Everywhere is well maintained, the resident's rooms are large and comfortable.
The activities staff work tirelessly and enthusiastically providing a wide range of things to enrich the lives of residents. Visitors are encouraged to join in too. My husband and I have been able to share in the pleasure of entertainments and activities organised by the team. Our grandchildren have enjoyed Victorian afternoons, Christmas decoration making sessions and more.
My husband is given the best of care. His many medical needs are attended to with diligence. During difficult episodes, the managers and staff have given me their time and support and my husband has been treated with respect, kindness and understanding.
Mum liked the bright coffee shop area, was also enthused by the activities laid on, and took up some old hobbies again.
The
Sadly, her health declined over Christmas and she passed away in January. However, on several occasions beforehand she told me how well-cared for and safe she felt at Sandfields. It is a comfort that she spent her last months in such a pleasant environment and I would recommend Sandfields wholeheartedly.
We are grateful for your constructive feedback and are delighted with the positive comments and scores for the care and support we provide. I understand that the home manager has already been in touch to discuss the issues regarding the laundry service. Unfortunately, in this instance, the iron-on labels in your husband’s clothes washed off after several washes and it took a little while to reconcile the unlabelled items back to your husband. We are pleased this has now been resolved and to ensure this does not happen again, we are advising all residents and their families to opt for sew-on- labels. Your feedback is important to us and helps us to make improvements and so we thank you for taking the time to share your views.
Since my wife has become a resident my opinion of it has increased. All the staff know her, will stop and chat and always with a smile. And this is not confined to the care workers but also to the management, administration, catering and maintenance staff.
Whilst my wife is not really aware of her change of home, for the family and me, it has not been so easy. Here again, the staff at Sandfields have been wonderful. They have taken time out to spend time with me to help me through my difficulties in coping with this massive change to our lives.
Thank you all!

I'm a qualified and experienced nurse – I've worked in hospitals and care homes for over twenty years.
I joined Care UK in 2014 and have worked my way up to clinical lead, deputy manager and now home manager.
No two days are ever the same here at Sandfields. Every resident is treated as an individual and according to their changing needs. My favourite part of the day is meeting with my team at the start of the day, receiving handovers from each unit and supporting colleagues to make decisions that will make a difference in the lives of the residents.
Outside of work, I'm very connected with my church and the local community. I also like to spend my free time going camping, sightseeing and connecting with friends and families all over the world via social media.
