Trafalgar Park Care Home, located in the village of Nelson, near Caerphilly, provides high quality personalised residential, nursing and dementia care to older people.

The purpose-built friendly and welcoming care home has a café, large landscaped garden and patio, pub, tea room, hair salon and quiet room. There is also a range of comfortable en-suite bedrooms, suitable to all tastes.

On top of this, Trafalgar Park boasts a selection of specially designed dining areas that provide the perfect space to share meals with fellow residents or welcome family and friends for those special occasions. The catering team prides itself on ensuring that each meal is an enjoyable experience for every resident and visitor, offering a varied and delicious menu.

Taking the time to learn about each resident’s individual hobbies and interests, the team create a varied and enriching lifestyle programme full of activities and events to get involved in, reflective of each person's hobbies and interests. In addition to the range of activities available, residents are also encouraged to take an active role in the Nelson community.

Trafalgar Park Care Home staff are hardworking, very caring and always happy to assist residents and visitors. All carers know the residents' names, even when they work in other parts of the care home. The staff treat all with respect and affection. It took time and patience for Mam to settle and this
is understandable. Mam has now another extended family at Trafalgar Park. Can't thank the staff enough. Big, massive thank you to all.

My father has been resident for just over 12 months. In all that time he has been treated with love and respect, he tells us how happy he is to be there. On my visits the staff are all attentive and polite, I cannot fault the care he receives. 10/10 from me!

Overall, a good home with caring staff. Mum wears hearing aids, and we are having a lot of trouble ensuring the staff change and give them to her every day. Most days, she is not given them in a timely manner (when dressing). The room is very nice, and the food and beverages are very well-managed. The
staff are excellent. On the whole, everyone knows my mother and is really pleasant.

I came to visit my friend on the 3rd of February, and as usual, the staff were polite, courteous and welcoming. My friend looked better than my last visit when she was recovering from a UTI and a recent fall. She was happy and chatty. She had just eaten her lunch which she said was very nice, especially

From first viewing the room and care home before admission, we were so impressed. The staff are so caring, nothing is too much trouble. The residents are so well looked after, it puts my mind at ease knowing everyone is treated with dignity. In my opinion, Trafalgar Park is an amazing care home.

As soon as I walk in the very friendly staff made sure I'm taken to my aunt's room. During my visit, I'm offered tea and have a lovely chat about my aunt. Her health, diet and needs are always updated and my input is always noted. All the staff that I have been involved with are so caring and very friendly,
this comes across in my aunt's opinion too. She feels so comfortable with each one. I personally have many chats with one member of staff in particular, my favourite.

I am always made welcome at the main entrance and then at my sister's room. The staff always make sure that my sister chooses which room she has her visitors in if she wants to have some privacy. She is always looking fresh, clean and her clothes are chosen with care. She enjoys the meals which are
always different from day to day and the carers are ever ready to attend her every request. The carers are always cheerful, helpful and understanding of her particular needs.

Mam has been here since August 2022 and from day one we have felt like one of the family. The staff are all special and it's so hard to single anyone out, they keep me reassured and informed. I'm happy they are doing all they can to keep mam safe and comfortable. Always have a greeting and a smile.
