Trafalgar Park Care Home, located in the village of Nelson, near Caerphilly, provides high quality personalised residential, nursing and dementia care to older people.

The purpose-built friendly and welcoming care home has a café, large landscaped garden and patio, pub, tea room, hair salon and quiet room. There is also a range of comfortable en-suite bedrooms, suitable to all tastes.

On top of this, Trafalgar Park boasts a selection of specially designed dining areas that provide the perfect space to share meals with fellow residents or welcome family and friends for those special occasions. The catering team prides itself on ensuring that each meal is an enjoyable experience for every resident and visitor, offering a varied and delicious menu.

Taking the time to learn about each resident’s individual hobbies and interests, the team create a varied and enriching lifestyle programme full of activities and events to get involved in, reflective of each person's hobbies and interests. In addition to the range of activities available, residents are also encouraged to take an active role in the Nelson community.

As a visitor to friends, I have always received a warm welcome and had tea and cake with my friends. One had a birthday recently and was given a cake. The public rooms on the first floor are small and cosy, better than large and impersonal. My friends say the food is good and they are warm and comfortable.
The staff are always very accommodating.

All the staff were warm and welcoming and really to answer any questions no task was too small. The care home is in a lovely place with a great atmosphere and my nana couldn't say a bad word, the food in particular highlighted and mentioned many times. It is wonderful to know that both my nana and grandad
are in the care of such lovely staff.

If I was going into a care home this would be the one that I would go in. The staff are great and very caring to all the visitors that go to see my friends and my friends are very happy in there.

On first visiting the welcome was very warm. I knew immediately this was the place for my cousin. All staff are very friendly and approachable. I would like to see her have more fresh air if possible. She is always in the one lounge constantly.

Trafalgar Park Care Home - their staff are amazing they take very good care of my mother in law. They are easily approachable so my mother in law is happy to be there. We as a family feel better knowing she is in a good environment and also has lots of activities going on. We especially enjoyed the

Visiting a friend, found staff extremely helpful and friendly. The care home was very clean. The staff were very attentive and caring to the residents. They were all enjoying one-to-one games etc. staff were very aware of to stimulate the residents. Not marked a few of the ratings that I'm not aware

Lovely care home. Clean and bright. Nice rooms for residents. Care staff are brilliant; caring, welcoming, friendly, supportive and experienced. Communicate well with residents and relatives. Always willing to help and answer any questions. Very accommodating in regards to visiting times and length
of stay. Good food with menu choices. Would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.

Having been unable to visit for quite a long period, we were very pleased with our aunt. She looks very well, very chatty and very pleased to see us. Very pleasant welcome from the carers, who were also pleased to see us after a long absence.
