The Review Score of 9.7 (maximum of 10) for Moss Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 21 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Moss Park Care Home in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 4.669 for Moss Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (178 Excellents x 5) + (64 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 251 Ratings = 4.669
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Moss Park Care Home is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:
3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4
Target of 8 positive Reviews (40 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 10 Reviews ÷ 8 Target Reached = 1
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

Dad has been well looked after and included in a range of activities which stimulate him mentally. His life interests are recognised and frequently referred to which reinforces his sense of identity. The family appreciate the caring environment in Moss Park Care Home and the eases of access to communications. We are kept well-informed on any issues relating to our dad.

My wife was admitted as a resident in August 2017 and seems to have settled quite well. I visit three days a week (100-mile round trip) and always receive a warm welcome from staff to management and encouraged to discuss any problems I may have with sympathy and understanding. After nearly 60 years together, it is nice to know she is in safe and kindly hands and will be looked after. We are both 83 years old and "kindness means so much in old age".

My mother spent a year in Moss Park and their care and commitment to her were quite exceptional. Her many health issues were dealt with extremely well and she was looked after with the greatest of care and consideration. The staff went well out of their way to provide her favourite foods and treats and to help her with getting some new clothes and in fact, anything that she requested was fulfilled on with love and kindness. Remarkable and wonderful staff.

I have previously had a bad experience of and with a nursing home and I am exceptionally pleased and delighted to say that Moss Park is the complete opposite. I am always notified if there is a problem or my dad takes unwell and kept up to date of proceedings. Management is knowledgeable and efficient. Care staff are friendly, polite and considerate to all my dad's needs physically and emotionally.
The residents are stimulated through numerous activities. Families too are supported when things can get emotionally difficult. A caring care home.

Mum only got to stay in Moss Park for a few weeks, but in those weeks she was happier and comfier that we had ever seen her.
The care was second to none, the staff were exceptionally kind and professional.
We would not hesitate in using again.

My partner has MS. She is in bed all the time and is totally reliant on staff to do everything for her. The staff when working with her talk to her all the time and have a routine in place to help stimulate her. The staff always keep me up to date with her care and call me if there are any changes in her condition. Both myself and our son are very pleased with the care and help she gets at the home.

Moss Park is an excellent caring environment and I cannot praise the staff highly enough. The do an absolutely brilliant job looking after my mother. She is happy, always smart in appearance and is forever getting taken out and about. Her quality of life has improved considerably since she entered Moss Park and when I come to visit they do an excellent job in looking after me too.
All in all, I cannot praise Moss Park enough.

I have called at Moss Park once a month for a number of years now. I have a talk with some of the residents and this is a regular thing. During that time a relation of mine spent the last few months of her life there. I have never been anything but impressed with the care given.

My mother was a resident in Moss Park for two years until she passed away in October 2012. I have to say the care and attention she received from all staff was amazing. Nothing was too much bother and she was treated like one of their own family. From the Manager to the domestics, all were exceptional.

Caring staff, great loving manager, cosy, lovely garden, good nursing home. Understanding with relatives, calmly dealing with any situation, great chef. Relaxed atmosphere. A sense of humour.
Care staff are on quite a low pay for such a hard job and the skills they need to carry it out! More pay would keep their staff instead of having to train new staff when they move jobs for higher wages available in the care sector.

My father stayed at 'Moss Park Care Home' for the last 10 months of his life with dementia. He was from Yorkshire. I was always greeted with friendly, professional kindness by all members of staff. I cannot recommend highly enough the leadership from the management and nursing team. My father was cared for as an individual with respect and dignity during his stay until his death at 'Moss Park Care Home'.

My mother stayed here for 2 weeks respite in July. We were greeted at the entrance by a friendly smiling member of staff and shown to Mum's room. There we were served a pot of tea while we did the admin (very thorough questions, all of her needs/likes/dislikes). It was a ground floor room with a nice view and en suite. Very near to where the communal areas were. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and pictures etc very decorative. I noticed the staff photos with names too.
We were shown round, my mum was interested to see the dining room (all set for dinner) and the menus on the tables. She has dementia so not able to do a review or form an opinion but I myself was very impressed. All the staff I saw were cheerful and busy and clean! My mum came back with a nice haircut, fingernails well trimmed and clothes all fresh and clean. I was also happy to see they have a minibus here and have outings.
