Ty Gwynno Care Home offers residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care to up to 46 older people in Pontypridd.

The home is just outside the town centre, with a bus route into the high street where residents can enjoy shops and amenities. It is also half an hour’s drive from Cardiff. The home is in a quiet residential area with stunning views over the surrounding countryside.

Ty Gwynno Care Home is cheerfully decorated throughout its lounge and dining areas and its conservatory. Each bedroom is single and has a television point and WiFi, with a lift to bedrooms on the first floor. There is a large, landscaped garden with a seated patio area.

An activities coordinator organises a weekly timetable of activities, such as exercise classes, music and entertainment, gardening and quizzes.

Residents are involved in planning the menu, with all food being nutritionally balanced and dietary requirements accommodated.

I've said this before - I just wish we had put my mum in law in Ty Gwynno at the start of her care home journey . She has gone from a lonely unhappy lady to one who is constantly stimulated and encouraged to join in activities . She always looks nice and I have never ever witnessed her being treated
other than with the utmost respect and care . Plus affection as she loves to hold hands . As are all the residents . It surely must be the very best care home in Wales . The patience and fortitude of the staff shines through always . Cannot thank you all enough for the constancy and excellent care provided - special shout out to the activities co-ordinator who is a pocket rocket and amazing lady .

Ty Gwynno staff, put on a party for VE day with friends and guests invited along. It was a fab afternoon with many of the staff dressed as land army girls etc. Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful afternoon.

Ty Gwynno is a place of love and support. My husband has been here for 5 years now and during that time I have found the staff very caring and welcoming. They go out of their way to make our grandchildren feel at ease and welcome and now Ty Gwynno has added a play area for the children with lots of
lovely toys and books. There is always something going on and regular different entertainment for the residents and families to enjoy .Like most people we found having to put a loved one in a nursing home very difficult, but it was the best decision we made when we picked Ty Gwynno.

Ty Gwynno is an amazing home for my mother & the other residents. It is one big happy family, where residents are treated as individuals with their own unique personalities, interests & needs.
Staff ensure that my mother has opportunities to speak Welsh; helping with Welsh Wednesdays. Activities are
innovative, varied, regular & support residents' well-being. There are strong links with the local school & the children visit termly. The staff lead quizzes, games and numerous singers & bands visit regularly. There are a range of stimulating areas where families can spend time together & provide a change of scene, including the a renovated caravan & attractive gardens.
Staff give personalised care, mention my mother's home village, make her feel special & 'one of the girls'. They epitomise person-centred care. The nursing care is also excellent & proactive to support best health outcomes. I could not have found a better home for my mother. Diolch to an amazing team!

The care and compassion I've seen here is outstanding. This doesn't feel like a care home but a large house with lots of happy people living together. Staff are incredible and you can tell that they want to be there it's more than just a job to them and it shows.

My Mother arrived at Ty Gwynno in December the staff are exceptional, caring, friendly and professional.
She has taken time to settle in and has said she is very happy. This is remarkable for someone who has always resisted any type of help.
They encourage residents to engage in activities which are
very varied. Recently children from the local school came at Easter to sing with their beautiful Easter Bonnets.
Well done to all the staff who have worked so hard to make Mum feel at home.

My mum has been at Ty Gwynno for 18 months and I can't rate the staff highly enough. Everyday there's activities going on she has a better social life than me lol , its one big happy family , I visit once a month as I don't live near but when I phone they always put my mum on the phone so she can here

Ty Gwynno is a care home whose staff are caring, friendly and supportive not only for the residents but for family members as well. There are daily activities for residents to join in and also trips out. There is also entertainment where everyone can join in singing songs. Would recommend Ty Gwynno

My Father in law has now been with you over 2 years and it is one of the best choices I ever made. The quality of care and interaction from all the staff is amazing. Warm and friendly atmosphere whenever I visit. Mum is extremely well cared for and seems happy and content given her situation. Whenever possible she is involved in activities which she seems to enjoy.

Our aunt went into Ty Gwynno back in February,she was nervous and anxious about leaving her home,as this was a huge change and big decision!!
Well fast forward a couple of months and she's said to us why didn't I do this sooner!
She's settled in fantastically,the food,entertainment,everything is just
amazing!
The office staff were and are fantastic with us,helped us so much !
Over all we are absolutely thrilled with Ty Gwynno and it's the best decision for our aunt and look forward to many more coffee and cake chats when we visit!!

My Father only recently become a resident of Ty Gwynno but I can't speak highly enough of the team in terms of how much care and support they have shown, not only towards my father as they settled him to the home, but also towards us a family. Nothing ever seems to much for the team, they always have
a warm welcome and time to talk you when you visit and provide updates if you call. I would highly recommend this home.

A caring, friendly and wonderful team at Ty Gwynno provide amazing care for my Mum who has advanced Alzheimer's Disease. Mum is treated with kindness and respect in all aspects of her care. She is always clean and tidy and the staff are on hand at all times to help with meeting Mums needs.
The entertainment
at Ty Gwynno is first class with events and visits being planned all the time. The cinema at Ty Gwynno is wonderful and the home is always clean. There are improvements being made all the time for the comfort of the residents.
I never worry about Mum being looked after, I know the staff love all the residents and will always go the extra mile.
I cannot praise Ty Gwynno highly enough and am so grateful for everything they do. Thankyou

What can I say this amazing care home is the best the management to start with they are lovely and friendly when we arrive always make families welcome the care is fabulous the meals are great it's lovely and clean out loved ones are well looked after by all staff there is always something going on
