Over the past four months, positive improvements have taken place. Current staff and newer staff are evident in all area of home. They appear more settled and working more conclusively as a team. A much more positive attitude towards training. Residents individual needs and collective needs are being
met and the atmosphere is much calmer, happier and related in a positive way. Manager is attentive, well respected and shows a desire to offer best care, respect and dignity to all.

My wife went into Fairview Care Home in July 2018. Since then she has been looked after extremely well, I cannot thank all the staff enough. There has been issues recently with managerial changes and ongoing changes (for the better), but I can honestly say these have not affected my wife. From the skills
of the nurses to the patience and understanding of the carers, to the intelligence of the domestic staff, to the excellent laundry and kitchen workers. I have no doubt in recommending Fairview. I have total faith in my wife's care and security.

From day 1, I have found the staff helpful and interested in making sure my aunt is as happy and contented as she can be. The staff appear to interact well with both her and other residents and every attempt is made to provide stimulus in what are very difficult circumstances. My aunt often comments
that the meals are good and the staff are very nice. Staff keep me appraised of any issues that arise.

My husband passed away in August 2018 after spending 4 1/2 years living in Fairview Care Home where he was looked after extremely well. His end of life was very peaceful and dignified and because of the lovely staff a very moving experience. These guys work very very hard, yet still retain the human
touch, for which myself and my family will always be very grateful.

Despite a change of management, current staff have worked hard to maintain good standards of care and communication with residents and their families. I am happy to leave my mum knowing that the staff are caring and treat her with the dignity and respect she deserves.

My grandmother was a resident in Fairview care home for 2 years and she fairly enjoyed her time there with friendly staff and loved her activities.

Whilst receiving end of life care she was treated with dignity and made very comfortable and pain-free, the staff took the time to explain the process

well to my family and we were made to feel at ease in the knowledge that my grandmother was not in pain or suffering.

Thanks again to all staff.

My sister was a resident at Fairview Care Home for 4 and a half years. Her room was well decorated with its own ensuite and we were able to add some items to help make her feel even more at home. She greatly enjoyed the view from the room onto the well-maintained garden area.

The home has a friendly

atmosphere. The communal facilities are excellent and there were always thing happening to entertain the residents and retain their interest. A high standard of cleanliness was maintained at all times. The quality and choice of food was excellent.

When my sister's health began to deteriorate everything possible was done to help her and the staff were so very kind and thoughtful towards all the family which was a great help. Fairview has very kind and caring staff who always treated my sister with dignity, respect and understanding.

Staff are friendly and helpful - very patient with residents and always willing to take the time to inform you how the resident is doing - keen to learn personal details to interact with the resident.
The home is very clean and maintained.
There are always staff on hand looking after residents.
Management
are very approachable. I would recommend the home to family and friends who require respite or long-term care.

My mum was a resident at Fairview for 4 1/2 years, she considered it her home and enjoyed many activities and outings.
Over this period, the home has continuously strived to improve the environment and facilities.
She had a number of illnesses over this period and the staff worked tirelessly to help
her through these.
During my mother's last few weeks, mum and I received great care and support from the staff, they kept her comfortable and happy resulting in us still being able to make good memories.
I cannot praise the home and it's staff enough for their care, professionalism and devotion to their work.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.054)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.054) out of 10 for Fairview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.771 for Fairview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.771
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.283 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fairview Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.583
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
