My brother's been here for a few years, and any concerns I have raised have been dealt with professionally. I have to call out to the Manager in particular, her ownership and caring persona are commendable. All staff interact with my brother and seem to take an interest. I would recommend Maple Leaf.

Maple Leaf is absolutely amazing. The care the staff give is first class. I feel like part of a family at Maple Leaf. I know my mum is receiving the best care. The home is always clean and always smells fresh and clean. Absolutely every member of staff makes you feel welcome. The food is lovely too
so much effort is put into everything this home does. They celebrate every occasion and involve the residents as much as they can. I can't say a bad word about Maple Leaf. My mum has been in this home now for 5 years.
Reply from Jane Flanagan, Bed Manager at Maple Leaf House

Thank you so much for your kind and touching words. It's a true honour to care for your Mother and all the wonderful residents who make Maple Leaf so special. We're proud to be considered part of your extended family, and knowing you feel welcomed and confident in the care your mum receives means the world to us. Every member of our team works hard to create a warm, clean, and engaging environment, hearing that it shines through makes all the effort worthwhile. We'll be sure to share your lovely feedback with the whole team-it will certainly brighten their day!

This home has given our father so, so much care. He was placed here as part of an NHS 6 week assessment. We are only 4 weeks in, but the care has been truly exemplary. Whilst our father will never be 'cured' of his dementia, we have seen such an improvement in his overall state. He is so much more settled.
As a family, we had already chosen a care home we had hoped he could live at post assessment, but such is the care he receives from absolutely every member of staff at Maple Leaf House, that we hope to secure a permanent placement once the assessment is over.

This home is completely amazing. I cannot do it justice in words for the care and support they have for my relative and his wife of 73 years, a regular visitor. The care and support was unique, personal, dignified, kind and respectful. From housekeeper cleaner, chef, carer, nurse and manager everyone
plays a part in making care completely special. Life is unique and precious and this home attempts to respect and reflect that in its care.

My father has received excellent care since the day he arrived in February 2019.
The staff are exceptionally caring and attention to all patients. The food is varied, nutritious and residents are given choices. The environment is friendly and clean at all times. It's nice to see a care home look more
like a home than an old people's place.
I would not hesitate in recommending Maple Leaf to anyone.
The management and staff are first class.

Mother was a resident for the last 9 months of her long life. Though she was suffering from advanced Alzheimer's the staff always treated her with care and kindness. I was a regular visitor and always found the staff friendly and courteous, almost like friends. Thanks again.

While my father was at the home I found all the staff to be professional in the care they gave to my father. I was always greeted with a smile and would you like "a cup of tea". My mother was always made welcome when visiting her husband. The sensory room was great to sit with my dad. I would not hesitate
in recommending the home. I sincerely thank all the staff for the care my father received.

I have been happy with the care my husband has. He is rather difficult and has been handled well. Staff are always very pleasant with me. I cannot comment on the activities as my Husband doesn't seem to want to be involved but I hope he will. He has always been good at art.

Staff seem friendly and competent and were helpful in answering queries. A more personal approach to the individual would be nice. I have never seen Grandma in red nail varnish! Helping by putting up photo's would also be appreciated. Also, could a haircut be arranged? Many thanks.

I find everything at Maple Leafe first class. The rooms are clean and roomy, the staff are the most caring and helpful people I know. The food is great, I visit daily and the menu is varied and appetising - first rate in my opinion. My partner is always clean and smart. All in all, it's a very good
home from home, cosy and homely.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.367)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.367) out of 10 for Maple Leaf House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.909 for Maple Leaf House is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 4.909
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.458 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Maple Leaf House is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.333
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
