Recently my father was in Hillside Lodge Care Home and a cannot say enough how wonderful the staff was with him, he arrived at the home with very short notice and was welcomed it was lovely, it was so clean room was lovely and the food was always enjoyed, thank you very much to hillside all the staff.

Very pleased with how welcoming all staff and management were, amazing activities staff, admin and management. Care team are doing an amazing job. The home is very clean and hygienic. All staff were very helpful.

My mother received excellent care at Hillside Lodge Care Home. The staff across the board were all very good not only to mum but to myself and my wife. They gave us brilliant support at the end of mum's life.

My mother has been in the home for a few weeks and in the beginning, didn't really want to be here, but the staff have been so kind, compassionate and caring that she wouldn't dream about going home. It was her 90th birthday yesterday and the staff made such an effort to make it social for her - happy
birthday banners, balloons, drinks and snacks. It all made her feel very special and I am indebted to know my mother is safe and really well looked after by the staff. Thank you.

There are not enough carers for the care required. Basic hygiene is not very good. Teeth are not cleaned and the tooth box is never cleaned. Food is not great - my relative is not the generation of pasta dishes and vegetables need to be cooked more. My relative needs a fork mashed diet and not just
mince and potatoes, better if there was a varied diet, maybe a review of the menu.

Every meal we serve is planned and prepared with the utmost care to ensure optimum nutrition and variety for our residents. Our menu has been designed so that residents always have a choice of alternatives depending on what they fancy that day. This includes nutritionally balanced, soft-eating meals to help those who have difficulty chewing or swallowing.
Our chef is available from Monday to Friday every week to discuss any meal options that are required. Please do reach out to us at the home if you would like to discuss anything further. Thank you again.

Couldn't have asked for better, kind and caring staff. For my mum as she came to the end of her life. Mum had been in the home for about one and a half years and always received extremely good care.

The staff were excellent, especially the nursing staff and management. Although there were activities I was not informed of them on a regular basis. The food was poor, for example, I was given a chip sandwich for a meal. Where are the food groups, no nutrients? Often had baked beans on toast.

To start - gold star. They did me proud in doing a room for my 90th birthday - cold drinks, biscuit and the chef made a 90th birthday cake. Not forgetting all the hard work the staff made with balloons and party hats and they had all the chairs and side tables in a circle. So one big thank you.

During lockdown I was treated very well, I had a relationship with all the staff who were very helpful since lockdown. I have been treated with great respect and the help for my wife and the general care my wife gets is impeccable. She is very happy so far which helps me greatly.

My husband went to Hillside Lodge for a weeks respite care. Unfortunately, he became ill and eventually was taken to hospital. The care he received in Hillside was second to none, and the staff were kind and supportive to me at a very difficult time. I would not hesitate to use this home in the future
or to recommend it to friends. A first-class facility.

I found the management and staff very friendly and so helpful, very welcoming. The care staff I have met always have a smile and a word with me. My mother says the food is nice and there is a good choice. I don't know about activities as Mother is happy in her room.

My mum went to Hillside Lodge for a trial, unfortunately, she became acutely ill whilst with them, which was difficult for all concerned. However, at all times my mum's care and family support was given professionally and in a dedicated manner. Communication on all matters during this time was excellent,
especially with the manager.

My father was in Hillside for two weeks before he passed away. I would like to say that all the care and support he got was over and above exceptional. Vanessa has worked in the Elderly Care Sector for over 33 years. She started her career as a Care Assistant and worked her way up to the Unit Manager in 1991. In 2015, Vanessa joined as Home Manager. Vanessa has achieved a lot in her career, but her proudest achievement outside of her career would be deep-sea diving around the world! In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family and going holidays.
