Overall very good care for both my parents.
I am happy with my parents' general health and the food and environment they experience.
There could be more communication on a regular basis to let me know how they are doing.

My mother has been a resident at Maycroft for the last three years.
Throughout that time she has been supported by the staff here with great care and exceptional attention to the different needs that my mother has at this challenging time in her life.
All the staff seem to have a genuine fondness
for my mother and an understanding of her as an individual as well as her dementia needs.
She is treated with dignity at all times and staff are always warm and friendly to all my family.

My mother has been here for 1 year, I feel she is looked after well and I don't worry about her safety.
The staff are kind and caring.
My mother has dementia and has taken a long time to settle here.
Not the fault of the staff but her illness, which causes her great confusion.

I have found on my 2 weekly visits an excellent atmosphere at Maycroft Manor. Care staff always close at hand, friendly and co-operative. All residents appear happy and content. Allowed to walk about on this floor. Staff interaction i.e visitors and residents very good. It is very apparent all are well

The carers are very helpful to me when I ask any questions, especially some members of staff in particular. Excellent care for my dad from these people as well. They make me very welcome when I visit. When I've had a problem its been sorted out very quickly.

Overall, I'm fairly happy with the care my relative receives. There are, however, a few areas that need attention. The permanent staff in which I am very happy with are caring, compassionate and person-centred. The agency staff do not seem to understand the concept of person-centred care and do not
follow corporate policy. One agency staff turned my relative's television off and told her to go to sleep when clearly my relative did not want this-this is not person-centred care.
Food is another issue, which has been ongoing for over a year. My relative writes down and says what she would like to eat but very rarely is given it. Why is this such a problem?

Very happy with Maycroft Manor. Staff are very kind, helpful and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble. Lots of activities and trips to attend.
Dad settled well, taken mum a little longer but staff helped her a great deal.
It is nice to have peace of mind that they are safe.

I have been very impressed with the personalised care and attention my aunt has received at Maycroft Manor. The staff are attentive without being intrusive.
Staff actively encourage residents to participate in activities and socialisation. They have been flexible with the arrangements transition between

Maycroft Manor provides a wonderful environment for its residents in terms of the physical space and facilities. With wide, tastefully decorated corridors and public areas and plush residential rooms, it has the feel of a top quality hotel rather than a home. The rooms are cleaned very regularly and
residents' laundry is collected and returned swiftly. All regular staff, whether they are cleaners, involved in the laundry service, maintenance personnel, activity staff, office staff or carers are friendly, helpful and responsive and show an interest in the residents, making them feel at home and cared for. My mum has been a resident for 20 months and is now very settled. An excellent activity programme has been reduced recently due to staffing issues and there seems to be an increase in agency carers who are strangers to the residents and less likely to be aware of their needs. Hopefully, this situation will improve in the near future and normal service will be resumed!

I was given the exact room I saw in the brochure when I walked in. The staff are my friends, not just people looking after you. The place is spotlessly clean and owners do everything possible for people's comfort. The Manager always listens and put things right if they go wrong. I have lived here for
four and a half years. This is the best home you can find in Brighton and Hove.
