My husband was fast-tracked from hospital following a stroke, he was also suffering from Alzheimer's. From the minute he arrived at Ashbourne Lodge Care Home, he was treated kindly and with the utmost respect by every member of staff, from the washers up to management. Our family was also totally supported by everyone during the lead-up to our loss and in the days and weeks that followed. Cannot give high enough praise, 100/100.
Thank you for your kind words Kath, we really appreciate it.
My mother has been a resident at Ashbourne Lodge for over 4 years and my late father was also a resident. I have found the care to be outstanding in every aspect. The care received, food quality, nursing care, entertainment and management are exceptional. I am extremely pleased with all aspects of the care my mother receives at Ashbourne Lodge.
Thank you very much for taking the time and providing us with such lovely positive feedback.
All staff at the care home were very caring and nothing was too much trouble. Our mum was treated with dignity and respect throughout her short time at the home. This was indeed a great comfort to myself, my sister and our families. We were able to visit anytime day or night. The home is kept very clean and it was so nice to see the staff engage with the residents.
Thank you for your positive feedback and kind words, we really appreciate it.
My mother spent just over 2 weeks here on end-of-life care before she sadly passed away. I cannot praise the staff enough for all their support towards Mum and us, her family. Nothing was too much trouble, the home is spotlessly clean, and the residents from what I saw daily are well cared for. We were allowed to visit whenever we wanted, this helped support Mum greatly in her final days. All staff are attentive and treat the residents with dignity and respect. This is the first home I have experienced seeing residents enjoying wine with dinner which is a lovely touch. Truly outstanding care home.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we appreciate the feedback.
I can highly recommend Ashbourne Lodge. My father came here as a residential resident but within a couple of weeks, he deteriorated to the level that he required nursing care. All the staff are truly excellent, professional and, more than anything, most caring. The office and nursing staff always made time to explain in detail the ongoing care that they were providing.
Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate your lovely comments.
Following a short stay in hospital the care and kindness shown to my mother-in-law made a huge difference to her health and wellbeing. The whole team have pulled out all the stops. We know it has given her and the family extra time when we felt all was lost. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always great to hear lovely feedback.
The support for my mother and for us as a family has been wonderful. We had support to help us and her to prepare for her move and since then she has blossomed. Staff encourage her to join in with lots of activities and her overall quality of life is so much better. The kindness and professionalism of the staff are outstanding.
Thank you for your kind words as well as your lovely feedback.
My husband moved into Ashbourne Lodge in September when his mobility, dementia, and continence deteriorated after an illness, and he became aggressive at times. It took him a while to settle, and Covid restrictions made visiting difficult. It has been much easier since I can be with him in his new home, either in his room or in the public rooms. It is a pleasant place to be in and has a far better atmosphere than any other care home I have visited. My husband is always surrounded by staff who are always calm, patient, friendly, and kind even when he is not in a good temper, though this is far less often than before. I think this is much better than being mainly with one person who was tired, frustrated, and often upset and our relationship has improved. We still miss living together, but can usually enjoy our times together. The other advantage is that when he has not been well, he has had prompt access to medical staff, something that was difficult at home.
Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate it.
Ashbourne Lodge has an excellent management team. The carers are friendly and look after the residents well. If you have a query it is dealt with in a professional and friendly manner. When you walk into the building it feels very relaxed and although quite big still has a homely feel.
Thank you for your lovely comment. Our team will appreciate it.
This is an exceptionally well-run care home and I'm absolutely delighted with the care and patience and impressed by the hard work of the management and staff. They handle the constantly changing needs of the residents incredibly well, but I would say that their greatest asset is the honesty and integrity in working with the residents and their families to ensure that the service provided is constantly reviewed and adjusted. Very impressive.
Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words.
After a traumatic few months with my father's dementia and ill health, plus poor care at another home nearby, we were exceptionally lucky to find Ashbourne Lodge. My father's stay at Ashbourne Lodge came late and was too short, he passed this morning. The care and love shown by all members of staff at Ashbourne Lodge to my father, my mum, and me was amazing, we were made to feel part of the family. Professional, yet personable, I couldn’t recommend this home more. Thank you to three members of staff in particular and the team, you're all marvellous.
Thank you for your kind response. We appreciate the lovely feedback.
A very well-run care home. The staff are friendly, professional, and caring. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to family and friends. The management and staff are amazing. Keep up the good work. Well done!
Thank you for your lovely comments. All feedback is very much appreciated.
My Grandfather received excellent care and support at Ashbourne Lodge. The staff took the time to get to know him personally, understand his likes and dislikes, and how he wanted to be treated. As his medical needs increased, my Grandfather was well looked after, respected as an individual, and cared for wonderfully. I would recommend Ashbourne Lodge to anyone.
Thank you for the amazing review! We look after all our residents with great pride at Ashbourne Lodge and it gives us all pleasure to know that it is appreciated so much by the relatives.
Good!

Covid rules in place and working really successfully to accommodate visiting my relative. Information in place to advise on rules and changes. Staff always friendly and helpful. Information and options recorded with reference to restricted access therefore some ratings based on previous (before covid) knowledge.

After only 10 days I could see such a positive difference in Mums health and well-being that can only be due to the standard of care given by the whole team, a credit to the Care profession.
Special mention goes to the member of staff who went above and beyond to quickly get Mum settled into their care.
Thank you

I want to acknowledge the professionalism and timely manner in which the staff at Ashbourne Lodge have reacted, both to admitting my father to the Lodge following a fall 18 months ago, and to the diligent and caring manner in which they have supported him (and me) during this time. I am so appreciative of their efforts and am happy to recommend their services to others in need of respite or longer term care for themselves or members of their family.

In all my experience of visiting care homes whilst in the volunteer service, I haven’t found one more deserving to receive top marks than the “Ashbourne Lodge”. The staff and management are all impeccably outstanding in their duties, truly caring for all the residents, and giving them the fullest of attention possible. We have a very close family friend who stayed on a regular basis at the Lodge for respite, however, she is now a permanent resident here, and speaks highly about her carers being so friendly and helpful, and tells me they are always good to her and make her happy to be here. Every member of the Lodge management and staff are amazing in their duties and stand out by being devoted and caring. When and if the time should arise for me to require care, the Ashbourne Lodge would most certainly be my ultimate choice!

My father-in-law came to Ashbourne lodge in May last year, has he could not go back to his own home as his wife was in the hospital. The care he received was very good, they treated him with dignity and respect. The carer and the nurses were very caring towards him. The manager is very good at his job and is very welcoming to every person that comes through the doors of Ashbourne lodge. The food is very good and nice and there is a variety of drinks that the residents can have from cold/hot or a drink from the bar.

Meet the Team (1)

I started with Milford Care in April 2011 as a Care Assistant and then worked hard to progress within the company to reach my current role of Home Manager at Ashbourne Lodge, a position I have held since the Home opened in 2014. I find my job so rewarding and would not change it for the world as here at Ashbourne Lodge my team and I strive to make a difference to everyone who comes to stay with us. It is my passion to give good quality person-centred care, and this is an ethos which is embedded through the entire team at Ashbourne Lodge.
