The staff are always excellent. Friendly, helpful, caring and efficient. The staff really do make the home welcoming and I am reassured that my relative is being well looked after and is cared for/important to them.

We are happy with the care that is provided. The care home manager and her staff are friendly, helpful, and approachable. Any issues we have are addressed.

There are plenty of activities for those who want to join in. They celebrate all special events such as birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's Day, with decorations, parties etc.

I am very happy with the level of care my mum gets and everything is great. Staff get on well with my mum and let me know when she needs anything. All staff and the manager and deputy manager are fantastic and look after our loved ones really well.

My sister and I are in admiration of the way Kingsmills Care Home has looked after our dear mother. Although our mother has had difficult times in recent months she has, with the brilliant and professional help of the Kingsmills heroes team, been able to get through those difficulties. Staff during this worrying period were in no doubt exceptional during these difficult weeks. Our mother has now improved greatly in the exceptional care she has been given and she looks so very happy, very content, and she has regarded Kingsmills Care Home as her home for quite considerable time now. All of this is due to the manager and Kingsmills heroes for the excellent care they have given to her. My sister and I wish to compliment and congratulate all members of staff in their work. We are also delighted how our mother has been taken out on trips in the minibus and referring to social media pictures she has enjoyed these trips immensely and latterly her unforgettable boat trip onto Loch Ness.

This review was requested a month after my husband moved in.
There have been teething problems of a practical nature, TV aerial found to be damaged, clothing lost (although clearly marked) someone else's clothing found on him, and in drawers (although all clearly labelled with another owner's name and room number).
Initial attempts to help my husband to toilet involved a sling arrangement which was awful. The acquisition of a "Sara Stedy", as used in hospital, would be a good, less degrading, investment! Little wonder he chooses to crawl to the toilet!
Menus I have seen seem varied. Afternoon snack with cake and additional selection of fresh fruit is good, but my husband certainly does not need to be given 4 biscuits mid-morning. If it's there, he will eat it, but not being active means it is not a good thing long term.

These are only preliminary thoughts. The staff are great and have a lovely way with coping with my husband. All my concerns have been listened to and acted upon.

The staff at Kingsmills are caring and supportive of our family members. They worked incredibly hard during Covid to keep our relatives safe. The atmosphere at Kingsmills is warm and welcoming and a lot of thought goes into activities to engage with residents and give them some fun and laughter.

November 2021 has been a challenging month for my mother as the staff, myself and my brother have tried very hard to address the loss in weight that she experienced in the previous two months in line with a decline in her illness. I have just been informed by her nurse that my mother’s weight is on the up again and this is entirely due to the patience and care of the staff and the enticing food choices from the kitchen. I feared this would not have been possible as a referral to an NHS dietician seems merely a pipe dream currently. We achieved this through coaxing and kindness. We are so grateful, once again, to all of the dedicated team at Kingsmills Care Home.

My father recently celebrated his birthday in the care home. The manager and her staff decorated a room with banners and supplied afternoon tea so that I, along with my children and grandchildren could spend this special time with my father. It was a lovely surprise for him and a chance for him to meet his great-grandchild for the first time. I can’t praise the home highly enough for all the care and attention they give my father.

I know my husband is being well cared for, far better than I could manage. I have confidence in the capabilities of the staff whom I feel are very kind and friendly as well as professional, which in turn helps me not to worry too much especially at a time we cannot visit. Keep up the good work. With regard to my rating for food, to be fair I can't really give an honest review as I've not been in a position to monitor the food during the past year and since new ownership.

It is difficult to give a full review of my experience as the past year has not been like any other year. I felt the home did their best in difficult circumstances, outside visits and visits with masks etc are very difficult for my friend as he no longer knows me or has seen my face for a year.

My mother has been a resident at Kingsmills for some years now. She is very well cared for there. Most importantly she is treated with kindness and respect. The staff there are the strength of the place and work as a team to ensure that residents are well cared for.

My mother-in-law appears content and happy in Kingsmills Care Home. She has lived for many years. Staff are excellent and will go that extra mile to ensure the clients are being looked after. The home has done an excellent job of keeping clients and staff safe during this pandemic and, although it is difficult that we cannot visit, I know she is well looked after.

Staff are very friendly and there’s always someone about to speak about my aunt. Even before the virus, she would not let me stay for more than a few minutes and always tell me to go! She seems very content in herself and if there were any concern I would receive a phone call.

My mother received Palliative Care at Kingsmills from July 2019 until December 2019. The end of life care that she received was excellent. She was treated with dignity and kindness which was a great comfort to her family. They kept us informed of her condition and treatment at all times. The staff at all levels from management to domestic showed compassion at all times.

My mother has been a resident since April 2014 and receives an excellent level of care from the staff. We always know she is well looked after and have no concerns about her wellbeing. She has had a few health issues recently, and everybody has been so caring towards us her family and to my mother.

I have always found Kingsmills care home a welcoming and friendly place to come to and it is always clean and tidy. Staff go out of their way to help all the residents and their visitors. My friend is unable to do anything for themself and relies greatly on the nurses and carers for all their daily needs.

I have always felt comfortable and made to feel welcome on entering the home. Afternoon tea with home baking and fruit is a nice touch and the residents enjoy it.

The activities organised for the residents are popular. My husband participates very well. It's good to see the activities and outings are varied. The carers work well under difficult circumstances.

Each time I visit my friend I find her happy and cheerful. The staff are always welcoming and helpful and there is a very pleasant atmosphere in the home. Have just attended my friends 104th birthday party. The home provided an excellent meal for eight in a very pleasant room which was decorated with bunting and birthday wishes. Also a beautiful cake.

I am so pleased that my dog is welcome as my friend loves animals.
