Built over three floors, Sandfields is the epitome of comfortable living. The floors are divided into two suites, each benefiting from its own dining room, lounge and spacious en-suite bedrooms. Creating smaller communities in the home makes it easier for residents to get to know each other, and it keeps hustle and bustle to a minimum.

Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

A little more attention could be given to menu and food wastage. Senior citizens find it hard to digest Chilli's, Spaghetti Bolognese, Curries etc. Recently fish was served without bones being removed causing a problem. Hence all the lunches being returned. A less elaborate menu would be welcomed.

Thank you for your feedback around the choice of food available. We always welcome comments and are really keen to adapt menus to suit our residents’ needs. In fact we have regular monthly resident meetings with the Head Chef in attendance where we ask for feedback from everyone who is able to attend, ensuring that we adapt the menus to suit their needs and preferences. Many thanks also for your feedback regarding the fish. This was caused by a supply issue which we immediately rectified with the supplier.

Since moving in the relief of being looked after has made me and my family feel at ease. The staff are wonderful and it's nice to have a giggle with them everyday.

Staff are always friendly and welcoming. They have been very supportive to my mother, offering extra assistance when needed. Always responsive to request/comments on her care package.

My mother has just come to the end of a 5 week stay at Sandfields to recuperate after a 5 week stay in Cheltenham General following a major heart attack and fractured neck of femur. She arrived in a wheelchair, low in spirit, no interest in food, having lost a considerable amount of weight while in
hospital, weight she didn't really have to lose.


Today, mobilising well, enjoying food and has started to regain weight. She is full of praise for the staff and care, has regained a lot of independence and is returning to her flat tomorrow.

Malaika Charles

Job Title: Home Manager

I'm a qualified and experienced nurse – I've worked in hospitals and care homes for over twenty years.


I joined Care UK in 2014 and have worked my way up to clinical lead, deputy manager and now home manager.


No two days are ever the same here at Sandfields. Every resident is treated as an individual and according to their changing needs. My favourite part of the day is meeting with my team at the start of the day, receiving handovers from each unit and supporting colleagues to make decisions that will make a difference in the lives of the residents.


Outside of work, I'm very connected with my church and the local community. I also like to spend my free time going camping, sightseeing and connecting with friends and families all over the world via social media.
