My nan was welcomed into the Ty Gwynno family just before Christmas 2019 and has flourished day by day. People talk to her and care about her and want to brighten up every day for her. Through the pandemic, she has been without visits but has not been alone. Staff and residents have gone above and beyond to make sure they are not only caring for the residents but spending time talking to each and every one of them..dancing with them...playing games...celebrating birthdays and much more. I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart that my nans Ty Gwynno family is there for her each and every day pandemic or no pandemic she's very lucky to be in a place that values her. Thank you.

My mother was sent here after being released from the hospital and despite the current issues of lockdown, I cannot fault the way she has been treated and the support we have had. A big plus is that we are able to have regular face time calls with her and the staff are so exceptionally helpful. Their use of social media is also a hidden benefit, as I've been able to share this with family members who can also see her progress.

I am truly happy that we chose Ty Gwynno as my mothers new home. It was the first home I visited and immediately on entering I felt the care and warmth there. From the happy homely decor to the smiling helpful staff. The rooms are lovely and the food looks great. Everyone, there is amazing and always doing some sort of activities with the residents.

There are other care homes and there are other caring staff but there is only one Team Ty Gwynno.
The team here show such care and compassion not only to the residents but also to the families and friends visiting them.

Team Ty Gwynno are truly the best of the best.

I have nothing but praise and admiration for all the staff who have been tremendous in these very difficult times. They keep us informed of how my mother-in-law is, readily listen to my numerous questions since we were unable to visit prior to admission because of lockdown and a transfer straight from hospital. Sorry about the questions. They treat the residents like family, I cannot praise them too highly. There are numerous activities which is so nice to see. The activities lady is just the best. I had previous experience of care homes and was not looking forward to this journey but must say the experience at Ty Gwynno has completely changed my mind. A big thank you to all and we look forward to meeting one day in the not too distant future. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you.

The staff at this nursing home are absolutely fantastic, could not praise them enough. During this very difficult time of not being able to see my mum they have been very patient and understanding of my many phone calls and queries. The activities the home provides for residents is astounding, the nurses are so very helpful and patient. My mum suffers from dementia and the staff deal with her very well and are always open to suggestions and listen to suggestions on how to deal with her care.

Ty Gwynno was recommended to our family by a previous residents’ family, and we will recommend now too.
I was struck by how well the staff knew the residents, the transparency for families, and how each person was made to feel like the home was their own.
I cannot think of anything else that my grandparent could’ve wanted, especially during the final days. The staff displayed enormous empathy, care, sensitivity and respect.

Nobody wants their relative to go into a home, and they understood our predicament and offered plenty of support. Thank you.

My elderly cousin has been at Ty Gwynno many years. She is well cared for. Staff are supportive and caring, answering my concerns when I have them. My cousin is very happy here, giving us, her remaining family, comfort that she is being looked after. I would recommend a loved one residing here without concern for their welfare. Well done all.

Every time I visit here the staff are busy looking after, feeding and entertaining the people living here. They are always patient, full of smiles and quick to explain how your relative is getting on. The food is second to none as meals are cooked especially for the person concerned (my Uncle cannot swallow and his meals are always softened, fantastic, it means he is able to get his nourishment). This is a marvellous nursing home with lovely staff.

I find carers very friendly and know all patients however senior staff keep well out of way even if visiting never acknowledge me. To me, it is simple things need more thought. I visit my "aunt" (actually late mother's cousin) and she will say I wonder what we got to eat, and I say it says brunch as always! She says they serve up lots of cheese/beans, spaghetti on toast. Little more thought needs to go into catering, she's got no teeth but they give her boiled egg and toast, why not bread and butter?

Ty Gwynno is a nice care home with friendly and very approachable staff. I've visited many care homes to understand, but the grandest don't always have the best care. The care that I see at Ty Gwynno is very good. Residents, including my mother, can be difficult and challenging. However, staff aren't phased by this. The home is warm and welcoming, and residents have good relationships with the staff. I'd have no hesitation in recommending.

The best thing about Ty Gwynno is the staff, giving care and support to the residents. They are warm, friendly, caring and do the very best job they can in a very pressured environment. If there were more of these lovely people on each shift, I feel the residents would benefit hugely on a social level, as time pressure seems to preclude quality 1:1 time.

The staff are very helpful and will do their best to answer any queries in an accurate and prompt manner. The staff engage in a positive manner with all residents. Residents are encouraged to participate in any activities taking place in the Home. Residents wants and needs are a priority and if there is an activity that a resident would rather watch than participate in, that is fine.
Interaction with staff and residents is constant and there is a very positive feel about the place.
Activities take place on a daily basis and there always seems to be something going on.
Residents are given a choice of what to eat at mealtimes.

Staff are very open and honest in their conversations with families of the resident.
