I am a permanent resident at the Grange, and after a temporary contract, and before my injury, moved around the county many times. So believe me, getting me to stop in one place was no mean feat. I can honestly say I wouldn't swap my room here for the world.

My father in law reached a stage where he was no longer capable of managing to live independently. His world had become smaller and his interests more limited.
With other family members we visited care homes and immediately had a different, more personal, vibe when entering Seacroft. We weren't looking for a perfect, hotel-like palace, we were looking for somewhere that felt like home.
Two months later and my father in law is much more like his old self. Getting proper meals and having a certain amount of independence has worked wonders. He is interested in more than just watching television.
The staff are fantastic. All are approachable and appear to enjoy being with the residents. I've never seen a member of staff on an 'off' day. The location is beautiful, overlooking the old village green, with views of Leeds beyond. The home feels light and airy.

Seacroft Grange is well worth a look.

The staff at Seacroft Grange are wonderful. I have nothing but praise for them. My thoughts on food are v poor, school dinners no real option for vegetarian. Activities great led by Linda and the team. Eve good but my experience and journey with head office v poor and stressful. I would suggest a staff rest room for them to eat during their breaks would be a benefit the climate within rooms could be much better. Overall great place my mum is looked after so well.

My 95 year old father in law spent 2 weeks respite care in Seacroft Grange after a 3 week stay in hospital.
He has poor mobility and is extremely deaf.
Every effort was made to keep to a routine as this is very important to him especially around mealtimes.
He had all his meals in the dining room which we thought might be a problem for him.
He enjoyed the food which was good quality and well presented in the pleasant dining room.
Another big hurdle for him to overcome was accepting help with his personal care. He can no longer wash himself and is embarrassed. However 2 amazing young members of staff managed to coax him to have 4 showers.
This was beyond our expectations so huge credit to them!
His room was kept clean and was pleasant. However it was very small. The rooms initially shown were larger and so were the others nearby.
If he was in here full time we wouldn't

have accepted it. However for 2 weeks arranged at very short notice it was acceptable.

Overall happy with home.
But had to report toilet four times kept blocking.
Also fall mat underbed wasn't fit until 10 days.
Staff are lovely.

When arrive after 6 struggle to get in, its security but can be waiting a while to get in on to floor as no fob.

Lovely building, staff lovely. Aware of a few teething issues, toilet was reported 4 times as it was blocked. Safety mat for under bed wasn't fitted until at least day 10 and it had to be prompted. The kids love to visit their great grandma , we were told the bistro had cakes etc but we've never seen any. Overall lovely place and feels very calm.

I have been asked to , and have reviewed Seacroft Grange in the past. My wife has now been a resident for the past two years, and I must admit that over that time the staff at the care home have been consistent in the delivery of their care, to the benefit of the residents in all three communities.

No caring situation is perfect and there have been occasions when I felt that standards have faltered slightly, although those situations are rare and have been promptly addressed by the management team when reported.

I am constantly impressed by the communication that the managers take time to report and listen to the opinions of the resident's family via one to one or a regular teams meetings, plus an evening where we have the opportunity to meet socially with the team and other relatives over a glass of wine and excellent cheese and continental meats. This has been particularly useful to myself in meeting other relatives and sharing views on how their own experiences have been.

My experience of the care home the last month is nothing short of excellent. The ongoing support whilst navigating challenging family dynamics is extremely appreciated. At the same time, making sure mum is safe, cared for and able to share her wishes and opinions is always the primary focus.

The food is of a very good standard with plenty of choice. My mothers health has improved dramatically for the better since coming here which has removed a lot of stress for our family. It was a struggle finding somewhere for the particular care needs of my aunt, but from our first conversations about organising an assessment I knew this was different from the other homes I'd interacted with. Both the care and management staff are kind and caring, and everyone knows my aunt by her first name. The home is bright and jolly and much less 'clinical' than other homes I have seen, and I would be happy to recommend it to others.

Every single member of staff at Seacroft Grange, showed care and friendliness to my Mother. They were very professional, nothing was too much effort for the staff, particularly at the end of Mums life, they went above and beyond to ensure her comfort and dignity. They showed the same care to my Mum as to my brother and I. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough.

If you want your relative to be not just taken care of but loved then is the place to choose. The staff treat the residents as if they were their own family. As someone who lives in another country it's deeply reassuring to know that my mother is being treated with both love and dignity.

In general the care home is good. Excellent activity staff who support and encourage the residents and are warm and friendly. In general the care and support team on the floors are kind and caring.

When care uk took over it was anticipated that fresh food would be cooked at the home and more fresh food would be available this hasn't happened, this is one area I would like to change. In addition I would like one specific television company for all residents made available there is a cinema room which could be used to facilitate this.

Very pleased with the care and attention that my mother receives at Seacroft Grange. Comforting to know she's looked after and respected by all the staff hence my 5-star review. However, on a separate note, I am disappointed and at times frustrated with the handling of financial aspects of her care since the acquisition by Care UK and centralising of financial management.

Mother had settled in well to her new room following a change from the residential side to the more secure care side of the facility for her own safety.
Unfortunately the house keeping of her room has required on two occasions to be brought to the attention of the home manager and a senior, with cleaning etc. not been to a required standard, although in both cases this has received prompt attention when pointed out to the staff.
Mums room is comfortable and adequate.
Mum seems happy when in the lounge with others and when joining in activities and I'm sure the staff try to provide the best they can in what can be trying circumstances with dementia sufferers.

In the environment items seem to be mislaid, including named laundry items which should be easily remedied but appears not to be.

Better checking of routines by seniors and management to improve and uphold standards would be of benefit

First the good...My mum's room is large, spacious & has everything she needs. Reception staff are excellent. They always pass messages on & are friendly & professional. The activities appear to be held on a regular basis & are varied & they try to involve everyone. My mum is treated with respect & friendliness. Now the not so good...when my mum presses her buzzer it takes a while for staff to respond. I dread to think if she presses it in an emergency situation what would happen. I think they need more maintenance staff as repairs seem to take forever & often need chasing up. From what I've seen of the food the quality is not very good & often isn't very warm. Communication between staff is not the best. We have had times where we have spoken to one carer about something yet it doesn't get passed on to others so end up repeating ourselves

Mum has been a resident for 2 years now .
Care is good , residents are well looked after & there is a constant supply of outstanding activities & entertainment going on to suit everyone's needs .
Reception is excellent always my first point of contact & so helpful .
Food & beverages are good & senior staff & cares on courtyard brilliant , kind compassionate & welcoming .although I have struggled with the amount of mums personal items constantly going missing .
I understand that residents do move & hide things all the time so just keep replacing as a challenging environment for staff to keep track of residents belongings .

I would highly recommend Grange to any family looking for residential care for family or friends & cannot thank all staff enough for providing a happy safe secure home for mum to live .

Eve MoranJob Title:Home Manager

The most important part of my role as manager is to be honest, flexible and responsive to people’s needs. Being kind and caring is also essential, residents and their families should always be able to trust us.

I am always so proud to see the positive impact we have in supporting residents. We are a large home, and it feels great to be able to offer innovative care and combat some of the stigma surrounding care provision.

I have 16 years of experience and am a registered mental health nurse. I also have a level five qualification in leadership and management. I first started as a clinical lead so becoming manager has been a career highlight.

I am equally busy outside of work and spend as much time as I can with my partner and little boy. I am very close to my mum too. I also can’t forget to mention Alan, our dog, who we love to walk.
