We cannot thank the team enough for all they did for our parents. Both were there to get them back together after a spell in hospital - The nursing team were terrific and the care assistants were truly fabulous. It is evident throughout the quality of this place. We always wanted to care for our parents at home and were so worried when we no longer had a choice, but we needn't have been so nervous - This really is a 'home from home.' It became their place and ours. For the first time for a while, we were able to sleep properly knowing they were being well cared for throughout. Stands out a mile from others. There is just no comparison and a benchmark for the industry. The manager was fantastic and helped us through a difficult time as we brought then together again. Thank you so much to all.
Thank you so much for your kind comments at such a difficult time. We were privileged to be able to assist at a time of need and play our small part . I will ensure all team members are made aware of your lovely comments. Wishing you the very best , Jo Coughlan
The home provides a safe and warm/caring environment for the residents. An innovative approach to stimulating and engaging residents. Residents are always clean, rooms clean, clothes well laundered. The home is well organised to ensure my parent's health and welfare needs were quickly met and problems were tackled and escalated as appropriate. Clear lines of command and helpful advice provided on escalating problems and issues. Effective leadership and management ensure my parents receive high-quality person-centred care. The staff use a wide range of evidence from observation, medical records, what I and other relatives say to tailor their treatment and care. The staff are compassionate, kind, good humoured and have treated my parents with the utmost dignity and respect. The home works hard to provide a caring and compassionate environment for both my parents and relatives.
My godmother has just moved into the nursing home after a major operation aged 97. I am so impressed. The carers are so attentive that she is obviously in excellent hands. Her room is spacious and the interior decorating and staff uniforms are so bright and pretty. There is wonderful entertainment every afternoon and visitors are made most welcome (lunches are fantastic) Which is important part of keeping the residents happy! Congratulations the whole concept is modern.
Thank you so much for your feedback. Ensuring the wellbeing of individuals who live at Woodalnd Grove is our main goal, we are delighted you are pleased with the choice of home.
The nursing care is also excellent and communicate well with the family. I have no hesitation to recommend Woodlands, it ticks all the boxes and delivers a high quality caring environment. I can't ask for more.
My mother was receiving 24 hrs at home and originally came here for a two week break but has asked to stay permanently. The care provided is amazing, in fact the staff are beyond amazing. My mother enjoys the various activities and looks forward to trying different things. She has been painting and taking part in quizzes, its as if she's come alive again and looks so rested and sleeping well! I cannot thank enough all the staff for their never ending care and support they showed.
The entertainment is amazing and mum enjoys it so much. Also the management are always there if you need them and are very caring. The receptionists on arrival are professional and polite and are so lovely. Nothing is too much for Woodland Grove and I'm so glad I chose them.
I cannot express my thanks and gratitude enough for the care she received there in what was a difficult year. Thank you.
My mother lived at Woodland Grove from July 2014 until her death in May 2015. The quality of care which she received there was outstanding, and I would unhesitatingly recommend the home. My mother was a fairly private and independent woman; moving to a care home was very much a last resort when she could no longer be cared for safely at home. The staff at Woodland Grove were able to coax her into participating in the life of the home, whilst continuing to respect her privacy. During the last few weeks of her life the home was wonderful, caring for her gently and with dignity and enabling the family to spend as much time with her as we could. I can never thank them, and in particular the excellent Manager enough for those last few weeks.
Choosing this care home for my mother is one of the best decisions my family has made; the difficult time when my mother needed to be admitted into a care home was made so much easier because of the manager's caring attitude and help, and the excellent welcome my mother received when she first arrived.
Every staff member is caring and professional; nothing is too much trouble and they all seem genuinely happy to be thereMy mother has been made to feel very welcome and has settled in extremely well.
The standard of care is truly excellent with various events organised (should a resident wish to take part).
There are always staff members in attendance and we always feel relaxed and happy that my mother is in such a supportive and secure place
Family and friends are encouraged to visit and are made very welcome. We wished to celebrate my mother's birthday recently and the care home more than happily decorated a large room with bunting and balloons and provided a wonderful buffet and drinks. Although very frail my mother so enjoyed her day as did all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The fabric of the building is excellent and has been purpose built as a care home, everywhere is fresh, clean and new.The resident's bedrooms are large with beautifully designed en-suite facilities (in my mother's case it is a wet room).
There are lovely touches everywhere with various items of decoration which are of interest to residents.
To sum up, it is great to have such good accommodation, however it is really the staff who make this so exceptional with their professional abilities and such great personal attitude.
I would highly recommend this establishment and I reiterate it is the best decision we have made.
Woodland Grove has brought a happiness to my mother's life that has meant so much to her, myself and her grandson that now enjoys his visits. I am extremely grateful as circumstances restrict my visits but whenever I call and speak to members of the team and the feedback is always positive and reassuring. The home has been our saviour. Thank you to everyone.
I would like to make a special mention firstly of the Manager - she cared for my father, and indeed all of my family, far beyond any of our expectations. Also another member of staff in charge of the Nursing unit, I have only the highest praise for her care of my father, she was amazing. Her calm, unhurried manner was so appreciated by us all. The whole nursing team were such a comfort to us in our darkest days.
Woodland Grove is a very special place.
My father spent the last 2 weeks of his life being cared for in this wonderful place. He was admitted for palliative care for his advanced and aggressive cancer (Lung, liver and spine) aged just 76 and having been diagnosed just two months prior. I can honestly say the care he received was excellent. Upon admission he was weak and immobile, suffering from intense pain, distress and discomfort. The wonderful manager and her excellent team cared for him like he was a member of their own family. He was kept clean, comfortable and loved; he was treated with dignity and respect; and his pain and distress was promptly dealt with and he was made comfortable and calm. The nursing team led by an excellent member of staff were just so amazing and the also incredible care assistants (my lovely Daddy called them his angels) gave not only him but us absolutely first class care. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Meet the Team (4)

