Dad had complex needs but the staff understood his distress and the reason why. They were friendly, spoke to us with good eye contact, genuine warmth and understanding. Even though they were busy the staff took the trouble to spend time to ask if I needed tea, sandwiches. They gave Dad regular care, checked him regularly, kept clothes changed, etc., spoke to him when they were going to do things, they were respectful and kind. Although his stay was short, he was well cared for, and that was much appreciated by his family. (Unable to properly assess Facilities and Food and Drink categories, so marked as 'Good').

Mum has been a resident in Quarry Hall for 4 years. She has always been very well looked after. The nursing staff and general staff and carers are excellent, they are extremely caring and have looked after Mum with a kindness and professionalism that is second to none. This has made our family really happy that we chose Quarry Hall for Mum. Although Mum is now totally dependant on the care she receives she is happy and content.

My mum went into Quarry Hall Care Home in May and looked after fantastically. She has a lovely room with a separate toilet and basin, which is always spotlessly clean. The food is very varied and of good quality. As for the staff, what a wonderful set of people. They are all so attentive and kind to everyone, and that includes the families.

My mum had to be moved to Quarry Hall for dementia nursing care, and I can’t thank the staff enough for all they do for her. She has settled in very well and loves all the staff. She particularly enjoys taking part in the activities.

My aunt has been in Quarry Hall for a few months. From the day the home administrator showed me around, I could tell she would fit in perfectly, and Quarry Hall was the best home - I wasn't wrong. My auntie seems as happy as she was at her own home. I have to say the activities lady is outstanding, she goes above and beyond, and the first few weeks, my auntie was very anxious, but she helped my auntie settle in and eased her anxiety. I recently visited the home, and I was informed that my auntie had been out for the day with the activity lady and her new colleague, who together, they seem amazing. My auntie is always out on day trips or doing activities, and as a family, this is nice to see as my auntie has always had issues with socialising.

Big thumbs up, Quarry Hall.

I am very happy with my father's move from home to Quarry Hall because it is situated about one mile from my house, which makes visiting Dad on a daily basis, quite easy. Whilst there, I find the staff most welcoming and very competent in their duties. They all have been very attentive to my requests to encourage my father to partake more in the daily activities of the home and I feel confident that my father is in a good situation regarding treatment, feeding and hygiene. All in all, I am left feeling well pleased with Dad's present and future prospects at the home.

My mum was in Quarry Hall for 10 days on respite. Unfortunately, she was traumatised by her experience and the lack of care and support she received. She was provided with a call button only to find when she used it there was either no response or was told they were busy and would be back but didn’t return. For someone reliant on nursing care this is not acceptable. Over the 10-day stay, she did not have a shower, despite us being shown a very impressive shower room.
Having viewed the home prior to her stay, it’s fair to say we were optimistic that it would be a good experience for her, the facilities looked great.

This first experience of a Care Home fell extremely short of our expectations and my mum now refuses to consider respite care anywhere in the future. Overall very poor experience.

Our brother has only been at Quarry Hall a short time, in that time, all the staff caring for him have shown him great kindness and attention to his needs. He is not really confident having been at Quarry Hall for such a short space of time, however, the staff are so supportive and their ability to look at his needs and awareness of the uniqueness that makes each one of us, is really helpful to us and him.

The local carers and staff are trying their best to implement safe visits and support to family and friends. Unfortunately, HC-One is such a large concern and managed from headquarters, that communication from headquarters to care homes is very poor. Liaising with local government to implement changes is so slow that changes take weeks. This had a big impact on the well-being of all families.

I have found all staff (including catering, cleaners and maintenance) very caring and approachable. During the lockdown, much love and care in keeping residents entertained and involved. I cannot praise the staff enough for working through the pandemic with due care and diligence.

The care my father has received has always been brilliant. It continues to be brilliant but I do wish something could have been done to allow me to visit during lockdown. My father is bedbound and cannot be moved to a window for visits. I find it difficult to get hold of and speak to the right people but when I have, they have been very helpful and understanding.

I am extremely impressed by all the staff and the care they provide is above and beyond the call of duty. They keep me informed on all aspects of Mum's care and my mum appears happy and her care needs are met daily. Excellent care provided to Mum and our family. I appreciate all the extra work that's been undertaken willingly by all staff of the care home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which is still current.
