Glanffrwd Care Home

The staff at Glanffrwd Care Home are excellent, very kind, hard-working and deserve a pay rise! I couldn't wish for better for my mother.

Under the current circumstances, the home is providing excellent care to my mother. Overall I am very happy with the service provided by Glanffrwd Care Home.

I would like to thank all the staff at Glanffrwyd Care Home for the wonderful care given to my mother over the last 12 months. She was very well looked after at all times and would constantly compliment the quality of the food! Every effort was made to ensure visiting was allowed during mum's last days and she was treated with nothing but respect. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who had to place a loved one into care as the care given is second to none.

We are very grateful to all the staff at Glanffrwd for looking after our mother especially this year with all the uncertainty, they have gone the extra mile. If we have any queries they are dealt with immediately. It means such a lot that our mother is being well cared for by friendly faces now that we are unable to visit. A huge thank you to them all for all their help and hard work.

The care and support of my mum has been outstanding. It hasn't been an easy time with covid, but it is a comfort knowing Mum is being well cared for. Sadly mum passed away on the 25th Nov 2020 all staff and management were so caring during this difficult time, I can't thank them enough.

The staff are always friendly and happy to help. My father-in-law is very happy, and we know that he is safe, secure and treated with dignity and respect.

Recently moved my mother into the home following my father's bereavement. Granffrwd has been supportive of my mother, her choices, and her family members at a difficult time which has been exacerbated by the pandemic. The care my mother has received has been fantastic, caring for her sounds which have now completely healed. All staff is caring, compassionate, and professional in their approach to care. My mother has now come to think of Glanffrwd as home although looking forward to a way out when we can.

Due to covid, there is only a short time I can comment on which is before shut down. I was very happy with the care and support of staff to myself and my husband. Since; he has been well cared for and protected through this difficult time.

All the staff of Glanffrwd Care Home Pencoed from the Manager to cleaners are doing a truly exceptional job of caring and looking after my wife. For 2 years I visited my wife every day at the home ( until the Covid 19 lock-down ) so I feel I am in a position to leave a factual positive review. I feel the Deputy Manager is extremely knowledgeable in Nursing and Medical procedures and I feel my wife is in the safest of hands.

The dedication and care provided by Glanffrwd Care Home is excellent. However, the ratio of care staff to residents is concerning, as it is inadequate and staff are constantly trying to meet the daily needs of all concerned.

All staff are extremely helpful to myself and my wife. My mother seems to be very happy and settled in Glanffrwd Care Home and the staff make great efforts to look after her very well.

My mother has been a resident at Glanffrwd Care Home for 4 years. She has very good care from all members of staff. They are all caring, compassionate and treat her with dignity. She is happy there and has settled well.

I am generally happy with the care my father has from the excellent staff at Glannffrwd. My only area for slight concern is having to ensure Dad gets his weekly shower. I know he sometimes refuses, however, I do feel reminders are necessary quite often. Would be great if staff could have a chat with him there, but I appreciate they are often too busy.

I am writing this during the Covid-19 pandemic. The home took the decision to lockdown early; this has protected the residents. Throughout, communication had been excellent; my dad has been wonderfully cared for, which has reassured our family no end. Thank you all so much.

My only concern is when agency staff care for Dad. They don't appear to read what Dad is really like, they often don't take time or care to do his hair as he has it or his clothes - sometimes there isn't a consistency of shared info - is it a training issue/supervision?

Mum's birthday was made into an amazing event, thanks to the food the staff provided, and the wonderful atmosphere Mum was made to feel really special.

I think this home is well run and the standard is very high. All the staff are very welcoming and caring, so is management.

Good and nice food.

The staff catered a birthday party for Mum, which was lovely.

Very impressed with this care home. Excellent standards in all respects, and thank you for taking care of a dear friend.
