Perry Manor has a Review Score of 10 (9.988) out of 10, based on 41 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Perry Manor has 198 reviews.
I am a resident of 4 1/2 years at Perry Manor. It is now my home, I hope til I die. I am very happy with all my carers and the management is very good. The nurses are OK. I thought I had come here for respite but I was made such a fuss of, I soon settled in. I am not too happy with agency staff, some can't speak English. The Internet is very bad, analogue phones are just as bad.
It’s lovely to hear that you have soon settled in at Perry Manor and that you are very happy with all your carers. We have now had WiFi booster installed which will improve access to the internet. We are sorry to hear your thoughts on agency staff. Care UK aim to use minimal agency staff and we are recruiting and interviewing new permanent nurses and carers to reduce this.
I am very happy with the standard of care my dad receives in the home, the staff, food and personal care are all fantastic and Dad is looked after very well by the nursing staff when it is needed. My only problem is the signal for mobile phones is very poor in my dad's room and we struggle to call him at times, the coffee machine is often broken but the cakes/treats on offer are fabulous.
Thank you very much for your review. We are delighted that you rate personal care, support and activities as excellent. The issue with the signal for mobiles has now been addressed as we have had WiFi boosters installed and the coffee machine is now fixed.
A pleasing atmosphere with activities for residents and pleasant meals.
Good communication between staff, residents and family members.
I visit my ex-neighbour most weeks. He always appears happy and chats about what he has been involved with in the week. He is always clean and tidy.
Pleasant to visit resident. Cheerful staff and very helpful.
All the staff are helpful, polite and all work hard for all the residents who live here. I recommend this place, Perry Manor, to everyone. The people who work here really look after their residents and you can leave your mother etc and know they are being looked after in a safe place and are well looked after and are happy.
The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, the facilities are very good.
My husband moved into Perry Manor after spending 4 months in the hospital after a stroke, he has settled in well. The nurses and carers have been extremely careful in managing his needs and have done this in a kind and compassionate manner. He is treated with great respect, in fact, the whole ethos of Perry Manor is respectful ensuring dignity and consideration. It is a lively and friendly environment. Visitors and family are really well treated too.
Perry Manor have worked very hard to get to know Mum. I have watched as she has grown in confidence with support/care provided which is very often above/beyond. This collectively comes from receptionists/nurses/cleaners/housekeeping and senior staff who all work very hard to bring a professional/friendly service which mum now calls home.
Mum suffers from anxiety as she no longer walks and feels frustrated not being able to get to one place or another the way she used to. All staff recognize this, are patient/kind/reassuring especially when family are not around which is extremely comforting.
Mum enjoys going to lunch/dinner with her new resident friends and spending quality time with family and friends drinking frothy coffee/cake and we all wonder what lovely cake is being made every day. We've all got s little bigger but hey it's Christmas!! Well done Perry Manor.
My parents have recently moved to Perry Manor and all staff have ensured that they settle in well. Whilst my Dad's room is on the nursing floor and Mum on residential, the staff do their utmost to ensure that they spend quality time together throughout the day. My parents are welcomed on both floors by catering staff for meals and the food is excellent with plenty of choice. All the staff make my parents feel at home and visitors are made very welcome.
2) Complete review of catering and dining room service required.
A) Poor food choices/very poor presentation of meals/staff helping themselves to finger food during service.
B) Very poor ambience in the dining room (Cromwell) - staff flying around all the time cf New Street Station.
3) Residents not getting resident-led service/poor communication between staff at times.
We appreciate you taking time to provide feedback on Perry Manor and are delighted to see your positive score on our activities and facilities. The home manager has recently been supporting a sister home for a couple of days a week but she is now back at Perry Manor full time. During that period we...
My friend is a resident is very happy and contented in Perry Manor. The meals seem very good and the staff are very kind, thoughtful and understanding. Sometimes I feel they are too busy as my friend has had to wait quite a long time, sometimes several hours for a personal need to be taken care of. This may be due to staff shortages or just a lot to be done at that particular time.
Overall, I'm very happy with the care my father receives. The only possible complaint is staffing but I realise that this is a problem in all homes and the staff you have are wonderful. The best thing about my dad staying here is that when I bring him home after a day out my father and I breathe a sigh of relief that he is back safe and home.
I am a visitor who visits my friend. The care is outstanding, the staff outstanding and the setting is wonderful. It is wonderful to come to stay and visit. I would recommend this place to anyone. I talk about Perry Manor to all I know for their kindness and care.
From the start of my residence, I have felt safe, comfortable and well cared for. The place is clean and well maintained. Any complaints are dealt with promptly. I can choose to enjoy privacy in my room or mingle with others in the lounges and during communal events which are regularly held here. We have varied menus of reasonable high standard and alternatives are offered also. The staff are so considerate, caring and often go to the extreme. This is my home.
I am also impressed by the range of activities on offer.
Both my parents have been cared for in Perry Manor. I have been visiting Perry Manor for three and a half years or more. The staff have always been very good.
Unfortunate that Care UK tried to increase fees by 6% more than inflation.
I am extremely happy that my mum is a resident. I feel that she matters to all staff and that her needs are being met in all areas. Plus, I think we, her family, are given great consideration.
All staff are friendly and helpful. All residents are happy and well cared for.

Meet the Team (1)

I’m a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse, and prior to joining Perry Manor in 2016, I was Deputy Hospital Director of a 63-bed psychiatric hospital in Bristol. I originally joined Care UK in 2006 and worked in its mental health division. The idea of returning to work for the organisation was attractive because I believed in its core values, and respected its ‘care first, business second’ approach.
Since joining the Perry Manor team, I’ve been making positive changes for both the residents and my colleagues. I was thrilled when we received an ‘outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission at our inspection in late 2018. We were the first home in Worcester to achieve this quality rating.
I’ve also been honoured to have won a couple of recent awards for my work. In 2019 I won silver in the British Journal of Nursing Awards and in the same year I won the award for Best Dementia Care Manager at the National Dementia Care Awards.
I’m incredibly proud of the fantastic home we’ve created for older people in Worcester – none of which would have been possible without the commitment and passion of the team at Perry Manor. When you work in a care home you realise that it is organic, there will never be a finished product. It continues to grow, change and develop. Looking ahead, we will continue to strive to deliver the best care to every resident, keeping up-to-date with the latest practice and working with residents and their families to make Perry Manor a home from home for all of our residents.
