Overall Experience
Despite my best intentions I don't normally get round to leaving reviews, but having just visited a dear friend who has been at Ty gwynno for about a decade I feel compelled to.
The love and care she receives from all members of staff is absolutely outstanding.
Ty Gwynno genuinely feels like home. There are so many people who have worked there from the time we began visiting all those years ago and they are, without exception, cheerful, upbeat, warm and friendly to us as visitors, but more importantly with the residents.
It's a pleasure to spend time there and see the residents enjoying the company, the wonderful activities, the beautiful garden and the amazing outings.

We cannot thank you enough.

My husband has been a resident of Ty Gwynno for several years and has always been treated with love, care and respect. He is looked after like one of their family and I am welcomed at any time to visit. I am also treated so well from the caring staff. When weather permitting we love to sit in the beautiful garden. There is always something going on in the lounge or day trips for those who are able. Families are always welcomed and encouraged to join in.This is a very happy place and I would recommend Ty Gwynno to anyone. The managers and staff are so caring and treat everyone with kindness, respect and dignity.

The care, and consideration that my wife receives cannot be faulted or bettered. The staff of the home are meticulous in all that they do for her and it can be seen that she is happy and well taken care of. This allows me and our familly to be satisfied that the best care is always being carried out for her.

My father in law moved into Ty Gwynno from Essex so that we can keep a better eye on him and visit him more regularly.
He settled in from day 1 and is certainly enjoying the food - we've had to buy trousers in a bigger size.
The staff have been amazing in helping him feel comfortable and at home. He has plenty of 'male' company which is always a bonus.
We knew this was the right home for him as my mum has been a resident for almost 2 years now. The staff are wonderful and always go out of their way to make residents and family welcome.

We love you Ty Gwynno - keep up the good work

Ty Gwynno is such a fantastic care home with truly amazing staff, who genuinely love their jobs and care about each and every one of their residents.
There is always an amazing event or fundraising idea being planned for the benefit of the residents and such an array of activities for everyone.

The thought and attention to details in both big and small at the home daily is outstanding.

It's so good to be able to visit at any time and the staff are so friendly and supportive. It is painful to see a dearly loved friend needing a nursing home but we know that she is well looked after.I am impressed with the activities that take place, there is always a good singsong for the residents, the lounge area is always clean and tidy. When the weather is nice and warm there is a lovely area in the garden where the residents can sit. Also they have regular trips out of the home to different places, this can only help with the residents mental wellbeing. All in all i am very thankful that my friend has a place that she be safe in.

Since my Uncle moved into Ty Gwynno he has begun living again. The team have encouraged him to be out of his bed and even taken him on a trip, less than a week of being there.
As a family we are so grateful that he has his life back and is not confined to his bed or room.

We were welcomed as a family when my uncle moved into and the whole team have been so supportive and caring. Thank you just isn't enough.

My dad moved into Ty Gwynno in January 2026. He has settled so well, seems very happy and loves the food, activities and companionship. I was so worried about residential care and I needn't have been. I'm reassured that he's happy, settled and receiving everything he needs. Thank you staff at Ty Gwynno for looking after dad so well.

We travelled down from Nottinghamshire to visit my long time friend, a resident of Ty Gwynno, on her birthday. As always, we were made most welcome by the lovely staff. The home was warm, welcoming and relaxed. My friend was looking her old happy self, settled and comfortable. A lovely afternoon tea had been provided to celebrate the birthday, taken in a small private lounge area. Excellent. We continue to be impressed by the care and attention shown towards the residents, friends and families.

Having worked in adult social care for over 30 years, I have considerable professional as well as personal experience of care homes. Ty Gwynno ranks up there with the best homes I have visited.

Good continuity of staff means consistent understanding of resident needs and also the ability to anticipate requirements of those with dementia. I sense a positive atmosphere, with people seeming genuinely engaged and I am impressed with the varied activities on offer.

Overall Experience
Ty Gwynno is an amazing home for my mother & the other residents. It is one big happy family, where residents are treated as individuals with their own unique personalities, interests & needs.
Staff ensure that my mother has opportunities to speak Welsh; helping with Welsh Wednesdays. Activities are innovative, varied, regular & support residents' well-being. There are strong links with the local school & the children visit termly. The staff lead quizzes, games and numerous singers & bands visit regularly. There are a range of stimulating areas where families can spend time together & provide a change of scene, including the a renovated caravan & attractive gardens.

Staff give personalised care, mention my mother's home village, make her feel special & 'one of the girls'. They epitomise person-centred care. The nursing care is also excellent & proactive to support best health outcomes. I could not have found a better home for my mother. Diolch to an amazing team!

My Mother arrived at Ty Gwynno in December the staff are exceptional, caring, friendly and professional.
She has taken time to settle in and has said she is very happy. This is remarkable for someone who has always resisted any type of help.
They encourage residents to engage in activities which are very varied. Recently children from the local school came at Easter to sing with their beautiful Easter Bonnets.

Well done to all the staff who have worked so hard to make Mum feel at home.
