Buckingham House is a purpose-built Care Home providing caregiving for nursing, residential and dementia residents by well-trained and well-led carers and nurses. The home facilitates 24-hour personalised care whilst supporting people to have their independence and dignity.

The home boasts a number of lounges, two dining area, two cafes, a library and hair dressing salon, as well as beautifully landscaped gardens and patio areas. Each room is en-suite and decorated to a hotel standard, whilst each floor has a modern equipped bathroom facility.

The head chef who won MMCG Masterchef of the year, has developed a seasonal menu to suit all palettes, and promote choice. She meets with the people living at the home to hear their requirements and this is reflected in her menu.

Looking at ways to engage with the people that live at the home in a meaningful way is important to the activities coordinator.

The people living at the home are invited to participate in clubs such as gardening, baking, maintenance facilitated by the staff of the home. She also has engaged with the community having local Zumba, Tai Chi, Music for therapy companies attend the home.

Once your loved one is at the home, the team operate a “home from home” feel allowing you to visit the home at any time and offer the opportunities for you to join in any events or meals. Care plans are also structured and reviewed regularly using information provided by family, friends and medical professionals to ensure a meaning quality of life.

I would recommend Buckingham House and think all the staff do a fantastic job. Since my father has been a resident, he has had excellent care from the staff. He is very well looked after and extremely happy here. The staff always update me of Dads situation and his daily routines. The home is very clean,
and we are pleased Dad is a permanent resident in Buckingham House.

My mother came to the nursing home as part of a discharge to assess package, the outcome of which is still awaiting. However, I would be very pleased for my mother to remain at the nursing home if that is an available option. I have found all the staff exceptionally kind, caring and very helpful. I

Fantastic staff from the admin/reception staff and the managers, through to the care staff and cleaners. Everyone I have come across is empathetic and caring and this is reflected in the feel of the home. The care is resident led and even when dealing with challenging behaviour the attitude of the staff
is one of understanding and kindness. It has made an extremely difficult transition for my mum and the rest of the family much easier and I am confident that she is in the best hands.

I am now able to visit my mother inside her room after outside visits only since she became a resident. The staff are superb and my mum is always clean and as cheerful as she can be as she is bedbound and on 24-hour oxygen. The home is always welcoming and available to answer any questions we may have
regarding my mums care.

Lovely care home, my nan always seems so happy and talks very highly of the staff. She is always clean and tidy when I visit and is usually excited to tell me about what she has been doing and showing me her lovely painted nails. We are kept up to date with photos and videos of her looking very happy,
which we love receiving.

All the staff have been absolutely amazing. They have kept me informed and made a huge difference to mums rehabilitation. Mum has been so happy to stay here. A special appreciation to the lady on mums floor and for the receptionist who has been so efficient and lovely. I would have no problem with

Despite a difficult past year with Covid-19, my wife seems to have settled in okay. She moved in April 2020. She is a bit restless but has been for a couple of years now. The management and staff I have met have all been delightful, friendly, helpful, and cannot be faulted. My options following are

I have been part of the Buckingham House family since June 2015, starting my journey as a Health Care Assistant, right the way through to the Deputy Manager for 2 years to most recently being appointed as the Home Manager in August 2021.
Working within the home, I have discovered that I could not see myself working within any other profession. I am passionate and committed to provide resident led care, empowering those whose home we have the privilege of working within to have the best and most independent quality of life. I love keeping involved in daily living within the home and continue to support residents and the team with daily life at Buckingham House.

I graduated my nursing degree in 2010 and have been practicing as a nurse for over 15 years.

It is important to me that we uphold and maintain the same level of care that I expect my parents to receive. I am passionate to ensure that all our residents are clinically safe and their needs are met holistically. I see myself as the bridge between the management and wider teams in the home.
