Rose unit needs a refurb, everything is looking tired, outside is a mess, full of weeds, long grass, dead plants, needs an overhall and deffo a hosepipe. Garden furniture needs replacing.
The mattress in Dads room is cheap and uncomfortable and for fees of almost £6000 pm I expect better.
Since the activities co-ordinator left there is nothing happening to keep minds active/entertained. The whole place needs air con
Its going downhill. The powers that be need to spend some funds
Staff always pleasent and happy to help, clean and friendly place and all round great Place to be/visit
Thank you for your kind review, this will be shared with the team.
Both are proffesianal and caring. Alway have a smile on the faces, very approachable.
Thank you for your kind review. This will be shared with the team.
My wife and I visited a couple of married friends both in residential care at Newfield Lodge. Having worked for the Council Social Services as a visiting officer prior to retirement I visited numerous care homes in the Wakefield district and can say without a shadow of doubt this is one of the nicest homes and possibly the best I've had the pleasure to visit. All the staff we encountered were professional and very friendly. As we were leaving we spoke to who appeared to be the manager and complimented her on the staff and quality of the home. She took time out to show us another area of the home which has recently been refurbished.
Thank you for your kind review. This will be shared with all the team.
I would just like to thank the staff and manager at newfield lodge, they all go above and beyond to make my sisters care perfect for her. The home is ran perfectly and the staff make it a special place.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of our home. Your kind words mean a great deal to our team of dedicated colleagues, who continuously strive to provide the highest quality care for our residents
My dad has been a resident for nearly two years now and his overall care has been good. The entertainment is good, the food is good and the atmosphere is nice. Most staff are lovely, but there are a few I question have the right training and understanding of dementia. We have had a few meeting due to my dad's care needs not been met but these have always been resolved. My concern atm the lack of staff which is making the units un safe and wearing the staff down. This isn't helped by them having no manager for a month and one not starting for another month. I feel if they up staffing levels and get some management guidance, this home could be one of the best.
Thank you for your concerns raised in the care home review. I am pleased to announce the new Manager starts this month and during the interim we have had Management support 5 days per week to ensure the care staff team are supported in their roles. We do monitor staffing daily and...
Dad is now 94 and I can rest assured that he is being taken care of to the highest possible standard.
Thank you to everyone at Newfield Lodge.
Christine

Positive reviews like this provide a real boost to our colleagues who work tirelessly to deliver the kindest possible care to residents. We appreciate your support and will strive to continue to uphold the highest standards for residents, visitors, and colleagues.
Christine,
Generally Newfield Lodge is fine, however our friend doesn't always get mid morning and evening drinks. These are vital for elderly (he is 95 years) people as urinary infections can develop if not enough fluid is taken. Someone should be at the reception desk on a weekend as sometimes it can take up to 10 mins to be admitted. What if it was an emergency.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are sorry to hear your friend has not always received their mid-morning and evening drinks. We are reviewing our hydration checks to ensure this does not happen again; maintaining hydration...
All to an extent is very satisfactory.
We would like to express our gratitude for your positive review. Your positive review means a lot to our team of dedicated colleagues, who continuously strive to provide high quality care for our residents. Thank you again

Again, thank you for your positive comments.
My mum was recently admitted to NL in January following a protracted hip operation. Althought only been a resident for a short while, all the staff have been very helpful and caring. There have been a few issues due to mum's dementia, and is an evolving situation regarding her care and developing a relationship with staff and my mum. Her needs are changing, but I am confident so far that best outcomes will happen. All staff are readily available to speak with.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a positive review of our home. We are pleased to hear you are pleased with the quality of care your Mum receives at Newfield Lodge care home and we will ensure your kind words are shared with the team. Again, thank you for your positive comments.
A beautiful care home with excellent food, and activities, a real luxury home, beautiful rooms with a homely feel. Nothing is too much trouble for the excellent staff and they are the most friendly passionate and helpful not just with the residents but with family members too. My Mum is happy, comfortable and safe here. A huge credit to all at Newfield. Thank you.
My Mother has been in the dementia section of Newfield Lodge now for 20 months. My sister and I are very pleased with the care that she receives. The whole building us always kept very well decorated and perfectly clean. They have entertainment every day. Singers, games, etc. My Mother has her hair done every week in the on-site salon. All the staff are very friendly and caring towards the residents. In the main area, there is a lounge section with bay windows for looking outside with comfy seats. Then a dinning and TV area. We are very pleased with my mother's care and would definitely recommend Newfield Lodge Care Home.

Newfield isn't like a care home and my Mum for a while thought she was in a hotel. I asked her what she thought of living here: She said I can't fault it.

The staff are very caring and her health has improved due to her being cared for.
The atmosphere in Newfield is great with lots going on that has made her feel at home.
She has a lovely room and a nice view.
It's nice to know that when you leave her she is being well looked after.
We'd like to take a moment to thank you for leaving such a wonderful review of our home. It means so much to our colleagues when they receive this level of praise; they work tirelessly throughout the year to deliver the kindest possible care to residents and hearing such fantastic feedback is really the icing on the cake to them! Thank you, once again, for your kind words.
The second thing is weekend access, no one on the door, and can take up to 5 minutes to get in.
Thank you for your review. We do take all feedback seriously and will share this feedback with the team. Thank you.
Newfield Lodge was recommended to me by a family friend. My mum has dementia and I consider she is well cared for and kept safe at this home. The staff are kind and professional. The home is clean and well maintained.
My mum's been in Newfield Lodge for a year now and I'm so happy with the care that she gets. The staff are so friendly and helpful.
My mum has been here 8 months now, she has settled well. Staff are attentive and approachable. Always clean in areas and carpets washed regularly in the day room. Activities on for residents each day, with plenty of singers attending. Feel that Mum is safe and well looked after and that I don't need to worry about her. Would recommend Newfield Lodge to anyone needing a care home. Family members who have visited say it's the cleanest home they've ever visited.
