It was a difficult time for our family when we were looking for a nursing home for my Mum-in-law who was suffering from Alzheimer's. Four and a half years later, we are absolutely in no doubt that she is experiencing the best quality of life possible and we feel blessed to have found Orchar. We were struck by the comfortable, homely atmosphere, the cheery, positive energy of the staff, and the hub of activity among residents engaged in a variety of activities. Friends and family are welcome and are invited to join in delicious meals and a range of social events. Also, there is a very strong link between Orchar and the local community and it is common to see all ages present on the premises. What really sets Orchar apart, however, is the fantastic level of care and commitment of the management and staff who go above and beyond expectations to meet Mum's changing needs. We continue to be very grateful for the professional, friendly and personal support given to Mum and to us as a family.
Orchar provided the best possible care for my dad in his 5-6 months there. From the first day to his last he was provided with superb personal care and the staff dealt with his complex needs in the most caring and professional manner. The care and compassion from the staff was amazing and they did their very best to let my dad maintain his dignity there. I cannot speak more highly about our families experience at Orchar. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for an alternative for an elderly family member looking for additional support beyond their own home.
Absolutely delighted with the care and attention my 96 yr old uncle has received since entering Orchar Home in June 2019. He is encouraged to participate in all activities and it is to the home's credit he does so with enthusiasm. Just being in Orchar has given him a new lease of life. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and we are kept up to date with how he is getting on.
After my mother (94) broke her hip (and then her dementia was advanced after the flu), we were very pleased with the care she received when admitted to The Orchar. We couldn't have managed any longer at home. At The Orchar my mother has put weight back on and is well cared for. She enjoys the food, the social atmosphere and the activities. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating when we visit (at any time). There is a beautiful view, which we often enjoy with my mother.
My husband has been a resident in Orchar Nursing Home since March this year. He was really ill when he arrived but due to the care he has received he is informed daily and takes part in the social life of the home. I have a great admiration for the care my husband is receiving and the support I receive.
Both my Mum and Dad are at Orchar Nursing Home. Delighted with the care and support from staff. Excellent activities and pleasure to see them so well looked after.
He was cared for in the most professional way by all staff - managers, nurses, care assistants, catering staff, cleaning staff.
The level of attention he was given was exemplary.
Our family were also treated exceptionally well particularly in the period leading up to his passing away.
I have nothing but praise for the staff at Orchar.
The level of care and professional approach given to both my parents is outstanding.
There is a genuine caring team from management to nursing and care in place.
The minute you step through the door a warm friendly atmosphere greets you.
Communications and information. I think this is a very important part of Orchar Care Ltd's responsibility to the residents and family. The management team arrange meetings to let us know what projects are in place and give us the opportunity to ask questions.
A very professional care home.
My wife and I came into this home in July 2017, she has Alzheimer's and I had a heart attack. We are happy here, food is very good, staff are very caring and very helpful. The activities are very interesting.
Building excellent.
Décor excellent.
Cleanliness excellent.
Food excellent.
Staff excellent - I love them all.
Management excellent.
She loves all the staff and enjoys all the entertainment which is provided - obviously a lot of thought goes into this too.
My grandma seems very settled at Orchar Nursing Home and has a good relationship with the staff. Since moving to Orchar Nursing Home it has been a lot easier to get my gran out as she was stuck in her house at home. She gets great enjoyment from being able to get out.
Mum has now been at Orchar for over 6 months and has enjoyed her first Christmas there. On Christmas Day she was unable to leave her room for Christmas lunch with the residents in the dining room so the staff set two places at the table in her room with crackers etc for us both. The meal was excellent, some staff popped in/out when they could. The residents are bought gifts and as she is a keen reader, were thoughtful enough to buy a selection of books. What could have been a difficult day turn into a very good experience.
My friend is always very clean and well looked after. She always seems happy and content.
The manager and staff are always on hand to welcome and discuss anything at any time. I particularly like the homely feel and decor.
I would highly recommend Orchar to anyone looking for care.
I visit aunty every week since she moved in 7 years ago and I find the home so homely and comfortable for my aunt.
My great aunt has had excellent care from the moment she walked through the door. Couldn't ask for any nicer, friendlier or more patient staff to care for her. She is in the best hands.
Every time I visit the staff are lovely.
I have visited my friend for three years and I found the staff very friendly also very good with the residents. The residents are well looked after and enjoy the entertainment, also they love getting out to church choirs etc.
Whilst visiting Orchar Nursing Home, I have found the staff management and overall appearance of the care home to be of an exceptional standard. There is a happy caring atmosphere that radiates through to the residents in their care of Orchar Nursing Home. I would recommend to anyone seeking a place of high standards and care for their relatives or friends.
Nice, friendly staff.
I would highly recommend Orchar Nursing Home to any elderly person.
