Good care for my aunt. Very personal attention to care, good hospitality for visitors and other members/patients in their care. A great day for her 100th birthday!
Llys-y-Tywysog has been the home of my mother-in-law since November last year, having moved from a council-run care home for rehabilitation following a stay in the hospital due to a fall, in the hope of her returning home. However, her mobility and risk of falls meant this could not happen. We chose Llys-y-Tywysog because of its high reviews and being so close for us to visit. The transition has not been an easy one due to the changing needs of my mother-in-law, with the result that she is now bedbound and on a pureed diet. The staff have worked consistently hard to manage her difficulties in a very safe and clean environment. My mother-in-law is very nervous about being hoisted but the staff encourage her to leave her room when they feel it's beneficial, to join the dining room for lunch and the concerts that they have. The activities shown on the weekly programme are fantastic for many of the residents. The homes open visiting is extremely advantageous. We celebrated her 95th birthday in the upstairs lounge which was very special and those memories will be held for years to come.
Thank you for your kind words, I agree moments which can last forever such as birthday celebrations are of the utmost importance and we are glad we were able to support with these moments being captured.
A wonderful birthday celebration for a 100th birthday, a lovely buffet was provided and decorated the rooms were beautiful. Staff are always very accommodating and caring. Excellent care is given at all times.
Amazing place, feels more like a hotel than a home.
Enjoyed a lovely buffet, lots of variety with something to suit every palate. The audience enjoyed the entertainment. The staff had made a big effort to decorate the dining room with balloons. The cakes were delicious. Appreciated the opportunity to use a lounge upstairs for chatting with family and having tea and coffee afterwards. (Minor problem- The two teapots we were given had hot water on the side, one should have been marked tea).
Thank you so much for your kind review. It was a wonderful day celebrating a 100th Birthday and enjoyed by all.
Very helpful, and clean and the food is lovely. My mum has settled in better than I thought. Everyone has taken a personal interest in her well-being.

The staff have been so kind, thoughtful, helpful, respectful and professional in looking after my mum. The home is clean and the food is exceptional, letting my mother choose encourages her to eat when she has no appetite. My mother has felt cared for, safe and respected. Many Thanks.
Thank you so much for your review, every part of the care we provide is important. Mum came in for respite Jubilee week for the first time and really enjoyed it. She Facetimes us on the Wednesday and talked so much that the battery went flat on her tablet. Mum came back on the 3rd of July for ten days, and when I picked her up, she was crying, saying she wanted to stay with her friends - bless her. So the following week, I got in touch with my social worker, and Mum moved in here the following Monday, 18th July. Mum loves the food and the company and loves the staff. The activities are also fab, and they all get involved.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Llys-Y-Tywysog. We were delighted when mum returned and so pleased she is so happy and settled with us. It is wonderful to see residents forming friendships and lovely to see her enjoying the activities and the home life.
Our family attended the summer maritime-themed BBQ and had a very enjoyable experience. The food was excellent and varied, and all tastes were catered for. It was lovely to have musical entertainment, and the staff ensured everyone was ok and provided shade where necessary. My mother thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you for taking the time to feedback. We are so pleased you had a great time at the recent event. It is lovely when family members can attend and join in the life of the home.
My nana initially came for a respite stay but enjoyed it so much that she asked if she could become a full-time resident. She loves all the staff and is so well looked after. She has made friends and has company all day. She loves the activities too. It's the perfect place for her to live with dignity. We haven't seen her this happy and chatty in years! Thank you!
This is such lovely feedback, thank you. It does often happen that residents come for respite and stay as they make friends and love all that is going on in the home. The team will be so pleased to hear your feedback.
