My father went in for two weeks respite as my mother was recovering from surgery and was not able to care for him.

I was a little apprehensive at first as leaving my Father, but he settled in quickly. From the start, I felt reassured by the friendliness of the staff. Each day I visited, Dad was well cared for and more than content. All the staff were lovely and really did care. I felt confident and happy that Dad was being well looked after by fantastic staff in a clean, safe and happy environment.

First visit to the home was good. The staff were excellent. Settled after a few days. Dissapointed that there wasn't a shower in the bathroom. Because of his sight and learning, he had his meals in the room, where as he is better to a table.

The staff, management & facility that is Bryn Celyn are Excellent in the nursing care & support that they provide my father. They are gentle, caring and truely professional in the nursing care they provide my father and all other residents that live there. I visit often. They provide dignity, sensitivity in all aspects. Everyone is treated equaly and so much is provided. Bryn Celyn was one of twelve nursing homes I visited when looking for a residence that could undertake his needs. Bryn Celyn was and is by far the best in South Wales.

Thank you Bryn Celyn.

My Dad John came to Bryn Celyn in August for three weeks respite. The only way I could describe the home is it's like a hotel. The staff members were absolutely fantastic with him and he loved his stay.My Dad lives with me permanently and this was his first time away from us in 14 months.Dad will definitely be returning for a break and is already looking forward to it.I would also like to praise Alison the care home manager who put my mind at ease and made the whole process so smooth.Every time I phoned I was constantly reassured that Dad was fine. His room was beautiful and cosy and every where was spotless. The Carers are constantly checking to see that the residents are ok and you could see that they definitely cared.Thank you again to the team at Bryn Celynxx

Pleased with the overall standard of care provided for my mother at Bryn Celyn.
The room provided is clean and comfortable and was refurbished prior to her moving into the home.
The communal areas are also well maintained and kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
The food provided is high quality with a good choice and variety of menu options.
The staff show a very caring attitude to the residents and the whole team put a lot of effort into providing entertainment and activities to keep the residents occupied during the day.

The cost of the additional fees is a concern , however the management are always willing to discuss this and any other concerns arising .

Medicines rarely on time. Morning meds sometimes late morning, for example.
Staff were very good once they arrived, but compared to last year the home didn't seem as well managed.

Food was excellent, except for overcooked mushy vegetables.

As an emergency respite for my Father, it was a wonderful home. The care and attention which was given was amazing. We can't thank everyone enough! I remember the nurse on duty the day we arrived, him asking my dad, "What can we do for you?" Dad replied - "A bath or a shower please?" the nurse replied, "Of course, we can do that for you". I knew then, my dad would be cared for with compassion. They did not fail! Maintenance team - Kind and helpful. Entertainment team - welcoming fun and activities most days, wonderful! Christmas, festive activities were fantastic! Everyone welcome. Food always looked nice and nutritious. Receptionist/Management team - welcoming, approachable and very helpful. Although my father was only at Bryn Celyn for a short while, his well-being and care was wonderful. We can thank you, all the staff, enough. Best wishes to all the staff for 2025!

My father has been at Bryn Celyn, Maesteg for a few months now. Every time I've visited, the staff greet you with a smile and are very approachable. I cannot stress enough how much of a pleasure it is to visit the home.
My father is very well cared for, always clean and well looked after and also his room is very neat and tidy. The food is excellent. There is a great selection of entertainment (especially with Christmas).

Thanks very much for your kindness and compassion all, especially working in what could be a stressful job.

I am the service user and have been at Bryn Celyn since August 2024. I was welcomed and settled into my room by the staff.
My room was prepared and decorated and I was allowed to make the room comfortable using personal items from my home.
Friends and family are welcome to visit at all reasonable times.

The charges to the home are high but I seem to get value for the fee paid.

Keep us well informed regarding any problems with Mother-in-law. She seems very happy and well cared for. The carers are always extremely patient with her. Plenty of activities to keep her entertained. The home arranges hospital visits regarding ambulance and chaperones when required. Our experience of the home is very good.

The home offers a warm, friendly environment, the upkeep of the home is maintained to a very high standard, inside and out.
The overall well-being of care and support needs are met. Consideration is given to individual preferences.
Many staff follow the person-centred plans, although do not always keep up with changes. Some training is required of the use of supporting an individual to insert hearring aids along with ensuring the aid is fully operational.

We, as a family, feel that the home meets the individual needs and would like to thank everyone for the kindness and support they offer.

My mother was very happy there and was looked after until the day she died, the best decision I made was for her to go there, recommend to anyone. The staff are very caring and helpful, upstairs and down, food is lovely and catered for her needs for diabetes.

My mother appears to be well cared for. There were lots of activities at the home before Christmas. As a family, we feel that we are included and kept up to date in all aspects of her care. My mother enjoys visiting the hairdresser, also enjoys the coffee mornings. The staff appear to interact well with the residents.

Stacey Morgan
Stacey MorganJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2026

I became part of Bryn Celyn Care Home in February 2026 after feeling straight away that this was more than a care home; it was a community. The warmth and familiarity you feel as soon as you walk in is what drew me here, and it’s something I work to uphold every day.

My journey in care began back in 2012, when I worked as a care assistant while studying at Swansea University. Those early experiences shaped everything that came after. I qualified in 2016 with a BSc in Mental Health Nursing and went on to support people with complex needs in nursing home settings. These experiences strengthened my belief that good leadership and well-supported teams make a meaningful difference to residents’ daily lives.

At Bryn Celyn, my priority is simple: to make sure residents feel truly at home. I know that moving into care isn’t always an easy decision, and that’s why creating a sense of belonging, purpose, and comfort matters so much to me. I like to be present in the home, chatting with residents, catching up with families, and supporting the team because feeling seen and heard makes a difference.

Supporting and developing the team is something I’m passionate about. When colleagues feel valued, confident, and encouraged, the whole home feels it. Kindness, familiarity, and community aren’t just words for us; they’re the way we work.

Outside of work, I’m a mum to twin daughters who keep me grounded, busy, and endlessly entertained. Family life reminds me every day why creating a warm, safe, and caring home for our residents is so important.
