My mum was a resident for palliative care for roughly 3 months. All staff were so caring and supportive to her and also to the family. Nothing was too much trouble. Her final journey was so respectful and dignified. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for her.

Mum went in as an emergency respite and was welcomed with open arms. Access to her is very good and privacy always provided. Mum always looks clean and tidy and there have been no physical changes. She eats well and I am told she involves herself in all activities, music and dancing being particular
favourites in the wide variety provided. As an only son, with my dad (Mum's carer) in hospital for a lengthy period, it has been comforting knowing Mum is being very well cared for.

A welcoming, caring environment which my aunt has been very fortunate to be a resident. The staff always have a smile.
The place is always clean and fresh and feels homely.
The care and love given to my Aunt has been exemplary with every thought towards my Aunts wellbeing e.g. lending a DVD player
and films that she mentioned she has always liked.
We can’t thank the staff enough for making my Aunt feel happy, relaxed and valued at the Plas Cwm Carw with the nursing staff and management all taking expert care and time for her and her needs.

My mother was admitted in August 2021 with dementia. Due to Covid, we couldn’t see her in the home or even help her settle into her room. We sent items with her, framed photographs, and other items which would have been familiar to her. My father was allowed to see her in the hut in the garden once
a week and I saw her twice up until December 2021 when she became ill with a chest infection. She later developed pneumonia and sadly died in January. She never settled in the home and when we did see her, she had ‘ lost’ her false teeth and was also wearing clothes that didn’t belong to her. The most upsetting thing was that no one knew where the family photos were. I was told no one had ever seen them and I am so sad to think of the months she was there with no familiar faces in her room.

I just can’t praise the staff enough, I haven’t been able to see my mum for 12 weeks now as my sister is the nominated weekly visitor. But they make sure I get weekly FaceTime calls with mum and her and send me the most beautiful photos of my mum taking part in all sorts of fun activities.


My mother’s

life is now full of fun, laughter, company and love, she was so sad and lonely before coming to Plas Cwn Carw. I have not seen my mother this happy since my dad died and it’s down to the wonderful care she receives. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for keeping her safe and making her smile.

Mum suffers from dementia and has been a resident at Plas Cwm Carw for the past 18 months. It has been difficult during Covid times and the fact that I live in England but am regularly able to speak to mum on video calls. The staff are very helpful and friendly and I’m impressed with the love and care

Both my parents moved to the home in August. Sadly, my mum passed away leaving my dad. The grief and trauma was overwhelming especially as my dad suffers from Alzheimer's. However, all those worries were put at ease by the professionalism of the management team and staff at Plas Cwm Carw Care Home.
The team have been supportive to my dad and family through this difficult time and very approachable at all times. Dad is now settling in and for this, I would thank every member of the team at the home.

What a wonderful care team in these trying times, Mum needed a lot of attention after having a nasty fall and breaking her hip and pelvis. Plas Cwm Carw have been exceptional in their care for her. With the onset of dementia, this has been a hard time for all but they have shown us how good and well-practiced
they are at these trying times, even with the hassle of covid testing during visits. Would highly recommend to all others to consider this easy to get to central location for Port Talbot and the surrounding area.

With Covid-19 and its disruption and lack of guidance from health and local authorities, the staff performed well. It must be hoped that as times improve, the home will return to its pre-covid state where residents and staff were positive and contented.

What a wonderful care home, I really cannot praise the staff enough for their kindness and caring ways. Although my mum has only been here a short while after having her moved from another care home, your staff have excelled themselves in making her feel at home here. I cannot find any fault in their
excellent service, professionalism and manner in which they run the home. All I can say is I wish my mum had come here in the beginning of her care home days, it is that lovely. Excellent home, facilities and staff who care so much and treat everyone with much dignity.

All staff at Plas Cwm Carw Care Home has been amazing during this difficult period. They have been accommodating to family members by showing me photos of the home (no indoor visits) and are very accommodating in arranging visits. My sister is a resident and speaks highly of the staff, food, activities
- especially concerts. From my observations, my sister is happy, treated with dignity and respect and couldn't ask for more. When I leave her after a visit, she is always smiling and willing to go with her carer. I could not ask for more!

My mum was extremely reluctant to leave her home and the care she was having while there, left a lot to be desired. She arrived at Plas Cwm Carw in April and even with restrictions due to COVID she started to thrive. To see her now is wonderful. She looks 20 years younger and that’s because she’s being
looked after so well. She’s happy, laughing and enjoying her life for the first time in ages and that’s all down to the wonderful staff. My mum and us as a family can’t praise them enough.

My brother has been in this home for 4 years, within these 4 years I have been satisfied with this care home, being Plas Cwm Carw. I find the staff are very good at their job and everything I have approached them; they have given me peace of mind. I would say that the only thing I would like is for
my brother not to have to go down the corridor to shower as there is quite a big ensuite in his room for a small change. Thank you.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. All en-suites in Plas Cwm Carw have a toilet and sink for handwashing; none of them have bathing or shower facilities however, the shower room is opposite this gentleman’s bedroom so he does not need to mobilise a significant distance. We also have a bathroom with a bath on the same side of the corridor to his bedroom.

Although I have been unable to visit my husband owing to Covid since March this year. I am sure that the high standards and quality of care has remained high as before Covid took hold. When I telephone to see how my husband is coping etc, the staff could not be more helpful, caring and informative considering

My grandmother has been a resident at this care home for just over a year. I have to say that the staff have been amazing in all aspects of my nan's care. They are all caring, loving and not just supportive to my nan's needs, but us as a family.
My first visit to see the home, I was greeted by a very
knowledgable and friendly manager plus admin staff. I later found out she had only been employed for 10 weeks. Fabulous from start to present.
