encouraged to participate in activities where possible.

I have had both good and bad experiences with care homes and hospitals with my husband. My opinion is nurses and medical staff in assessment wards should take the time to review care homes. Ashington Grange has sorted my husband out in a routine and is well cared for within weeks which no one in the past five years had done, so until now, I have more contentment now as my husband is being cared for.

My cousin has been in the "Grange" for over four years. The level of care in all that time has been truly excellent. Not only personal care, but lots of activities, days out, in house performers and lots more. We have high regard for all the staff and management and can't thank them enough.

I would like to think that all care homes are as good as "The Grange". When we visit, we are treated with the same respect from the friendly staff.

I am more than happy with the care that my father is receiving. On visiting he always looks clean and tidy - he appears settled - hard to determine due to his dementia. I find the staff very approachable and answer any queries I have.
