We as a family have found Drummohr to be a very good nursing home. This was our third placement for our mum and by far she is the happiest she has been. She is settled and the staff are so kind and caring to her. Mum has dementia and as a family who don't live nearby, we feel happy with Mum's care and know she is content and well looked after.

Mum seems to enjoy her time here. She says everyone is very nice. I find the staff very nice also. I do have an issue with Mum's washing. There is a notice on her toilet door saying that her washing must go home, but often I go and there is no washing there. Then I have to go looking for her clothes as they seem to go missing.

Unfortunately this care home experienced a pretty severe drop in standards in 2017, however all agencies have been involved in trying to 'right the ship'. Many improvements have been made and it is to be hoped that progress will continue. Any problems, when drawn to the attention of staff and the temporary manager, seem to be resolved. 3 years ago the home seemed to be excellent. Hopefully the same high standards can be achieved again.

Staff very welcoming and always with a smile.
Drummohr feels like "a happy home". Dad's weight was very low when we arrived. With the help of masses of good wholesome food and snacks, we see a difference in him. Dad is offered to take part in lots of activities and encouraged with other stuff.

After years of caring for dad and the challenges that were brought with them, we are now able to just enjoy dad knowing he is in good hands.

My friend was in the above care home just over 15 months and I found she was well cared for. She also enjoyed the food. The entertainment and activities were excellent which all helped her to adjust and enjoy her time there. She as well as her room was kept as clean and tidy as possible. The staff were all friendly and caring even at difficult times. I think the staff do a marvellous job.

Drummohr Care Home staff are genuinely friendly, caring and endlessly patient. I couldn't wish for a better place for my father, who is not an easy character to deal with. Medical attention is prompt and of a high standard. All my father's wishes and requirements are dealt with promptly and with a total acceptance of his own peculiar foibles. Standards of cleanliness are also consistently high. I would unhesitatingly recommend Drummohr to anyone who is looking for a care home for a family member.

I am delighted with the care my mum is receiving at Drummhor. The home has a lovely relaxed ambience, a very homely feel. The residents spend time in the lounge where activities take place or some like to sit in the foyer to welcome visitors. The staff are all wonderful and treat all residents with respect, in fact, they are so very caring. The food is all cooked freshly on the premises great variety, something for everyone and plenty of it. Very clean and no smell.

My mum (age 89) has been a resident in Drummohr for nearly 2 years. I had a great deal of fear and trepidation when I first arranged for her care in the home. Mum has Alzheimer's is doubly incontinent and has severe impairment of intelligence. However she has not deteriorated that much in the 2 years thanks to the care she receives from the home. I visit her every week for 2 hours and see first hand the hard work/care that goes on which I will describe:
"Happy atmosphere", "Plenty of activities", "Clean facilities-bathes/showers/wet rooms".
"Pleasant staff", "Lovely one to ones with staff and mum".

"Treat mum with dignity when attending to her incontinence need", "Lovely meals- staff encourage/help mum to eat", "Mum has good mobility so is able to go to tea dances, shopping trips with staff in the homes mini bus".

My gran entered in to Drummohr on 23/12/15 with history of low quality care and a very anxious family. My gran is diagnosed with dementia. I myself work in care and have experienced this industry in various locations and numerous roles and I am in awe at the way the manager runs the care home- creating a loving and welcoming environment at all times. The manager is so hands on making sure she is familiar with every guest and their families between her and the senior carer my gran has come on extraordinarily, they have literally given her her life back. They do not label my gran as another lady with dementia, they see the person that she was and is. I am so grateful to the staff at Drummohr especially the manager and other staff who deal with her on a regular basis, keeping her safe and happy, all that we want and more.

For my aunts birthday, the family had planned to take her out for a meal, but unfortunately she wasn't fit enough. Instead the staff arranged for us to use the private room and they supplied all the food including her cake. Thank you Drummohr Care Home.

Mum has moved into Drummohr Care Home in December 2015 when it became apparent that the residential care home where she stayed could no longer give her the care she needed. She was diagnosed with alzheimers in 2008 and her behaviour was becoming very challenging. I have found the staff very good and very professional when working with mum. The staff are very helpful and willing to listen to any concerns I have, either about mum or myself. I am very happy with the care mum receives.
