Due to Covid 19 I have been unable to go into the care home. My review is therefore based purely on my interaction with staff on the telephone for the last 4 months. I cannot fault the proactive care provided for my very elderly mother. Any issues were dealt with immediately and I was kept informed at every turn. The admin staff are excellent nothing is too much trouble for them. The care staff got to know my mother quickly and were well informed when I phoned to ask how she was. They were as patient with me as the residents! I feel my 95 year old mother has been looked after in a gentle, caring and dignified way.

From our very first visit to this care home, we knew it was the right place for our mother to be. There was a lovely atmosphere and a relaxed, calm yet attentive feel, it was spacious with good outdoor gardens, that weren't just for show. The one enduring point about this home, is, without doubt, the outstanding team of people that work here, from the reception team to the manager. The care was always exceptional. It is rare to experience a level of commitment and professionalism throughout every team member, every time we either visited or spoke on the phone. With the awful Pandemic and visiting restricted, I had no doubt my mother was in the best place and being looked after by the best people. The compassion and thoughtfulness shown towards the end of my mother's life was truly memorable. I recommend Apple Trees to everyone I speak to.

My parents were long term residents. Father 5 years and Mother 3 years +. Standards of cleanliness and housekeeping, laundry and nutrition were always excellent. Care very good. Staff mostly very friendly and communicative. Biggest problem was the information stream. No one person ever took role of communicator. We were not local, visited 3 weekly. Always had to phone leave message, wait for feedback, always lengthy and never a simple path. Why no relative answerphone line?

The care and kindness and dignity shown to my husband and ourselves were beyond measure. If I had had to choose where my husband would spend his final days it could not have been bettered anywhere.

The care given to my mum was exemplary. The care staff were always able to explain mum's care needs and how she had been. They obviously 'knew' her and she was more than just another body. I always visited unannounced, and mum was always well turned out and sweet-smelling, and most importantly, she was happy and content. Having worked as a social worker and visited many residential care homes, I understand some of the demands and difficulties, and some of the concerns, but I can truly say that I was totally happy with my mum's placement.

My father has settled extremely well to his new environment. This is because it is friendly and relaxed with caring staff who have time for the residents. There is also a well-organised activity calendar.

My mum was at Apple Trees for over 3 years. She arrived with dementia. I visited regularly and she always seemed much calmer and less anxious than she had been in her own home. Towards the end of her life I was spending 6 or 7 hours a day with her, as a result I got to see the staff very close up across all their shifts. The way they dealt with Mum and all the other residents was just amazing! I have nothing but praise for all of the staff without exception. They are totally focused on the residents and their needs. Always a quiet word and always reassuring. Residents are always clean and well turned out.

My father was in Apple Trees for just over a month before he died and the care and attention were brilliant. My father was completely comfortable and he felt safe and was treated with respect.
For me, this care and compassion was essential and was not only for him but myself.

I heartily recommend this home and all the staff one hundred per cent.

My father was a resident at Apple Trees for around 16 months until his recent death. He was at all times treated with dignity, compassion and kindness. The staff have all been kind and caring and have done their best to make his last year of life as comfortable as possible.

Review from Angela C (Niece of Resident) published on 6 November 2018 Submitted via Postal Card

My aunt has received exceptional care since moving to Apple Trees in November 2017. She has dementia and had become isolated and quite withdrawn. Almost a year later, she is more confident, chats to people as her condition allows and loves the outings and entertainments. She often tells me what good care she has from all the staff. I'm impressed by how quickly staff respond to anything I ask and how well they relate to and help my aunt and I'm amazed at how well she now looks and how happy she is. The calm friendly, homely atmosphere really make her feel secure and looked after. I'm very grateful for her care as I live away from Grantham and have absolutely no worries about her well-being.

On entering Apple Trees Care and Reablement Centre you feel very welcomed and homely. Staff in this care home are absolutely fabulous and nothing is too much trouble for the residents from the staff in the kitchen to management they all deserve a big thank you for what they do daily. As a relation to the resident (my father who was in for rehabilitation after a knee replacement), I would highly recommend a stay or permanent residency here. Beautiful place.

I am very pleased with the care that my dad gets. He is well fed and when looked after the staff are excellent (though at times I think they are understaffed). On the whole, I am very impressed with the quality of the home itself and the care it provides.
