Overall Experience
My mother has been in the Maryhill Suite for two years and five months has settled in very well, due in no small part, to the care and professionalism of the staff.
Cannot praise them highly enough, from the reception staff through to the medical staff and the carers, particular thanks must go to the charge nurse and the two members of the team who dealt with the Zoom calls throughout lockdown, an absolute lifeline. Unfortunate we cannot name them, we will always be grateful for their efforts, and their positivity in trying times.

As a family, we will be forever grateful.

During the first 6/7 week initial assessment period, we found our aunt has been treated with great care and courtesy. Her bedridden situation has been understood by all nursing and care staff. On a personal level when visiting both my wife and I are welcomed, covid tested and made to feel comfortable by all the staff.

Eighteen months ago my husband who has vascular dementia, vascular Paekinson's and "brittle" Type 1 diabetes went from many weeks in hospital to stay at Four Hills. Sadness and guilt at leaving him there were soon replaced by complete confidence in every member of staff who have given him the best of nursing and personal care. His complex health problems have challenged even hospital consultants but the whole team at Four HIlls have proved themselves more than capable in dealing with those needs and also with everything that Covid-19 has thrown at them. He is very content, loves his room, loves the food which is all to reassuring for me and the family. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who have been wonderful to us all.

My brother went into Barchester Four Hills last July, he settled down very well. The staff are excellent and very caring, they phone and tell you if anything is wrong, you can ask questions and they will answer you. The reception staff are so welcome when you come in for your visit and very friendly.

My mum went into care to Barchester Four Hills Care home on April 1st 2021, obviously there are still a lot of Covid-19 restrictions in place, so my review takes into account the limited experience we have had so far. The public areas and my mum's room always seem to be clean and well kept. We brought up personal effects to make her feel at home and everything is cleaned and disinfected before going into her room. The staff have been very good and have been proactive in keeping me updated with things happening with my mum, even so much as calling to tell me she's been outside or that she's been talking with other residents. We quickly established a good rapport with the staff and the unit manager, particularly from the Lambhill unit. The manager has been fantastic, both at caring for my mum and also helping me become more comfortable accepting my mum's new normal. I expect my scores to be higher as restrictions relax and I can observe my mum getting more use of the facilities and we can visit more regularly.

My uncle is receiving Palliative care. He says he feels well looked after and that all the staff are very good. He enjoys the food and feels that he is getting all the care he needs. I feel the precautions taken to allow to visit are warranted and carried out with respect. The staff are all friendly, and I feel satisfied with the care package.

I cannot praise the staff at Fourhills enough. The care and attention that they provided my mum allowed her to live comfortably in her own space until she passed rather than constant hospital visits (which was a fortnightly occurrence for the 2-years before she moved into the home). Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we were unable to spend as much time with our Mum as we would have liked - it was a terrible time for us as a family, however, the care my mum received, and also the communication that the staff had with us, did help to ease our worry. The staff at this time not only cared for my mum but took the place of her family, and we will be forever grateful for that.

My dad has been in Four Hills nursing home for some time now, and the care he receives is excellent. All the staff in the Ruchill unit have looked after him very well. Supporting his every need and they know him so well; he has a wicked sense of humour, and they picked up on that right away. He enjoys being there. From the minute you arrive, to the end of your visit there, you are welcomed and the staff are so nice.

My mother has been in the care home for some time now, and while I was apprehensive at first as to how she would settle, I am very happy with how she has been looked after. She has had lots of attention, and when she was able, she always told me how great the food was. As her dementia has worsened, the level of care has increased, and although I haven't been able to see her for a while, I am more than happy and relaxed that she is in good hands.

Our mother was only in Four Hills for a few days, following her discharge from hospital. She was very frail, following many years of Alzheimer's and more recently a stroke and sadly passed away shortly after her arrival. However, we were very happy with the quality of the care she received and could see that she was much happier, more relaxed and much more responsive while she was there. She was made very welcome and the staff put a lot of effort into getting to know her and making her feel at home. They cared for her lovingly, and could not have been kinder. We were very grateful for this, especially in her final hours and also for the support provided to ourselves at this time.

Four Hills Care Home was exactly the care my aunt needed in her final days. The staff did everything (and more) to treat, support and comfort her. After she passed, the staff made sure, I and my family were informed immediately, took care of every detail and continued to help with advice and arrangements.

My aunt was initially admitted in August 2018 to the Firhill unit. She received excellent care from the team leader and his team, we also felt cared for and supported. The thought of a loved one moving into a residential care setting is daunting but in our case, with the help of the staff at Four Hills, the reality was so much better than we ever imagined. My aunt was so settled and content that we sought to make her temporary placement a permanent one. She was transferred to the Lambhill unit in October 2018. The team leader of this unit and her excellent team welcomed her warmly. Her room was lovely, warm and inviting and we enjoyed spending time with her there. The day rooms were a wee bit less fresh, although that didn't seem to bother my aunt. She thoroughly enjoyed the freshly prepared meals and weekly trips to the onsite hairdresser. Sadly, my aunt passed away in hospital in May 2019 after a short illness. We are so very thankful to the team leader and the Lambhill team and will never forget their care and commitment.
