I am more than happy with the standard of care my mother is receiving. All Staff are very professional, approachable and friendly. They all go out of their way to acknowledge you while visiting. My mother has been a resident for just over a year now and settled in quite quickly. She has become more
social since being here and is enjoying the entertainment, activities and mixing with other residents. As I leave after a visit, she always asks if she can go back to the day room to be with her friends, which is comforting knowing she is happy. Also on many occasions when visiting, I have heard my Mother praising members of staff, telling them that they are good to her. I would like to say a big Thank you to all the staff, and I would have no hesitation recommending Llys y Tywysog to anyone needing their care.

Llys-y-Tywysog is a very happy inviting care home where staff are helpful and approachable. Residents seem like they feel at home and look happy. The areas in the home are always warm and clean with plenty of information displayed for visitors. The entertainment and activities for residents are excellent
and if I need care in the future I would be more than happy to spend my time at Llys-y-Tywysog.

My opinion which I wrote a few months ago has not changed. The care and facilities are administered by caring friendly staff, all concerns are dealt with as they occur by the home manager. When carers are at a premium the staff are hard-working.

Greeted on our first visit with a warm welcome. Interesting discussion about weekend activities for residents as we were shown to the room and impressed by the kind care, always a smile offered at all times to all residents we came across during the afternoon. Well done and keep up the good work!

Mum has been a resident for a year and has never complained about the staff or the home itself. She has advanced dementia and mobility issues. She has only good things to say about the staff and enjoys her food there. When we leave after a visit she says don't worry about me there is always someone
popping in for a chat, which is lovely to hear. Any changes in her condition and she sees a Doctor and the family are informed. First class service.

The care of my mother is excellent. I will say, however, as a self-funder the cost of care is eye wateringly expensive. Although we understand that mum is receiving the best care possible.
The staff work extremely hard and go above and beyond what is expected of them.

Firstly I have to say that the manager of Llys-y-Tywysog is truly excellent. She is organised and her communication is second to none e.g. she always keeps you informed. The other staff are all so kind and lovely to my mum. The location and upkeep of the home is very good. When I first visited I has
such a good feeling and knew it would be right for mum. She is settling in so well. Thank you Llys-y-Tywysog.

My mother has been a residnet for 3 years and all of the staff, without expectation, have always treated her with the greater of respect and always given her the very best of care. It may be unfair to single our some staff as all are so good but certain staff and the chef are all exceptional. I cannot
recommend Llys-y-Tywysog highly enough to anyone looking at a care home.

The staff at Llys-y-Twysog were friendly and helpful, especially the senior carer and the manager.
The rooms I saw were of a nice size, full of light and airy. The corridors were clean and clear and the décor was pleasant. The whole building was welcoming with flowers in the foyer and a friendly
smile to greet me at the door.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.929)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.929) out of 10 for Barchester Llys-y-Tywysog is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 47 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.929 for Barchester Llys-y-Tywysog is calculated as follows: ( (522 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 561 Ratings = 4.929
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Llys-y-Tywysog is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
