Mum's move into residential care was unexpected and distressing for everyone. From the very beginning, the staff at Perry Manor did everything they could to help us through the move and make things as welcoming for mum as possible. Covid-19 makes the situation very difficult but even if we have limited time with Mum, I am that the staff are working hard to keep her safe and comfortable.
I found the staff very helpful and kind. They do their best to help assist in all you ask of them and a smile. They are great.
I found the staff to be most helpful, polite and very accommodating. Beautiful home; cannot fault it.
The staff are so friendly, helpful and courteous and the whole atmosphere is happy and supportive. Our visit was under COVID regulations but the home was very organized and welcoming. Residents appeared very content in their very supportive environment. Excellent all round.
I can't thank the staff at Perry Manor Care Home enough. They were amazing, they looked after my husband as if he was a member of their own family. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I can recommend it without reservations to anyone considering such a place for their own needs or the needs of a relative.
Relieved that my dad can receive the care that he needs in such a wonderful environment.
More than satisfied with my husband's care. Being very unsettled at the beginning, he is now content and joining in activities and social gatherings.
My experience has been pleasanter than anticipated, with a greater degree of autonomy with regard to meals and activities. The staff have been very supportive and helpful and I have enjoyed meeting up with fellow residents. The occasional visit such as to the countryside park are very welcome - we need to stay connected to the world outside to avoid becoming institutionalised. Similarly, visits from 'entertainers', e.g. when we had a visiting pianist or choir - live music is most welcome.
My mother, who is 94 years old, has been a resident at Perry Manor Care Home since May 2019. She is frail physically and alert mentally and has been cared for with great kindness, dignity and a smile from all the staff who have contributed to my mother’s well being. Prior to ‘lockdown’ there were numerous daily activities that residents could partake in and my mother loved having her nails done. I would have no hesitation in recommending Perry Manor Care Home as a wonderful place for your elderly loved ones. The staff go beyond their duties. Also, the food is wonderful and the kitchen staff are happy to take on individual requests.
Despite Mum not wishing ever to be in a ‘home’ there is no question that Home is exactly what Perry Manor is for my Mum. Not only has Mum two sorts of dementia to contend with but almost no communication skills remaining throughout her time at Perry Manor, so caring for her with dignity, humour and deep humanity is the most incredible skill. Perry Manor is an undoubted blessing which cares for residents (and their families) with compassion and utmost professionalism.
The staff at Perry Manor are very sensitive and extremely caring in their approach enabling my mother to settle in at the home. The staff supports my mother extremely well throughout the day and night, which considering she has dementia can present many challenges. I'm glad to say that my Mum still has the same wicked sense of humour thanks to the commitment of the staff and management. The standard of care is excellent and this has been demonstrated more than ever during the COVID-19 and remains so.
I have never seen such a dedicated and devoted team of staff working together as I did in Perry Manor. Entrusting the care of your loved one to somebody else, then not being able to visit them has been one of the most challenging times of my life, but the effort from the team to go above and beyond normal care to ensure my Mum was cared for, and we remained in communication was for me, unrivalled. Moving Mum to Perry Manor was the hardest decision, but the best decision my Sister and I ever made. I cannot imagine a higher level of care and dedication from a care home team is possible.
My mother lived at Perry Manor for 6 years until her death in July 2020. The care she received was outstanding - she was always treated with complete respect but also love and affection. During Covid-19 the staff have always gone the extra mile and the manager of her floor took the trouble to phone me on the day of Mum’s death despite the fact she was on her day off.
My husband has been at this nursing home for nearly 4 years and from day one has been nursed in bed. The carers and the staff, in my opinion, have always been first class. On the occasions that there has been any need to address my concerns they have always been dealt with professionally and in a timely manner. The manager at Perry Manor is always available and I believe that her leadership makes Perry Manor extremely successful.
Our parents went to Perry Manor from another Care Home where their treatment there was, to say the least, was very questionable. It is a big decision to place trust and responsibility into a care home when the level of care exceeds what you can provide or their care needs increase. We were obviously disappointed with our first introduction to private care facilities, however Perry Manor has not only restored our faith but exceeded our expectations. Management and care have been superb throughout, and their excellence has shone out during this current crisis. Could not recommend Perry Manor enough, our parents have been very happy here.
For my Mum, this is her home and she truly feels that. She counts the staff as her friends because they show genuine care for which we are so grateful. They always endeavour to provide a range of activities and events with much thought and through involving residents with choices. The home is clean and very well presented. I couldn’t think of a better place for my mum to be and I am so grateful to the staff for always going above and beyond.
Perry Manor is caring and efficient. My Aunt has been treated royally and myself kept in touch by the tremendous staff there. She has been in a room initially on the 2nd floor then on the ground floor as she has needed much more nursing. Both rooms were of hotel standard.
The carers, simply wow! I don't have to worry about mum at all, they are professional and kind but show love and compassion too with an incredible amount of patience.
All the staff work as one team, you can feel it as you walk around and it starts at reception. There is a sense of pride amongst the staff and there should be as not just anyone can work here, standards are high and they only choose the best.
Mum is shy and lacked confidence but they found ways to involve her in activities that suited her interests and now she is bossing everyone else around!
I would not even consider going elsewhere.
The care she has received has been exemplary and always delivered with genuine care and consideration for mum as an individual with her own character and personality and individual needs.
I can honestly say Mum couldn't be any happier even if she was in her own home.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff.
My mother was initially very sad to enter a care home and lose her independence. The staff at Perry Manor were sensitive and extremely caring in their approach enabling my Mum to gradually settle in. The team supported my Mum to regain her confidence and encouraged her to join other residents at meal times where my Mum developed friendships. I'm glad to say that my Mum hasn't changed at all with the same wicked sense of humour thanks to the commitment of the staff and management. This is where my Mum is at home and feels very much a part of the Perry Manor family. The standard of care is excellent and this was demonstrated more than ever during the COVID-19 and remains so.

Meet the Team (1)

I’m a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse, and prior to joining Perry Manor in 2016, I was Deputy Hospital Director of a 63-bed psychiatric hospital in Bristol. I originally joined Care UK in 2006 and worked in its mental health division. The idea of returning to work for the organisation was attractive because I believed in its core values, and respected its ‘care first, business second’ approach.
Since joining the Perry Manor team, I’ve been making positive changes for both the residents and my colleagues. I was thrilled when we received an ‘outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission at our inspection in late 2018. We were the first home in Worcester to achieve this quality rating.
I’ve also been honoured to have won a couple of recent awards for my work. In 2019 I won silver in the British Journal of Nursing Awards and in the same year I won the award for Best Dementia Care Manager at the National Dementia Care Awards.
I’m incredibly proud of the fantastic home we’ve created for older people in Worcester – none of which would have been possible without the commitment and passion of the team at Perry Manor. When you work in a care home you realise that it is organic, there will never be a finished product. It continues to grow, change and develop. Looking ahead, we will continue to strive to deliver the best care to every resident, keeping up-to-date with the latest practice and working with residents and their families to make Perry Manor a home from home for all of our residents.
