The staff do their utmost to ensure that residents receive all the care they require, physical and emotional. This has been a very trying time for all. They are also very good at supporting relatives at end of life. Currently, I am facilitating a garden project which is involving as many residents as possible with making light spinners, wind chimes and in planting and caring for the area.
Thank you N C, you add great value to the team and we thank you for volunteering.
I would also like to thank the staff for their dedication in looking after our loved ones, especially during this time.
Thank you for your comments; we will share them with all staff.
We are all so grateful to you all so again A BIG THANK YOU and hope we can all get back soon to coming in again.
Janice, thank you for your review, we will share with all the staff.
I have always found all the staff go above and beyond their work expectations and always have a smile on their faces, nothing is too much for them. They treat all residents the same and give them respect.
Many thanks for taking the time to review Helene, we will feedback to all staff.

Andrea, thank you for your review. It has been really lovely to see all residents/families appreciate the Summerhouse.
Wonderful reception from the Manager and care team at Woodland Grove. Professional, friendly, caring, and dealt with a difficult situation with efficiency and compassion. Communication is always excellent, and the resident's family and I are very happy to finally have peace of mind that he is being very well looked after.
Hi Alise, many thanks for your review. We will ensure the team are notified.
I do find I need to keep an eye on things. Although in the main the carers are have been very good, there have been occasions when it has been difficult to find help when needed as they do seem to disappear on breaks en masse. Any concerns I have had are quickly attended to when brought to the attention of senior staff/management.
We appreciate the time you have taken to post a review. We will remain effectively responsive to any concerns.
All staff across all aspects of care have demonstrated commitment, understanding and professionalism in their roles.
Family members on visiting the home are shown the same friendliness and staff are always available to answer any questions or provide any items that may be required.
I would not hesitate in recommending Woodland Grove to other family or friends.
Afterall, we were recommended to the home and we have not been disappointed.
Thank you for your positive review.
A lovely home - Truly cared for my Mother-in-law and the rest of the family. Clean, friendly and caring in the proper sense!
We had a bad experience on the first night due to poor agency and permanent staff. This was dealt with promptly and effectively. After this the care my Mum received was excellent. Some of the staff showed a level of genuine and sincere care way above the personal care expected of their role. The current, interim, management are making good progress at ensuring high standards across the board.
My Mum was in Woodland Grove from October 2017 until February 2018. The staff at Woodland helped make my Mum's last few months a peaceful and very pleasant environment. From the main staff to cleaners, everyone was lovely. I loved you all and so did my dear Mum. Thank you.
Staff are most helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Everywhere is clean.
I was treated well at local A&E, and 'released' late in the evening. Am awaiting follow-up visits soon.
Woodland Grove has many good aspects to it. And this post is to add my own grateful comments to those who responded so professionally and promptly.
Thank you, Woodland Grove.
Thank you for your kind words Lana, they mean a lot. It was a real pleasure to have known your mum and to get to know her family too. We will also miss all of you, please do keep in touch.
A lovely warm and welcoming home with the excellent staff. Very well managed and run with great support and nursing staff.
Good sized rooms and good, fresh food with an excellent Bristo for residents and families, with coffee, snacks and even beer. Lovely gardens suitable for wheelchairs. Good security and sensible parking arrangements. Overall, top of my list.
Oh and TV in all rooms and lots of activities with super activity staff.
So pleased you have enjoyed the facilities and hospitality at Woodland Grove. Thank you for your kind comments.
From day one my mother was there I was at complete rest in my head, to know that my mum was cared for but also treated with great kindness from all staff.
This home should have an award.
Our mum was a resident in Woodland from September 2016 to January 2017 when she sadly passed away. She had been in the hospital and in bed from July to September. At Woodland, she was able to be up most days in her wheelchair and participate in some of the varied activities that Woodland provides. Mum was nearly 91 when she died and was very frail. The staff on the nursing floor were always so kind and respectful of mum. As mum was nearing the end, the staff continued to care for mum with compassion but they also cared for her family with the same degree of attention, supporting us emotionally as well as practically by making sure we were watered and fed. We would like to amplify the previous comments that Woodland is an exceptional place and the staff are truly amazing and inspiring. Several of them have experienced their own tragic losses and their empathy with the residents and their families is second to none. We are so glad that we chose Woodland to look after mum in her final days.
Thank you so much for your lovely sentiments. I will ensure that all team members on the nursing community are aware of your review. I was particularly pleased to hear about your comments regarding the compassion extended to your mum and family, my very best to you all.
Choosing a care home for a friend or relative is so difficult especially if you live far away. Woodland Grove was the instant choice. The welcoming atmosphere, the bright, fresh entrance hall, the wide corridors, as well as the smiles on the faces of the staff, residents and visitors alike. My friend has now been a resident for nearly six months. She has her own pictures in her room and delights in showing friends around. I am able to join her for a delicious lunch at a very reasonable cost in the 'bistro'. The staff care, not only for the residents but also their friends and relatives. I have been able to phone for information, to send a message, to maintain contact even though I live in France. I love following the activities that are regularly put on the Facebook page as I can see how my friend is. Woodland Grove is an example of excellence and should be the norm. Thank you.
Kind regards.
The service and care received from all the staff at Woodland Grove were exemplary and beyond all expectation. The team on the nursing wing did much more that we expected, not only to care for my husband but also to make our two young children feel comfortable and importantly have only happy memories of the home. We will never forget their efforts and courtesy during the last few weeks and moments of my husband's life. A truly awesome group of human beings.
Heartfelt thanks for you kind and generous comments. It was good to hear that the dedicated nursing team at Woodland Grove were able to help at a very difficult time. You and your family are in our thoughts, kindest regards
My son was a resident for just over a month. He was only 39 and terminally ill with a brain tumour. My daughter-in-law was desperately looking for somewhere for my son to go and from the minute she contacted the home we felt we were in good hands. So, the manager went that night to see her in the hospital and had my son transferred more the next day. My son received the best of physical care from the staff and we, as a family were treated with such care and support. We have nothing but praise for the home, we could not have wished for him to have spent his days in such a lovely place. All his visitors commented on what a wonderful place it is.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We were privileged to have the opportunity to help at at difficult time for all. Kindest regards Jo and all at Woodland Grove.