I am a qualified Biomedical Scientist and specialised in Blood Transfusion. I worked for the NHS before I decided to join the Health and Social Care sector in 2012. My first role was at a small residential care setting for the elderly. I joined as a Deputy Manager and progressed to a Registered Manager role. Since then, I have been in various management roles within the sector.
I joined Oakland Care in 2020 as a Unit Manager. I then progressed to the Head of Memory and Residential Care Role before moving into the Deputy Manager Role and now General Manager. I have a passion for providing exceptional care and developing a team that goes above and beyond in the care they provide.

I have an academic background in Literature and Journalism. However, driven by the desire to be part of a meaningful change, in 2019, I decided to transition into the Social and Healthcare sector. This is when I joined Oakland Care as a Healthcare Assistant, and I have since advanced through various roles, progressively working my way up to my current position as Deputy Manager. My journey has given me a deep understanding of both the personal and professional aspects of care. As a Deputy Manager, I aim to ensure that our residents receive exceptional care and that my team is led with inspiration, compassion, and integrity. I recently earned a qualification in therapeutic counselling and am interested in all things philosophy and psychology.

I have supported Care Homes for over 9 years and previously worked in Leisure and HR. My role is to effectively manage the occupancy levels of both Lambwood Heights and Woodland Grove care homes and build positive relationships with residents, families and external contacts in the community.
I work closely with the marketing department and our lifestyles teams to ensure our services are promoted to reflect the excellent care and support we provide. The residents are our extended family who we love to nurture and share daily life with whilst keeping them safe and well. I’m always delighted to meet new families and support their journey.

Before starting at Woodland Grove, my previous role was event coordinator in a museum and I have always worked in a creative industry. I helped to create big events such as private view and private parties.
I have a passion for creating creative and inclusive opportunities for diverse groups and making them explore different art and crafts.I really enjoy also sports activities like keep fit and name the tune where we explore different music and create a great atmosphere.
