other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I found the whole experience a delight and pleasure, better than any hotel. You became part of the family and I was sad to leave. All the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Just wish I could afford to stay longer until my injury healed properly, but I hope to pop in and see everyone

I have visited my mother on various occasions over the last few weeks and have been impressed with the facilities and the staff. I especially liked the café and imagine that in the summer the garden will be lovely too. There seems to be a variety of continue available which mum joins in when she wishes.
I believe there is good communication with my brother who is the family point of contact.

The setting at Sandfields is wonderful but it is the care and attention given to residents and resident's family and visitors by all the staff I have encountered since my sister moved there in November. Nothing is too much trouble.

From our first visit to look around Sandfields, we have been most impressed with everything. The staff were very welcoming and the lifestyle team have gone the extra mile to involve our mother who is blind and deaf, in many varied group and individual activities.
All is first class - carers who really

I am visiting my mother at Sandfields from the USA. It is my first visit since she came to the home in June 2017. I am very impressed with the quality of care, the cleanliness and overall appearance of the facility compared to several other care homes I have visited in the area. Sandfields is outstanding.

My mum, unfortunately, died on 1st December 2017 but during the 18 months she lived at Sandfields she was very happy, she was very well looked after, treated with great care and respect. She felt she was one of the "Sandfields Family" and much loved. You should be very proud of the staff at St Georges
Road. I can never thank them enough for the love and care they gave mum to the very end. Thank you all.

From the very start, Sandfields staff have been so caring and kind that my mother-in-law has transitioned to living here without even asking to come home. We are so relieved that she is so safe and well cared for and her daughter and I have no hesitation in recommending Sandfields to anyone who asks.

Sandfields are wonderful! Although they have up to ninety residents in one building. My mum lived in a self-contained home with fifteen residents and has been there for nearly two years. Her own room is large, light, clean and airy. The management of the unit is excellent.


All levels of care are

what you would hope for. Individual needs are paramount and Mum has everything she asks for as well as a changing and varied program of daily activities and events to choose from.


It has been a great comfort to me to know that mum is constantly cared for and with no set visiting times, that I can visit whenever I like.


All aspects of general living are like a five-star hotel with everything well taken care of from reception, admin, maintenance, cleaning through to gourmet food.


The communal areas and facilities are well thought out and intelligently used providing an overall modern, homely and relevant lifestyle.

My fiance's mother has Lewy Bodies Dementia, which took some time to diagnose due to other medical conditions.
After in-depth research into care homes in the Cheltenham and Gloucester general area, Sandfields was the most informative, welcoming and clean facility. The rooms spacious and airy, the
food tasty and plentiful and most importantly, the staff are caring, helpful, sympathetic and gentle. Highly recommend.

My stepmother has been a resident at Sandfields for nearly three months. After living on her own for nearly four years in a fairly isolated village, I was apprehensive as to how she would adjust to ‘institutionalised’ care. However, she has settled in well - due to the fantastic support and kindness
of all the staff. Her overall state of mind is so much better and she seems to have a much more positive approach to life generally. She loves the activities, particularly the music and animal related ones. Her physical health has improved and she tells me on every visit I make - how good the staff are.


I am particularly impressed with the cleanliness and ‘fresh smell’ of the Sandfields environment. Its location is ideally situated for both local rail and motorway links.

My mum, my sister and I would like to give our whole and heartfelt thanks to everyone at Sandfields in Cheltenham, where my wonderful daddy spent the last two weeks of his life.
He was so wonderfully cared for by the superb staff. He was kept comfortable and pain-free, by the most lovely, kind and
caring people. They treated him with the utmost respect, and we had absolute trust in them. During his last few days, they unquestioningly supported us to be with him, always checking to see if we (and he) had everything we needed, from a spare duvet to a hug or a cup of tea. I had never thought that care homes care could be like this, and now I think that we are very lucky to have found Sandfields when we did, and to have been able to spend these last few days with my dad, surrounded by so much love and support.
Thank you to everyone, from the manager, receptionist, activities coordinators, handy man, and of course all the remarkable nurses, all of whom we knew by name in that short time.

Frist class in all departments. Made a very sad time bearable and went above and beyond the 'call of duty'. The whole family is cared for and made to feel most welcome. The standard of rooms, garden, food is excellent.
Some of the staff are excellent, and Mum is always brought in her wheelchair into the dining room and lounge areas.
I especially like the residents and visitors café downstairs with free self-service tea/coffee and cakes and patio doors to the garden.
At
mealtimes, it would be nice if there were extra staff on hand to help some residents eat and staff to push wheelchairs into the garden for residents who can't walk.

Mum moved to Sandfields for respite care following a stay in hospital. She was made to feel very welcome from the moment she arrived.
The staff cannot be praised highly enough for the care they provide and the respect they have for the residents.
they went out of their way to find out what Mum likes
in both the way she is looked after, her interests and the food she likes to eat.
Her recovery was nothing less than remarkable with her soon being able to enjoy the activities, the cafe and gardens.
It is great to see Mum happy again. So much so, she has decided to stay at Sandfields on a permanent basis. All the staff, without exception, go out of their way to get to know the residents and always have time to speak with them and help with whatever they need.
This includes management and admin staff who are very supportive and interactive with residents and family.
As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and friendly.

Sandfields is the best care home I have ever visited. The quality of care right from the managers to the cleaners are professional and caring. Nothing is too much trouble for them. My friend was there for thirteen months until she sadly passed away. She was lucky to have been in such a caring environment

The staff at Sandfields make this a home from home for the residents and the family. I am so thankful my mum spent the last 18 months of her life in a place that cared so well for her. From the lovely food, the range of brilliant activities to the lovely decor - all you could want. Yet, even more importantly

After 4 months of excellent care, sadly he died early in March. Suffering from terminal advanced cancer, he was transferred from hospital and was nursed and cared for by an excellent team of nurses and care assistants, right to the end. Bedridden, he was unable to participate in the many well-organised
activities which were offered. The ambience of Sandfields was light and very modern and visitors were also welcomed by the entire staff with a lovely smile and comforted at the end. We are so glad we chose Sandfields.

Job Title: Home Manager

I'm a qualified and experienced nurse – I've worked in hospitals and care homes for over twenty years.


I joined Care UK in 2014 and have worked my way up to clinical lead, deputy manager and now home manager.


No two days are ever the same here at Sandfields. Every resident is treated as an individual and according to their changing needs. My favourite part of the day is meeting with my team at the start of the day, receiving handovers from each unit and supporting colleagues to make decisions that will make a difference in the lives of the residents.


Outside of work, I'm very connected with my church and the local community. I also like to spend my free time going camping, sightseeing and connecting with friends and families all over the world via social media.
