As an ex-firefighter, I've seen lots of care homes and Scarbrough Court is the best by far. I have no concerns at all about the care my father, who is 96yrs, is receiving.
All the pressure and worry my brother and I previously had has been completely lifted.
I would like to take this opportunity
to thank the staff and management for all their help.

Scarbrough Court provides excellent care in a light and airy environment. Management, care, nursing and support staff are all efficient and friendly. Relatives and visitors are always welcome and often in the many varied organised activities. The approach is very person centred which is of huge benefit
to the residents, helping them to feel safe and happy.

Scarbrough Court is always well presented, clean and tidy. Care staff are friendly, helpful and approachable, though their presence is not always immediately evident apart from key times (meals/medication). this may be due to the layout of the building and for the high demands of a busy unit.
Sometimes
lack of attention to finer issues such as hairstyling, nail hygiene, hearing aid, though Mam is always otherwise impeccably clean.
Reception staff and management were exceptional in response to my request an outing at same day notice, much appreciated.
Wide and varied activities, though unsure how much Mam can access due to physical limitations.
Mam often praises the staff, adding that some have less patience than others while bathing and dressing her.
Overall the family is very happy with Mam's care.

My Mum was a resident at Scarbrough Court for several years and I have only the highest of praise for the Staff, Management and Facilities at this home. She was always treated with respect and the standard of care was second to none. The Staff really cared about the residents and went far beyond the
level of care expected. They went out of their way to ensure that I was fully informed of my Mum's condition and had all the information about her ongoing care. In addition, they are all really nice people. The home was always a happy and caring environment and staff and management were always willing to cater to any requests and address any concerns that were made. The facilities were always maintained to the highest standards and were continuously being updated. We looked at many homes before choosing Scarbrough court and it's safe to say that it was head and shoulders above the rest.

I am over the moon with this home. It was always good, but standards fell when the manager left, who was there when mum first went in. The new manager has made this home better than before. She has pushed to make it more personal and happier place. The activities are excellent and residents secure and
dignity is high on the agenda. Some of the changes I was concerned about proved to be of no concern as this home is now a great place and I am thankful mum is here.

Looks lovely, not happy with the overall care. Half an hour wait for a toilet call, dad in bed for 15 hours, residents wandering in and out of rooms, staff ignoring a resident dragging a deck chair through the hall.
Often short of staff so residents have to eat in bedrooms with no suitable table.

We have discussed the relative’s concerns with her and the resident. Due to a current investigation regarding the resident’s behaviour towards other residents, we perceive the above complaints as unreasonable and will be in further talks with the relative to solve the matter.

I reluctantly entered this care home, but found not what I thought. A very comfortable home with plenty of activities, very good food, good care all round and a happy, helpful atmosphere.

Good care being provided, stimulation and entertainment - excellent, meals provided - very good, building and accommodation - very good.


The maintenance of the building is poor, lighting outside when dark is usually not on, the door handle on my relations door has had a screw missing since he arrived,

it was reported that day. The court yard garden is badly maintained with weeds growing out of the paving. During the resent icy spell there was no salt put down or very little put down.

We find this care home welcoming and very friendly with the residents best interests at heart. It is always clean, warm with monitored rooms. We found there was a great improvement in our mothers health since admission. The facilities are all good and the interaction between staff and residents contribute

We are generally happy with my aunts overall well-being, she is very settled and happy in her environment. Enjoys her meals which she looks forward to every day, the activities programme is especially good. There have been 1 or 2 incidents due to the lack of communication from the care staff but that
has been sorted now. Despite being labelled some clothing (including 4 brand new cardigans) have gone missing.

Scarbrough Court is my first experience of a care home, and it is an excellent place.
My grandmother has lived here since February 2014 in the nursing care unit. The carers and nurses are wonderful and she enjoys living here. I visit her regularly and have often joined her at regular activities. We
have no complaints and it is a relief to our whole family that Scarbrough Court cares so well for her. We would recommend Scarbrough Court.
