From the day when my friend came to Fairview I know she is safe and I don't need to worry about her. I am happy she is in the place like Fairview. Each member of staff is very nice and approachable. Fairview is a very clean place and I really like the rooms, they are so homely. I am very happy that I can visit my friend with her dog. I am delighted she is in a place like Fairview. I like the entertainment, especially music.

We were concerned initially about our mum going into residential care and so was she. However we were all surprised and delighted to find Fairview is comfortable, secure and very welcoming. Mum has settled in very happily and we have nothing but praise and grateful thanks for the staff who look after her so well. Being able to take some of her personal things was a big help too, her room is now very much like home to mum and we are made to feel very welcome when we visit.

The resident previously lived independently at home, however after being diagnosed with dementia she was unable to live at home. She required 24 hour care and moved to Fairview Care Home where there is a homely environment. She enjoys participating in the variety of social activities on offer as well as domestic tasks including laundry and dishes.

My gran has dementia and on entering the home had care plan in place with likes and dislikes etc to make her daily living easier. We were lead to believe all of which the home could continue we do also understand that she would not get the company as she was at home which is perfectly understandable due to staffing in homes. However a lot of my gran's needs were not met, all of which the social worker put in the assessment and home said all could be met:- bedsides not allowed on bed not to restrain her (as she was not mobile) for safety at night, sitting on chair in morning and wheelchair with cushion we have provided so difference on surface in the afternoon, took upon themselves to stop medication as they felt my gran did not need it and once questioned as we could see gran was in pain when visiting they said they can usually tell if in pain by facial expressions, which is totally diabolical as they don't know my gran as she had not long been in the home plus a lot of agency staff cover shifts and they don't know her. A lot of the staff are very good with my gran.

Reply from HC-One.co.uk, Careline Team at Fairview Care Home

Prior to admission to the care home we carry out a pre-admission assessment, on admission another assessment is carried out and then care needs reviewed and evaluated on a regular basis. When these are reviewed this may mean a change to the nursing care needing to be delivered. We currently have...

One of the main reasons Fairview was selected as the most suitable was as it had a very friendly, homely atmosphere. During the time my mother has resided here, I have always found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. It has been the one thing ALL the family have commented on. My mother at present is extremely ill and I am comfortable that she is well cared for.

My mother has been a resident since September and has struggled with the change. The staff at Fairview Care Home have been patient with her and helped her settle in as much as they can. My mother is now eating better and feeling better thanks to the managers and staff at the home. They have gone out of their way to help her and also make her family welcome including providing a room so we could share Christmas dinner with her and make the transition a little more normal. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to other families.

I am happy here and the food is good I like it. There is always plenty to do but I do not always do things. The whole place is spotlessly clean and tidy and the staff are very cheerie, helpful and friendly.
