The home is kept up to a high standard and is very clean.
This is the best care home we have visited.
All carers are very patient, even under trying conditions and little or no appreciation from the residents.
Would recommend this care home unconditionally.
She is kept clean and tidy.
Everyone understands her because the stroke she had took her voice and this makes communication very difficult.
Thank you for submitting such a nice review for our home.
I love it here.
The Lodge is more of a home to the residents, immaculately clean and vibrant.
Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased that you are so happy with our care at The Home.
Ashbourne Lodge staff have always gone above and beyond to make my nan feel comfortable and meet all of her needs. Nothing is too much hassle. The home is always very clean and presentable, and the communication towards the family has always been 100%.
Staff are always friendly and helpful and are always obliging to offer tea and coffee when we visit.
The other events throughout the year allow family more quality time with nana ie dances, Christmas fair.
I am always made to feel welcome as I visit the home to visit residents and offer a listening ear to all I meet.
I was very impressed by the level of care and the way the residents are treated with dignity by the staff.
Extremely friendly staff, excellent care.
My partner received excellent, loving care in the last few months of his life. He enjoyed the activities while he was able and especially like the breakfasts, porridge followed by bacon, sausage, eggs etc.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always a privilege to help and support a family when one of their loved ones is in our care.
The staff treated my father with care and compassion at all times. They all treated him as if he was part of their family. He enjoyed the entertainment, films, food and all aspects of life at The Lodge. He was confused and forgetful at times and the staff helped by being cheerful and encouraging.
Thank you for your kind words Diane. It means a lot to the staff to know that their hard work and dedication has been appreciated.
We were always made to feel very welcome and comforted by all the staff. My Dad really enjoyed his stay and was treated like one of the family. We cannot thank everyone enough for their care and attention and maintaining his sense of humour.
Thank you very much Christine for your kind words. We aim to treat all our residents with respect and make everyone feel part of the Ashbourne Lodge family.
Lovely staff, beautiful arrangement made for commitment ceremony. Thank you.
brilliant so caring and just wonderful. I would recommend them to all, the home is just wonderful.
My mother has always been a difficult person, and I'm sure she has been a challenge to the staff of Ashbourne Lodge. However, they have treated her with great respect, care and patience, and this has been rewarded in recent months by an improvement in her relationship with staff.
The nursing team deserves particular thanks for their support to her and to us, her family, thank you.
If there was a 'very good' rating, that is what I would have chosen.
My 97-year-old mother has now been at Ashbourne Lodge for 2 years and I cannot praise it enough. She has settled well and is happier than I ever remember her being. She is truly fond of the staff and they are extremely kind and supportive of her. If and when she has a bad day and feels unwell they do everything they can to help her. The food is excellent - I cannot remember her having eaten so well in years. She gets her own paper delivered and also has weekly hairdressing and the attention of the podiatrist. The doctor visits regularly. The general upkeep and cleanliness of the home is amazing and regularly deep cleaned. The outside areas are delightful. All in all, it is a pleasure to visit my mum in Ashbourne Lodge either sitting in the well-decorated entrance hall or sitting in the gardens and sharing a cup of coffee. There is a great deal of stimulation so despite some mental deterioration she is encouraged to keep her brain active. I fully recommend it.
Nursing care is excellent and the staff are all very friendly. When I enquire as to his wellbeing I receive useful updates but on occasion, I have not been kept up to date proactively when he has been ill. I visit at least weekly and on a few occasions, I have been disappointed to find my Father heavily unshaven and with food around his mouth. Also, swifter action in terms of dealing with issues with his hearing aids would be appreciated as he is heavily dependent on them.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about the care your father is receiving here at Ashbourne Lodge. It’s extremely valuable to us and we welcome and take all feedback provided very seriously.
We are pleased to hear that overall you are happy with the care provided and will be...
First-class care and support are provided by all the staff and management at Ashbourne Lodge.
Everyone is polite and courteous and they have a real understanding of individual residents needs and requirements.
I would have no hesitation of recommending Ashbourne Lodge to any relative who requires care for their loved ones.
My Aunt receives wonderful care. The staff are very caring and attentive. The surroundings are lovely - very bright and beautifully clean. All the residents seem very happy and my aunt is very happy here. I can't say enough positive things!

Meet the Team (1)

I started with Milford Care in April 2011 as a Care Assistant and then worked hard to progress within the company to reach my current role of Home Manager at Ashbourne Lodge, a position I have held since the Home opened in 2014. I find my job so rewarding and would not change it for the world as here at Ashbourne Lodge my team and I strive to make a difference to everyone who comes to stay with us. It is my passion to give good quality person-centred care, and this is an ethos which is embedded through the entire team at Ashbourne Lodge.
