Since my mother-in-law has been in the home I have found all the staff very friendly, helpful and very caring to her. The home is always very well kept and all staff are busy at all times when we visit. We are also notified of any changes to her health and medication. We are really happy that she is being cared for so well.

What I really want to say; is my husband is looked after so well. The staff are wonderful and if ever I need any care myself, I would only ever come to Ty Gwynno. All my family feel the same. The manager is a very nice person, and there is nothing she wouldn’t do to help. I was very pleased when she did the sponsored swim to raise money for the home. I also like to join in with the home's activities, there is always lots of fun going on.

Reply from Honor Keatley, Managing Director at Ty Gwynno Care Home

What a wonderful review and so good to hear how happy you are that your husband is so well looked after. The team do seem to fully understand that it is not only about creating somewhere lovely for our residents to live but also somewhere that families and friends are happy to spend time. Many thanks for taking the time to write this review.

Very capable staff, thorough and caring. My mother is well looked after and monitored well. I am also pleased with the way the home deal with financial management of her money. The only criticism is her room is dark and not well lit.

Reply from Honor Keatley, Managing Director at Ty Gwynno Care Home

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry to hear that there are issues with the light in your mother's room, I will raise this with the Home. It is good to read, however, that your mother is well looked after by our team.

I love it here, I have made friends with a lot of people, I have got loads of friends. We have a lot of entertainment. I did not have anyone to talk to, but the staff are great upstairs and downstairs. I am not lonely anymore, I did not have anyone until I came here and I love it. Overall Experience
I first became involved with Ty Gwynno when my mum joined the home in December 2015. Mum has since passed away but I have continued to visit most Fridays, to help with the knitting group.
Staff attitude to the residents is very impressive - they are hard-working, cheerful and naturally affectionate towards their charges. Residents are treated as individuals and their needs are always taken seriously. The atmosphere is always upbeat and there is a lot of laughter in the home - which was the first impression I had of the place, which made me feel it was the right place for my mum.

Staff work so hard to keep the residents entertained and the variety of events devised is impressive. These ranged last year from involvement in the RSPB garden bird survey to an appearance from an Elvis impersonator which was hugely popular. Miniature ponies also visited and activities such as gardening, writing poetry and cookery happen regularly. A lot of thought goes into all aspects of care.

We visit our sister as often as we can and always found the staff and facilities very good. From the chef who offers us tea or coffee to the staff that put on the different things that are going on to keep the patients occupied which I think is essential because I think there is nothing worse for people to be left with nothing to occupy their minds. From the cleaners down everyone is very helpful and good. Myself, I am 85 yrs young.
