Since my mother moved into Priors House in the summer, we have been very happy with the warm, welcoming environment and high standard of care. We have been particularly struck by the kindness and patience shown by all staff. Everyone with whom we've come into contact has been friendly and helpful, and we are always greeted at reception by name and with a smile. The rooms could be a little larger, but the ensuite bathrooms are a good size. Everywhere is very clean. There are regular meals and snacks on offer throughout the day, and my mother particularly likes the hot chocolate in the free cafe downstairs. Various activities are available every day, and there is a well-maintained and very pleasant garden. We hope that there will be an opportunity for outings when the weather improves. We have no hesitation in recommending Prior House and are glad that my mother is living in such a safe and supportive home.

Our mum was given a terminal diagnosis and came to spend her last few months at Priors House. We were apprehensive about her going into a home but very quickly knew we had absolutely made the right choice.

Mum was really happy there. She formed good connections with the staff, and they looked after her well. In Mum's final days, the staff not only cared for her, they looked after us as well. We can not speak highly enough about Priors House. We would recommend them to anyone and feel they totally deserve their “outstanding” CQC achievement.

My wife and I were looking for a care home for my mother-in-law. After visiting quite a few we selected Priors House. It’s a lovely and welcoming building with a wonderful cafe on site. My mother-in-law has been in since August and is loving it. It’s more like a hotel than a care home. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean with an ensuite bathroom. It’s close to the town centre of the local town but surrounded by fields with lovely views. What makes Priors House stand out is the team they have there. One of your managers was so welcoming to us and helped with all our queries. From the reception staff to all the carers they are so friendly, caring, and treat my mother-in-law with respect and kindness.

Anyone considering a care home for their loved one should take a look at Priors and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Mother-in-law thinks she is in a 5-star hotel and it certainly feels like it.

My mum has recently gone into Priory Care Home in Leamington. After only two weeks she is so much happier and has settled in really well. The home is in an ideal location, surrounded by countryside but only minutes from the town centre. It is spotless and the bedrooms are spacious and immaculate with all rooms having en suites. There are daily activities plus a cinema, shop and hairdressers. It doesn’t feel like a care home, more like a hotel with welcoming staff and a really pleasant cafe where we can sit and chat. What makes this care home special though are the people who work there and look after my mum. They are so caring and friendly and cannot do enough for her. After looking around a few care homes, this one came out top. I know my mum is being cared for and I really enjoy visiting her.

My husband was in a hospice, extremely ill with cancer. The hospice was wonderful and had achieved pain control, but for good reasons felt he would be better in a quiet atmosphere to receive end of life care. He was assessed and it was agreed my husband would move to Priors House. Next day, once installed in a delightful room, with a view of the countryside, he soon felt secure and at home. Priors has a hugely experienced team of nurses and their care is outstanding. The carers are equally good and quickly get to know their patient. But all the staff also look after the patient's family. Nothing was too much trouble. My husband died after only five days. My comfort is that he died peacefully with family with him. We are indebted to such support and professionalism. Thank you Priors House.

Priors House is exceptional. The staff, the culture and the facilities are just what we were looking for. The welcome Mum received when she arrived was very warm. Within moments of her arrival, several staff members had welcomed her and let her know how they could help her. My experiences of other care homes varied from indifference (being made to wait up to 20 minutes after calling for staff) to moribund with closed doors, invisible staff and uncleaned carpets – places that make you want to turn and run. Priors House is entirely different. It’s light and spotless and the communal areas are comfortable and inviting. The staff are, without exception, responsive, friendly and kind. Mum enjoys the perfect mix of a cosy yet spacious, private space in her room and the connectedness of the noise and bustle of a place that has life just outside her door. She is happily living in this home where people are treated like adults; quite unlike the infantilism that feels ubiquitous elsewhere.

The staff at Priors House were unfailingly helpful, professional and caring during a very difficult time. The nursing staff were always available and prepared to listen to every small bit of input we gave. The liaison with their doctors’ surgery was excellent, and once in place, gave my aunt superb care and attention, far exceeding anything she had been receiving in the community. Dealing with relatives and patients for end-of-life care requires a particular set of skills; the staff at Priors did an outstanding job from first contact to the final farewell. Thank you.

My mother arrived at Priors House on the 22nd of October 2021. Since she has been there she has come on so well, they take excellent care of her and give her so much TLC. All of the staff are amazing. I would highly recommend Priors House to anyone who is looking for a nursing or residential home.

A perfect balance of empathy and business-like manner. Priors House does not only look after the residents with care and compassion, but their expertise is a great help to us too - as we negotiate the difficult balance of our parents not wanting to lose their independence, yet being unable to manage at home even with live-in care.

Mummy had stayed in Priors House several times for convalescence over the past few years. When her next stay was likely to be permanent the customer relations manager pulled out all the stops. Mummy was remembered and welcomed back like family by absolutely everyone. Her health fluctuated greatly, and the team just adjusted her care quietly as it was needed, keeping the family in the loop at all times. Sadly her last stay was all too short, but her care during this time was second to none.

Priors House is excellent, I cannot fault it. Everyone is so friendly and caring, you are never ignored. My mother was only there for a while with Dementia. She had to go to the hospital due to a fall, and she then went back to the home where sadly she passed away very peacefully. She was so well looked after, could not thank the staff enough. Would recommend this home, the most welcoming place to be.

I am very happy with the care my mother is receiving at Priors House. The staff are fantastic. They take the trouble to get to know her, and care for her really well and I know she could not be in better hands. She speaks very highly of the staff and the care she receives.
As someone who has a particular interest in food, she is not easy to please but speaks very highly of the chef at Priors House.

Unfortunately, through no fault of Priors House, activities have been constrained by the need for Covid restrictions.

The management displayed a perfect combination of empathy and business-like manner when I arranged for my mother to enter Priors House on what was likely to be a permanent basis in February 2022. The process (including special measures relating to the pandemic) was clearly explained and every effort was made to help the family comply.

The admission went exactly as planned without unnecessary stress for my mother or any other member of the family. In the four weeks since then, she has settled well and is particularly impressed by the staff who are always cheerful and helpful. She will be staying for the foreseeable future. The family is relieved and grateful to have found Priors House.

Francine SummersJob Title:Home Manager

I managed care homes before I joined Care UK and was even an area manager, overseeing a number of homes. I’ve also worked as a ‘turnaround manager’ – helping care homes to gain regulatory compliance – so I’ve lots of experience in care homes.

There’s a lot to do when you’re a home manager, but the best bit is having a coffee with the residents and chatting with them. When I can I also join in with activities because it’s wonderful seeing residents enjoying themselves – after all, that’s why we do what we do. I love seeing happy residents living fulfilling lives in our warm and friendly home.