Meet the Team (4)

I am a qualified Biomedical Scientist and specialised in Blood Transfusion. I worked for the NHS before I decided to join the Health and Social Care sector in 2012. My first role was at a small residential care setting for the elderly. I joined as a Deputy Manager and progressed to a Registered Manager role. Since then, I have been in various management roles within the sector.
I joined Oakland Care in 2020 as a Unit Manager. I then progressed to the Head of Memory and Residential Care Role before moving into the Deputy Manager Role and now General Manager. I have a passion for providing exceptional care and developing a team that goes above and beyond in the care they provide.

I have an academic background in Literature and Journalism. However, driven by the desire to be part of a meaningful change, in 2019, I decided to transition into the Social and Healthcare sector. This is when I joined Oakland Care as a Healthcare Assistant, and I have since advanced through various roles, progressively working my way up to my current position as Deputy Manager. My journey has given me a deep understanding of both the personal and professional aspects of care. As a Deputy Manager, I aim to ensure that our residents receive exceptional care and that my team is led with inspiration, compassion, and integrity. I recently earned a qualification in therapeutic counselling and am interested in all things philosophy and psychology.

I have supported Care Homes for over 9 years and previously worked in Leisure and HR. My role is to effectively manage the occupancy levels of both Lambwood Heights and Woodland Grove care homes and build positive relationships with residents, families and external contacts in the community.
I work closely with the marketing department and our lifestyles teams to ensure our services are promoted to reflect the excellent care and support we provide. The residents are our extended family who we love to nurture and share daily life with whilst keeping them safe and well. I’m always delighted to meet new families and support their journey.

Before starting at Woodland Grove, my previous role was event coordinator in a museum and I have always worked in a creative industry. I helped to create big events such as private view and private parties.
I have a passion for creating creative and inclusive opportunities for diverse groups and making them explore different art and crafts.I really enjoy also sports activities like keep fit and name the tune where we explore different music and create a great atmosphere.
