My mum has been staying at the Claremont since May. During this time I have had nothing but excellent service. Nothing is too much bother and everyone seems happy to help.

The staff have been excellent and I would highly recommend.

The care my dad receives is excellent. He has put on weight and is content and happy he has company and supervision 24 hours a day, which allows us to get to our work and have a normal life.

It also gives my dad a far better quality of life than he would have at home.

I'd like to see more helpful activities being practised, that I feel could benefit my mum. Thanks,

Paperwork for staff appears to be excessive. There is sometimes a delay in gaining entry at night. Staff are patient and attentive with residents.

Reply from Claire Hurworth, Care Line Manager at Claremont Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to provide such positive feedback about Claremont. Staff are required to keep accurate, up to date and timely records about residents but we do try to keep this minimal. To keep our residents safe we have a secure entrance at the front of the building. During busy periods it may take longer for staff to answer. We do appreciate this is not ideal.

Mum deteriorated rapidly and entered Claremont at short notice.
It has been a great comfort to the family that mum is cared for by such wonderful staff. Her care needs are fully met and she is treated very much as an individual.

It's great to see her stable and she now laughs again.

I have found nearly all of the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Nurses in charge are always very reliable. I have always been kept up to date with any issues regarding my mum. Laundry system is not the best as stuff is continually getting mixed up.
Nearly always staff available if required unless they are busy which is understandable.

My mum is settled and content and that's all that matters.

Staff are dedicated to helping the residents feel at ease and happy in their environment. It is always a pleasure to go in to visit Mum and know she is happy.

Mum enjoys the singalongs and the small dances. The staff join in with the residents. It is always nice to see so many smiling faces.

Mum has only been a resident for 3 weeks.

It was obviously an extremely anxious time for her and all the family but all made so much easier by the care and attention from all the staff at Claremont. She is settling in very well and we are all extremely happy with the excellent care provided.

I found Claremont Care Home ideal for my dad after looking at various homes. The staff are excellent and always have time for you. They keep you up to date with all treatments, falls etc of my dad. The only downside I would say is that staff keep changing in the unit - they move to other units. I personally think that residents get used to staff, then they move.

Overall totally happy with staff and home.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Claremont Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to provide such positive feedback about Claremont. We do try to maintain staff continuity in each unit but at times we do need to make some changes to ensure each unit is safely staffed, but we do appreciate that this is not ideal.

All staff do an excellent job and are on call constantly and also call twice to each room during the night. This being said, as my husband states, calls are made sometimes between 2 am and 6 am.

The care my mother received was excellent. The staff were always on hand to help. The general ambience in Claremont was one that gave me peace of mind that Mum was in good hands, in a happy house.

Please convey my sincere thanks to the unit managers and all their staff. It was a privilege to have come into contact with them.

My mother was a resident until she passed away recently. I want to provide a review of Claremont, Ayr, as the care they gave my mother was exceptional.
My mother was happy and contented and really well looked after by the staff. She was normally smiling when we visited. We also witnessed ‘genuine’ care and chit-chat between the staff and my mother - by genuine I mean it was natural and not put on for our benefit.
She was always clean, tidy and regularly changed.

The staff have a very difficult and busy job, but they always made time for my mum or myself if I had any questions.
