Overall Experience

Good care being provided, stimulation and entertainment - excellent, meals provided - very good, building and accommodation - very good.

The maintenance of the building is poor, lighting outside when dark is usually not on, the door handle on my relations door has had a screw missing since he arrived, it was reported that day. The court yard garden is badly maintained with weeds growing out of the paving. During the resent icy spell there was no salt put down or very little put down.

We find this care home welcoming and very friendly with the residents best interests at heart. It is always clean, warm with monitored rooms. We found there was a great improvement in our mothers health since admission. The facilities are all good and the interaction between staff and residents contribute to their well-being.

We are generally happy with my aunts overall well-being, she is very settled and happy in her environment. Enjoys her meals which she looks forward to every day, the activities programme is especially good. There have been 1 or 2 incidents due to the lack of communication from the care staff but that has been sorted now. Despite being labelled some clothing (including 4 brand new cardigans) have gone missing.

On viewing and checking this care home in December 2014, with the intention of changing from a care home that my wife had been in for a fortnight, I was impressed by all aspects from accommodation, management and staff. That impression has continued all through 2015, and I am delighted that we made the change.

Overall Experience
Scarbrough Court is my first experience of a care home, and it is an excellent place.

My grandmother has lived here since February 2014 in the nursing care unit. The carers and nurses are wonderful and she enjoys living here. I visit her regularly and have often joined her at regular activities. We have no complaints and it is a relief to our whole family that Scarbrough Court cares so well for her. We would recommend Scarbrough Court.

Samantha BuxtonJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2015

I have worked within the Health and Social care sector for over 40 years, working initially as a carer and then in 2000 I began my career as a Registered Manager in a small independent care home based in the North West. Since then, I have managed a number of care homes, and in 2013, I relocated back to the North East. I began my role as Manager at Scarbrough Court in Cramlington, Northumberland, in May 2015.

Within Scarbrough Court, I am assisted in my role by an amazing team of people who are passionate about the care and support we offer our Residents, enabling our residents to enjoy the next chapter of their lives, building new friendships and interests.
