Built over three floors, Sandfields is the epitome of comfortable living. The floors are divided into two suites, each benefiting from its own dining room, lounge and spacious en-suite bedrooms. Creating smaller communities in the home makes it easier for residents to get to know each other, and it keeps hustle and bustle to a minimum.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Very welcoming to us and our dog! Felt more like a hotel than a care home. Plenty of attentive friendly staff. Beautiful outdoor space. The cafe area is an especially useful space for visitors and residents to socialise.

Staff seem lovely and all take the time to speak to my Grandma. The garden is a lovely space which I know she appreciates as she spent a lot of time on her own. The activities available seem to be well run. She seems to settling in nicely.

My mother has been a resident since November 2022. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Activities are great and always encourages Mum to partake and sit in the lounge. The food is good and varied. Critical staff are attentive and focused and cared for by management to the resident's benefit!

I attended Sandfields between 7/12/2023 and 19/1/24 after a light day stay in hospital for treatment for phenomia. I found the time at Sandfields very pleasant and comfortable. The frequent attendance of carers was very helpful and came out ready to go back to my home, living alone with carers coming
for 1 hour, night and morning each day since. I am happy to recommend the service and kindness at Sandfields to anyone needing similar help.

Sandfields provided a room which they decorated with balloons and a banner for my aunt's 95th birthday party. All the staff we came into contact with were positive, engaged and extremely enthusiastic and supportive. It enabled us to give my aunt a memorable afternoon and we were left with an overwhelming
sense of kindness and care towards our very precious matriarch ( she would love this term!)
Thank you to everyone who made this occasion so very special for us all.

My mother is well looked after in the home and is happy in her room. Staff are friendly and attentive and check her regularly. Food is lovely and residents have a choice each day as to what they can eat. For visitors there is a lovely cafe to and sit in with homemade cakes made each day and self-service
for a range of tea and coffees. When weather is warmer the well-maintained gardens are lovely to walk around.

Consistently good care, in line with what I have come to expect over six years. Sometimes when members of staff from other units, or new staff, are on duty with my mother's care there is a slight drop off in performance due to unfamiliarity, as would be inevitable for any care home, but overall the

My father has been in Sandfields for a month and so far so good. He's still getting used to a care home after inability to live independently anymore. He has enjoyed the activities and food very much. The care he receives is good - the carers are friendly and kind and always remember the residents by
name. He loves walking in the garden area and is making new friends. He is treated with dignity and the home is comfortable and warm. Only downside is lack of parking during the week and laundry service needs improving.

Highly recommend this care home and consider it to be one of the best in Cheltenham. Mum has settled well and feels safe and comfortable with wonderful caring and friendly staff. Comfortable room, great facilities for making your own cuppa, lovely visitors/residents lounge, nice outside space. So reassuring.

Our mother has been a resident at Sandfields for just under two months and we could not be more relieved with the decision to settle her here. Sandfields is an immaculate care home with dedicated and professional staff at every level. Regular daily activities are on offer for residents' interest which
include quiz mornings, live performances by visiting musicians and even film screenings in a designated cinema room. The bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are spacious and cosy. Meals are well prepared and always with a choice of two options per course. There is a pleasant, social cafe area which can be enjoyed for family visits along with shaded seating in the well-kept garden for the warmer months. What also stands out is the organised, smooth-running way in which the home is managed and this is reflected in the calm, friendly interaction of the staff both towards the residents and family and friends. Thank you to all at Sandfields!

Mum came to Sandfields on emergency respite care. Since her arrival, she has been very well looked after and cared for by friendly supportive staff.
As her continuing needs change the staff have been able to adapt her care package to suit those needs.

Excellent care home staff can’t do enough for you, all so very helpful and very impressed the caring side is second to none and they are very good when it comes to bathing, they are very careful and very gentle.
The medical staff are A1 and always so helpful and if you need a doctor they will get one
ASAP.
The cleaning staff are again so very good, the place is spotless all the time plenty of freshly homemade cooked food and will take orders. Thank you so much really love it here.

We were very unsure about whether our father was ready to go into a care home, but having placed him at Sandfields, we realise it was the best decision. His health, both physically and mentally, has improved since being there for the last three months. He is happy and never gets bored, as he loves all
the activities that are laid on, and he gets to socialise regularly. The stress of having to go shopping, cook his meals, do washing, etc is gone enabling him to enjoy life. All the staff at Sandfields are friendly and always happy. No regrets on his and our side.

Malaika Charles

Job Title: Home Manager

I'm a qualified and experienced nurse – I've worked in hospitals and care homes for over twenty years.


I joined Care UK in 2014 and have worked my way up to clinical lead, deputy manager and now home manager.


No two days are ever the same here at Sandfields. Every resident is treated as an individual and according to their changing needs. My favourite part of the day is meeting with my team at the start of the day, receiving handovers from each unit and supporting colleagues to make decisions that will make a difference in the lives of the residents.


Outside of work, I'm very connected with my church and the local community. I also like to spend my free time going camping, sightseeing and connecting with friends and families all over the world via social media.
