Overall I am impressed with the care afforded to my mother over the last 2 and a half years. There have been certain administrative lapses from time to time and a high staff turnover has affected continuity. However, the staff are unfailingly pleasant and caring and the atmosphere of the home is always welcoming.

My aunt is very happy at Maycroft Manor and is very well cared for overall. Any issues we have are minor and it's reassuring to see that the team are making an effort to respond to any comments. We don't see the issues of neglect that are commonly reported in some care homes.

My mother has been at Maycroft Manor almost from when it opened. I have always been very pleased with the care the staff have given her and their attitude towards her and that there is always familiar staff on duty.

The standard of care is generally very high. Staff turnover is reasonably low and the care provided is consistent. Communications between relatives and management could be improved as could communication internally between colleagues and departments.

For example, neither my brother nor I know who is the "go to" person responsible for our Mother's care. An organisation chart showing where responsibilities lie and with contact details would be very helpful.

I would recommend Maycroft Manor care home to anyone looking for a care home. The buildings and gardens are well kept and all the communal spaces are open to all. The provision of a Bistro cafe on the ground floor is a great space for residents, relatives and visitors to share and provides a good welcome.
The residents' rooms are very good and can be made to feel like home with their own possessions.
The staff are all very caring and friendly and all undergo training. There is also a weekly plan of activities that residents can participate in at their leisure.
There are sometimes problems with communication but there is an atmosphere of being open and staff and management are always available to listen and discuss any issues.

My mother has been there for two years and we have been, in general, very happy.

Providing care for people with poor health conditions can be tricky as the resident may not always be clear about their needs. Maycroft builds great relationships with the resident's family and is attentive and reactive to family concerns. The overall atmosphere is one of kindness, care, positivity and happiness. It is an excellent care home.

My mother has been a resident of Maycroft Manor since Nov 2015 and during this time has received good care from the home. The staff are caring and friendly and always happy to help her in any situation which occurs.
Since my mother has been at Maycroft I have seen her health improve which has been down to the care and support received from the staff.
Over the last 3 months, I have seen a great improvement in the day to day running of the home and a great effort has been made to improve the facilities and especially the lifestyle activities and the food.
Recently they have put on a great barbecue which was held on the rooftop garden and a summer party which was excellent (even with the rain) and a great success.

The surroundings and interior of Maycroft Manor are of a high standard and this provides the residents with a positive daily outlook.

Maycroft Manor Care Home has a workforce of kind, efficient, helpful and understanding people. Each carer or member of teams such as activities does their very best to get to know the residents and attend to their needs to make their stay with them as happy, comfortable and rewarding as possible. My mother is at a point where her dementia has just been diagnosed and she gets upset because she knows she forgets and gets confused. My experience of every member of the team is that they understand this and work with Mum accordingly. It is a place I would very much recommend to other people in similar situations. My one criticism is that the food is perhaps not as good as it is described. Also in an ideal world, the staff are very busy but it would be wonderful if an additional structure could be added for staff to act just as companions and sit and chat with the residents for a little time each day.

My father moved in recently and has found that Maycroft is a safe and pleasant place to live, with good care from a team of cheerful, thoughtful, professional staff who are all kind and seek to make him comfortable.
The facilities are all very good, well designed and decorated to a high standard so that the overall feel is of living in a four-star hotel. The place feels clean and welcoming, with a particularly attractive buzz around the café. It is impossible for any care home to be the same as your own family home but living in Maycroft is as good an alternative as is reasonably possible.

There are no areas of concern. There is room for improvement, such as more interesting food and activities, however, these are satisfactory and must respect that the residents have differing needs and desires. The managers and staff continuously review potential changes to make the conditions for residents as safe, comfortable and happy as possible.

In the 2 years that my father-in-law has been living at Maycroft Manor, he has received exemplary care. The staff deliver their care with the right balance of professionalism and warmth and good humour. The housekeeping and hospitality teams are friendly and welcoming and always greet residents by name. This is something that is remarked upon by visitors.

Lots of treats, and staff are very interested in residents' life stories and individual foibles and quirks.

My father came to Maycroft in April and is happy and settled in his new environment. He has a lovely room and is treated with respect and kindness by the carers and nursing staff. Access to the excellent in-house physiotherapists has meant better mobility and increased opportunities to explore the lovely surroundings.
The communal areas here are tastefully decorated and provide a homely atmosphere. Dad can enjoy the varied activities or simply relax with family and friends. The staff are endlessly cheerful and helpful. They are keen to help the residents integrate and to socialise. My father is enjoying building relationships with them and the other residents.

We feel his sense of wellbeing has greatly improved since moving to Maycroft Manor.

My grandfather stayed Maycroft for around seven months and the staff there took really excellent care of him and provided him with a very comfortable and enjoyable place to live and for us to visit. We always felt very welcome, especially when I came with my young children, and it was a pleasure to see him there. Sadly my grandfather passed away at the end of his time there and even thought this was a very distressing period for us all we were glad he spent that time in Maycroft and not in the hospital and he received just as good care, even on the residential ground level. All the staff supported him and us round the clock and cared deeply for him and his well-being. We could not have asked for a more supportive environment for us to experience his passing in.

Low value for money - staying at Maycroft is extremely expensive for the standards achieved. Initially did not meet the expectations described in the brochures. There is little "above and beyond" in the services or facilities, considering the monthly cost. It has taken very many months to improve the standard of food, which seems to be traditional "old people's home" type of food, rather that more appealing, fresh, nutritious/balanced, quality meals, that would be expected.
The general staff and the customer relationship manager are helpful and welcoming, but during my visits I have not interacted with the senior manager(s) who should be more visible and proactive in the day to day operation of the home and getting to know their clients, and as a way to get good and accurate feedback and finding out the things that would improve value for money.

When mum has been ill, she receives good care and attention. her room is nice, although quite dark. It's great that Maycroft smells nice!!

My mother spent 4 months at Maycroft Manor until her recent death. Throughout that time, we were very impressed by the care that she received, which was of the highest order. The staff were unfailingly cheerful, thoughtful and compassionate. Activities were tailored to her needs, and she was helped to have as fulfilled a life as possible.

As her mobility and general health declined, they were generous in the time they spent with my mother, and in "just dropping in" to check on her and to see that she was alright. She was kept comfortable and happy until the end.

My mum is very happy at Maycroft Manor. She loves her room and the food and is taking part in lots of the activities on offer. When I visit I am made to feel very welcome and enjoy having a cup of coffee with mum in the bistro. We are more than happy with Maycroft Manor and would recommend it.
