I find the carers and management very approachable and friendly, they keep me informed at all times. The food is excellent and the residents are well fed. The rooms, lounges and corridors are kept clean and smell free. The gardens are a treat for the residents and visitors, they are well used in the
good weather.

On my second visit, when I was unfamiliar with the layout of the home, my aunt desperately needed the toilet. There were no staff around and I struggled to find the toilet for her.
She could not remember where the toilet was (she has dementia) and it would have been very helpful to have signs on the
walls indicating the way to the toilet.

It broke my heart to have to put my mum into a care home.
So glad I chose Claremont Care Home as all staff are excellent with my mum.
She is looked after very well.
If I have any issues I take them to the unit manager and they are always addressed.
I know my mum is safe and taken care of 24 hours
a day.
Staff appear to be well trained for my mum's condition (dementia).
My mum has a problem with eating but the staff are willing to try anything to get mum to eat.
All staff deserve praise, from kitchen staff to maintenance, they are all fabulous.

My mum has been in the care of the staff at Claremont for a year now and she has settled in very well. The staff have all been very good with mum, myself and my brothers. We are welcome anytime. Activities are difficult for mum as her mobility is bad, but she does enjoy a singalong.

The experience so far has been satisfactory and my mum has settled in quite well. However, a wider choice of food would be appreciated.
My mum really enjoys all forms of activities and it would be really helpful if this could be more prevalent and suited to purpose.

Staff listen to residents and their family and work hard to provide the care needed.
There are lots of activities for residents to take part in, staff always take the time to answer questions and keep relatives informed.

Staff appear open and mum seems happy with service.
Provide more details of what mum has done or been offered on a day to day basis- a log book at the door to her room might be an idea. This could record staff involvement, any activities undertaken or offered, meal time, food taken.

My relative has been there for a few weeks which I have visited on several occasions. Myself, partner and a close friend chose this care home and have not been disappointed. The staff, overall facilities are excellent. I actually live in Essex but am in Ayr on regular visits. In between, the lady in
charge phones me regularly to inform me of his well being which I very much appreciate.

Job Title: Home Manager

“For me, kind care is always being respectful and ensuring that Residents maintain their dignity throughout their care journey.”


As a Registered Nurse, Catherine has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Catherine closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Claremont.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Catherine remarked:


“There’s nothing more rewarding than making a difference to the lives of Residents and their loved ones.”


Outside of work, Catherine likes to wind down with a good book, she also enjoys cycling and spending with her three beautiful grandchildren.
