My mum was a resident at Fairview for 4 1/2 years, she considered it her home and enjoyed many activities and outings.
Over this period, the home has continuously strived to improve the environment and facilities.
She had a number of illnesses over this period and the staff worked tirelessly to help
her through these.
During my mother's last few weeks, mum and I received great care and support from the staff, they kept her comfortable and happy resulting in us still being able to make good memories.
I cannot praise the home and it's staff enough for their care, professionalism and devotion to their work.

From the initial process of researching the home, to my mother-in-law moving in, the management and care staff have been more than helpful. The room and communal facilities are good and the interest/entertainment etc have been well appreciated by my relative.

My Dad has been in Fairview Care Home for ten weeks and I have nothing but praise for the wonderful staff.
He is treated with dignity, respect and understanding at all times.
I have also been very impressed with the management.
There is certainly an open door policy and the management is very approachable
and reassuring.
My Dad seems to enjoy many of the activities on offer.
Although both he and I would obviously prefer if he was at home, I am very happy that my Dad is being well looked after and his needs attended to.

I find the care home to be very good at looking after my father, also the staff and cleanliness is of a very high standard. The management can be approached at short notice with no problems getting things sorted if need be.

As a purpose built care home, Fairview is structured into small subunits (with around 15 residents) that we think create a more pleasant environment.
Mum quickly struck up a relationship with 2 of the resident and she thinks the staff are wonderful.
Her own room is very well decorated with its own
ensuite and we have been able to add some familiar items from home.
Nursing cover is excellent and very accessible.
There is a good variety of food and this can be adapted (e.g when mum has difficulty with swallowing) a wide range of activities are available.
Overall, we are very happy with the level of care.

We found Fairview to be an ideal home for my aunt. She settled in very well indeed and is happy and content with her care.
The care that she receives is first class.
It can be very difficult and upsetting for relatives to leave a loved one in a home, but as my aunt us very content there, we can leave
her after our visit without feeling any concern.

My Mum had a bad stroke (she is very independent and now in a wheelchair). It took her several months to accept that she had to accept the support of staff to help her. Some days -not through any fault of her own- she was rude and out of control. I kept on apologising to the staff. They are so kind
and helpful and explained to me that this is the stroke, not your Mum. Mum now loves the home they have matched her up with a friend and the staff are all excellent. My Mum is always clean, well fed and very happy and now I can go in every second day as I know she is in very good hands.

1) When visiting my husband at 11 am he was sat in the dining room alone at the table. Neither washed or shaved and wearing his pyjama jacket over his trousers and flicking away at his hard-boiled egg.
2) When collecting him after a fortnightly stay, he was neither washed or shaved and wearing two
pairs of dress trousers - obviously, he was left to his own devices - trying to pack his case.
3) Clothing missing - green shirt and two pairs of pyjama trousers.

Our family have been well supported through Mum's transition into Fairview and have found the staff very helpful, friendly and professional in their duties. Fairview is modern, bright and well maintained and we feel very fortunate that Mum was accepted to live here. There is a lovely atmosphere and
from our limited experience, residents are looked after well. Mum is happy to live here, this is a good facility, the food is good and cups of tea and home bakes available regularly. Excellent overall.

My father has been made to feel very welcome. My father thinks it is really well organised with nourishing meals. The staff are very attentive to my father's aches and pains and welfare needs. In the short time my father has been a resident he has used the services provided including the chiropodist
and the hairdressers. He is really enjoying himself and looks forward to further opportunities to use other services available, for example, the gardens and future outings.

My Gran seems to be settling in well into the care home environment. She enjoys the daily activities that are on offer. I went with her on the barge trip a few weeks ago which was a great day out with other residents and their family members. Also, staff made her feel at ease as sometimes she finds
it hard to relax in new surroundings.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.435)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.435) out of 10 for Fairview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.785 for Fairview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (89 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.785
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.65 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fairview Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.75
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
