Everything has gone very smoothly moving our mother in. The staff have been very friendly and our mother is a lot happier and healthier having moved in. The activities seem regular and I notice that they are very inclusive of the residents. There is a good social atmosphere in the home - the coffee shop is very key to that.

Maycroft is one of a kind and I wish all care homes had this high level of care. Staff are very friendly and one feels at ease as you enter the building.

I decided to have two weeks recuperation at Maycroft after a hip replacement operation. I was welcomed warmly by friendly and attentive staff throughout my whole stay. They helped me whenever I required assistance, night or day and was made to feel very much at home in a caring environment. My friends could visit often, they were always greeted kindly. The home is clean, fresh and happy. I would have no hesitation in recommending my friends. The only area which needs attention is the presentation of the meals which are always freshly cooked, but unimaginatively presented. My two weeks here were exactly what I needed to get back on my feet and feel relaxed.

I have nothing but praise from the way we were all treated - not only my mother in law. We enjoyed our visits because of the care and consideration we received. The home itself was like a hotel, beautiful decorated - not at all clinical which is so important. The nurses and carers looked after my mother in law with dignity, diligence and love. So much so that at the end she said she felt safe. Thank you all especially 2 carers who were always there for her. We wish she had had longer to enjoy all the facilities on offer.

My mother was a very independent woman. This meant that her state of health on arrival at Maycroft was poor, in fact much poorer than we all realised. She therefore needed a high level of nursing and this is what Maycroft provided. The quality of care provided was exemplary and the dedication of the staff to the residents was fist class. Two members of staff, in particular, went to great lengths to ensure that the last few days of mother's life were as comfortable as possible. On her last night the nurse sat with her for extended periods and I could not have asked for more. Well done Maycroft. I am glad mum stayed with you - many thanks.

I am very happy here because the staff are so kind, friendly and helpful.

My room is beautiful and spacious and the rest of the building is so beautiful, giving a wonderful ambience for all to enjoy. Since coming here, I have made very good progress in my mobility and my appetite has come on in leaps and bounds. I receive a weekly hair do which makes me feel like a "Lady" that's well care for I couldn't wish for more!

I have been here for a fortnights respite care. The staff in the home are the best and kindest I have ever met in my 85 years. Always good fun, nothing is too much trouble. I will come here for respite care any time. There should be more gluten free options.

My husband went into Maycroft for a couple of weeks respite care to give us both a break. During his stay, he was looked after very well by all the staff who attended him. He was quite happy whilst there and I was satisfied with the care he received. I would have no hesitation allowing another visit there should it be needed in the future.

My mother chose to go into care just before we went on holiday which was not ideal. However she was very well cared for and supported in our absence. The food is not ideal but we have been able to suggest alternatives which she would prefer and theses are now being served.

Her room is very good and she has a private patio where she can sit and smoke! As of yet she has chosen to stay on her patio rather than socialise, but we hope she will venture further afield in the near future. In general the staff are very friendly and caring, but there have been some problems with the agency staff. Although she would prefer to be living in her own home, she now agrees this is the best alternative.

Reply from Hannah Taylor, Marketing Coordinator at Hallmark Maycroft Manor

We take all feedback seriously and are pleased to hear that the adjustment in catering requirements has had a positive impact. We are actively recruiting new team members to eradicate the use of agency within the home.

Very warm and welcoming staff throughout a very well maintained building. After a short time so far in the residence mum has looked and felt so much better. If anything, though circumstances unexplained, the activities are not always well attended or in one case, cancelled with no prior notice. Obviously some residents are not able to socialise, however perhaps more can be done to encourage people to, particularly when a new arrival moves in.

Reply from Hannah Taylor, Marketing Coordinator at Hallmark Maycroft Manor

We appreciate the feedback and acknowledge the improvements that can be made in the lifestyle provision and at the home. We have recently appointed a new lifestyle coordinator at the home who is focusing on improving lifestyle for all residents.

I have found that Mum is well cared for and staff have an understanding of her illness and mental state. They are always ready to help and support us as a family. I feel safe in the knowledge that mum is safe and they will discuss with us the care of mum. The care staff show love and respect and have a wonderful way of helping mum to cope.

My mother was exceptionally well cared for at a personal level some wonderful staff. Of course we had issues especially as the home was new. But most impressively these were addressed. At the end of my mothers care the organisation, management and quality of care was fantastic. Many staff have been exceptional.

My brother and I had to relocate our mother very quickly from the North West and it was a relief that Maycroft Manor very efficiently enabled us to do so. Mother has been made very welcome and the numerous staff have professionally been gauging her needs since her arrival.
The atmosphere is friendly, enjoyable and helpful, the facilities are very good and the building very spacious. There are always people to help with any queries and there is equally good night-time care.

When visiting, the staff seem very attentive and knowledgeable regarding the residents and I am confident we have found the right place for mum!
