Castle View Care Home

As my sister had turned 65 she had to move from the YPD unit where she had been since moving to Castle View in 2022. We were concerned about how she would react to being moved from a familiar room to a new space. However the staff were amazing. Knowing my sister as they do they worked out a plan, took my input into account and put my sister first, ahead of any inconvenience to themselves. The move went better then I could ever have hoped and my sister continues to be very happy at Castle View.

As the person am writing about is in a good place, well looked after and safe , the only downfall I have is the rooms could be doing with a makeover , ie could have there own shower , to make this easier for family to attend to there relatives.

I have been coming to Castle View for just under 3 years and I am happy to say the management and staff have been very good in the support and care of my mother. I feel confident that she is treated with respect and I am kept informed of any issues and that my opinions are listened to and that I can express any concerns without worrying that I am interfering.

She moved in 7 months ago and all our family thinks it's been a great move. She can now go outside easily in the good weather. As a family member I always feel welcome and I can relax knowing my mum is getting care of a very high standard.

My husband has been in Castle View for almost 6 months in that time my sons and myself are very happy with the care he is getting. He's clean, dry, well fed and cared for by the staff. If we have any problems or concerns we feel we can approach staff and its not a bother to them and the issue is dealt with. Because of this my sons & myself can relax and not worry about him.

I did not like the idea of my mum going into a care home. Mum worked in one and always asked me to promise I would not put her in one. I am very happy the way everybody has welcomed not only my mum but all of our family. Mum is thriving and now putting on some weight. All of the staff are very nice. Castle View is a really lovely & warm care home.

I am delighted the way my wife is treated and am not find any point of the care home that I can complain about.

Activities are well suited to the residents and I cannot praise the staff highly enough.

The management are always pleased to see you and make sure you are up to date with whatever is going on in the home.

My mum has not long in Castle View long, since Jan. I cannot praise staff enough for her care, also the cleanliness of the nursing home, always clean and tidy.

Castle View is a warm and friendly place.

I have had a very good experience from Castle View Care Home. Mum is very happy and nothing is a problem for the staff, only problem is two pairs of slippers have gone missing these items have been labeled I inderstand this is a big task. The laundry with all the residents and a small problem for us as long as Mum is happy. Castle View Care Home is fab.

My brother has been a resident in Castle View since 2020. He has received wonderful care and support throughout. the staff have gone out of their way to get to know him and his likes/dislikes. Contact with family to report any concerns they may have about his health is always prompt and detailed. He has established great relationships with all the carers that have contact with him. Other staff i.e. admin, housekeeping and maintenance, are also attentive and caring.

Very pleased with all the care my wife is receiving and all the information the staff has given me.

Walking into the home on my regular visits to my father I was welcomed warmly and there was always a member of staff available if needed - the home presents a bright, busy happy environment, organized and centred around making each resident feel comfortable and at “home”. The staff is what makes this home, they are a great team.

The care, understanding, and compassion shown by the wonderful staff at Castle View to my Father (resident) and us, his family, was life-affirming. It gave us strength, confidence, and peace of mind to face a difficult time. Professional care attention to detail and individual residents’ needs are all delivered with love and kindness. A truly caring home - thank you.

I have written this, having taken the views of family members who visited my brother regularly in the care home.

My dad has been a resident for almost a year now and it’s been a good place for him. The staff have been lovely and welcoming, as well as really helpful. The standard of care has been really good. Over the past year we have seen improvements in the home, which is great! The staff are happy to talk with family and ensure that any issues are quickly dealt with. Both my dad and the family feel heard and supported.

My view of my brother's time at this home has been very positive. The staff are very helpful in every way and any thing that I have asked for has always been provided.

I have Power of Attorney for my Mum. I had looked after Mum for five years prior to her coming to Castle View. I am very protective of Mum and surrendering her into care was very difficult for me. Fortunately, I have been very pleased with all the staff who look after Mum. They are friendly, professional and caring. They keep me updated and also are very friendly to me as I am in most days. Honestly, they are a great team at Castle View.
